Okay, I just have to whine about my life right now. I just have to. No one should feel obligated to read this, as I really am just whining. )

To counterbalance the angst a bit, I'm rather enjoying driving because it means I can blast music all the time, and theoretically I could go out and do things if I didn't feel guilty doing so because of how awful I'm doing in Chemistry. I don't like having to get gas because it seems like something that occurs far to often, but other than that, driving is good. :) I am super excited about the idea of putting bumper stickers on my car. OHHH YEAH.

I am almost certainly applying for a job at Brunswick Vet in the next few days! Every time I'm there with one of my pets they tell me I should bring in a resume, so I figure it's about time I do so. I think having a job would do me a world of good, with time management skills, money, and getting to do something I enjoy. It would just be a few hours a week probably, but still.

My birthday is coming up in just over two weeks! After that, I plan on starting my Umbreon mascot costume and that is going to be FUN. *____* I'm really excited about it.

Also, I've been drawing a little lately and that makes me happy. Must finish digital Furret drawing for [livejournal.com profile] poke_arts and scan other drawings!

I. AM GOING TO DO SO BADLY IN TOMORROW'S CHEM EXAM. T____T NOT FOR LACK OF WORK AND STUDYING, EITHER. I'm going to study most of the night and I studied most of today and last night but I don't think it's going to make enough of a difference to save me.

At least she drops one test, and at least once it's over, it's OVER, and I can stop freaking out and allowing this stupid test to rule my life. Even if I fail it. Which I will. I would be absolutely shocked if I got more than a C on this test. D:

Ughhhh I have so much Chemistry to do it's not even funny. I'm so unprepared for the test on Wednesday and my work ethic is down the toilet. :(

I went to the Songbird Team meeting today, which was wonderful and happy, and then went down to Roseville as a bad spur of the moment decision and got home at 10 PM. Of course, I somehow just remembered that 5 Centimeters Per Second is out of print and I saw one at Best Buy about a week ago, but then I forgot that it's Sunday so Best Buy closed before I could get there, making the whole five hour total trip moot (and this was all time that I should have been using to study).

Now I'm trying to talk myself into doing Chemistry work. I feel really unmotivated to do the work partly because I don't really understand what I'm doing all that well, and I don't understand it well enough because I didn't do the work. So basically I'm propagating my own CYCLE OF FAIL for absolutely no reason. WTF SELF, STOP THIS. *Flails unhappily* ;___; At least I still have a few days left to get working and learn the material to a point where I understand it and can do well on the test. To be honest, I almost always do this sort of awful, stressful cramming schedule anyway so I shouldn't be so shocked, but for some reason I always think I'm out of this problem and then it sneaks up on me.

I really just need to get my butt in gear. SERIOUSLY.

Also, Sword of the Stranger is playing in theaters on Thursday evening in Roseville, so I want to try to make it to that. And my driver's test is Thursday afternoon. I think I might try to plan a Dennou Coil marathon or something for this weekend or next weekend.

I've been so bad about updating. XD

Ummm, life has been...stressful still. :/ I won't write much because I can't remember what I want to write about, but lots of bird stuff and hotel stuff and medical stuff has been going on.

First off, the "pinkie/nestling jays" that were "killdeer" (the rehabber who brought them to me said they were killdeer, but when they arrived I determined they were jays and then...???) turned out to be...I have no idea what. One of the two died, unfortunately, and I think it was my fault. I aspirated it on accident because it kept spitting the Exact up and I thought it had recovered, but it died during the night. The remaining one is black with brown tips on the feathers, appears to have a jay-like beak, white flanges, and a pink mouth. It makes a "chichichichi" sound. Er, no idea. I transferred it to another rehabber today, though, because I was too overwhelmed with all the birds and health problems and hotel issues.

Also, the day after I released the crow and magpie, I got another crow in--this time an adult injured crow. I was immediately concerned about it because it was weak enough to be captured, and the lady who brought it to me told me that there were a bunch of other crows around it cawing. Crows often gather around dying crows and make a racket, so that immediately set off warning bells. Long story short, the bird has a broken wing and is diseased, and is probably going to die tonight. We tried to take it to Dr. Lund today, but he was in a surgery and couldn't see the bird. I think even if Dr. Lund saw the bird, it still was too late for it. :( Anyway, I'm hoping it has a peaceful death at least, and if it makes it to the morning I'll bring it to the vet.

I also got another jay--this time, it's a scrub jay. So I have this cage of five jays out on the front deck, and they basically yell and fly around and act insane all of the time. XDDD At least they're all healthy!

This morning at 3 or 4 AM, I had another episode of difficulty breathing. We had to go to the ER again, though like last time, I didn't actually have to be admitted. We just waited outside in the car for a few hours until I felt better. Still, Mom had me take Benadryl, and that in conjunction with only about three hours of sleep made me incredibly exhausted. ._.;

Now I'm not feeling 100% again, but hopefully it'll pass tonight. Hopefully. I don't really want to make any more late-night excursions to the ER.

Also, we booked a hotel room! It's three miles from the convention, which is a lot farther than I wanted, and it's not exactly a top-o'-the-line hotel, but it's inexpensive and available. Gah, finding anything that even has any vacancy at all is nearly impossible at this point.

We may be able to pick Zoe up over the weekend in San Francisco because Dad's going to a poster show! I have to e-mail Zoe and inform her of this. >.>

I hate my health problems. I wish they would all just go away. :( Also, it's kind of depressing that I've gotten in fifteen birds so far, and five have died (if I include the crow, who may or may not be dead at this point).

I have sooo much anime to catch up on. I'm not even going to make goals to finish it right now. XD

*Flails more*

Life feels...a bit stressful right now. Still nothing for the AX hotel, though I really want to try to stay at the Renaissance. Everything is completely full, and the few things that aren't are $300+ per night. Gahhhh, this has to work out! I have to stay close to the convention center because of my costume being horribly huge and impossible to see out of, among other things and...just. Gah. I'm going to have to bug all the hotels three times daily or something in order to try to get in on a cancellation or something. ;_;

Also, I released the crow and magpie today! It was kind of a "meh" release, despite my absolutely loving the two birds. They spent FOREVER sitting in the cage, not even realizing or caring that the door was wide open, and in the end I had to spook them out. The crow took off into the woods nearby--it was very fast and sudden, which was bittersweet. Kind of sad. The magpie has been hanging around a bit more, but I won't be surprised if he migrates to the park where all the other yellow-billed magpies congregate. Anyway, I'll miss those guys, and I wish them the best of luck out there.

I never wrote about my jays! I have seven now. Yes, seven jays. XD Four fledgling stellar's jays that I'm trying to get to self-feed, two little tiny not-even-feathered-yet stellar's jays, and one lonely almost-fledgling scrub jay. I also have the quail, but he eats on his own so he's low-maintenance.

Also, there is a small child at my house. D: DO NOT WANT. He's screeching somewhere off in the distance and he won't leave my birds alone. Granted, he probably won't be here for much longer, but still... I don't mind little kids in small doses if they're well-behaved, or from a distance, but it scares me when they're in my house. Especially my room. My room is a sacred, no-small-children zone. It also scares me when they're around any of my animals.

THE SCREECHING, THE SCREECHING. DO NOT WANT. IT WON'T STOP. NO LITTLE KIDS PLZ.

Ummmm... I think that's it for now. I'm so stressed about AX... I really really need to find somewhere to stay that's nearby and less than $180 a night.

I still don't have a hotel room for AX, and now the hotels are telling me that the convention rate ($140 a night instead of $260) has been discontinued, plus all the hotels are full. Yeah, kind of panicking here.

Dammit, mom, why didn't you let me book one in February, like I wanted to? I knew this was going to be a big problem.

Today was so incredibly...busy and stressful and crazy.

I got up and did the usual prepping of the bird food, shower, changing of clothes, and all that usual morning stuff, and then went immediately to work on my cosplay. I overtook the entire dining room with fake fur of various colors and I used so much fabric glue that I had to open the windows in order to breathe. XD After hours of snipping, gluing, defuzzing, and so on and so forth, the Teto head is now mostly done. Not entirely, because I still have to do a little cutting of the fur so it's all even. There are still a few small spots where you can see the Wonderflex, but I daresay it is about 90% finished.

At about 2 PM, mom took her lunch break and picked me up and brought me to Fabric Boutique with the magpie and crow. There, I slaved over the costume for another four or five hours. I had forgotten to eat before, so I was getting a little lightheaded from hunger. Gaylene helped fit the costume better, we worked together on resolving the tail issue, and now...the costume overall is almost done. SO CLOSE. I've been working on this thing for soooo long, it's going to be amazing to be completely done with it. ;_; All I have to do is finish furring the head and fur the boots. THAT IS ALL. It looks so wonderful. ♥ It's been worth all the work and money and such, and it's going to be even more worth it when I get to stroll around the convention in it.

While I was working on my costume at Fabric Boutique, Jacqui called on my cell phone to remind me that I had phone and intake duty on Wednesday afternoon. :O So, the second I got home, I had to check the phone lines. There were two calls about birds, so I panicked and called a whole bunch of people trying to figure out anywhere the poor little guys could go. After much scrambling about and stressing, I did find a place for them, and I also found a babysitter for my magpie and crow, so at least everything was resolved. Gah, you have no idea how stressful this was, though.

I might have another call about a cat-caught magpie to make tomorrow, too. I got the message at 9:30 PM (because Bill only left a message at my Mom's), so I couldn't figure out whether I should call or not. I could definitely use another magpie, though, even though I'm going away. Gah, I should follow-up on that tomorrow. ;_;

Then while I was doing all this phone business, I also had to pack a ton of stuff for the convention/birds/car ride. It seriously looked like I planned on moving out. I had that much stuff.

The birds are getting picked up at 6 PM tomorrow, so that'll help, and I have a ton of phone calls to make to meet up with friends.

Gah, I'm sure I left stuff out. It was a busy, bustling day, and I suspect tomorrow will also be quite busy.

Oh, randomly, there was a mule deer buck walking right outside the window while I was working on my costume. I ran into the sunroom with a camera when I spotted him, so I got several good pictures of him. He spotted me while I was taking pictures of him, so he just stood there stock-still about twenty feet away for about a half-hour, staring at me. It was really amazing, even though mule deer are common.

Anyway, going to go watch some Bokurano now.
