May. 23rd, 2007 11:13 pmToday was so incredibly...busy and stressful and crazy.
I got up and did the usual prepping of the bird food, shower, changing of clothes, and all that usual morning stuff, and then went immediately to work on my cosplay. I overtook the entire dining room with fake fur of various colors and I used so much fabric glue that I had to open the windows in order to breathe. XD After hours of snipping, gluing, defuzzing, and so on and so forth, the Teto head is now mostly done. Not entirely, because I still have to do a little cutting of the fur so it's all even. There are still a few small spots where you can see the Wonderflex, but I daresay it is about 90% finished.
At about 2 PM, mom took her lunch break and picked me up and brought me to Fabric Boutique with the magpie and crow. There, I slaved over the costume for another four or five hours. I had forgotten to eat before, so I was getting a little lightheaded from hunger. Gaylene helped fit the costume better, we worked together on resolving the tail issue, and now...the costume overall is almost done. SO CLOSE. I've been working on this thing for soooo long, it's going to be amazing to be completely done with it. ;_; All I have to do is finish furring the head and fur the boots. THAT IS ALL. It looks so wonderful. ♥ It's been worth all the work and money and such, and it's going to be even more worth it when I get to stroll around the convention in it.
While I was working on my costume at Fabric Boutique, Jacqui called on my cell phone to remind me that I had phone and intake duty on Wednesday afternoon. :O So, the second I got home, I had to check the phone lines. There were two calls about birds, so I panicked and called a whole bunch of people trying to figure out anywhere the poor little guys could go. After much scrambling about and stressing, I did find a place for them, and I also found a babysitter for my magpie and crow, so at least everything was resolved. Gah, you have no idea how stressful this was, though.
I might have another call about a cat-caught magpie to make tomorrow, too. I got the message at 9:30 PM (because Bill only left a message at my Mom's), so I couldn't figure out whether I should call or not. I could definitely use another magpie, though, even though I'm going away. Gah, I should follow-up on that tomorrow. ;_;
Then while I was doing all this phone business, I also had to pack a ton of stuff for the convention/birds/car ride. It seriously looked like I planned on moving out. I had that much stuff.
The birds are getting picked up at 6 PM tomorrow, so that'll help, and I have a ton of phone calls to make to meet up with friends.
Gah, I'm sure I left stuff out. It was a busy, bustling day, and I suspect tomorrow will also be quite busy.
Oh, randomly, there was a mule deer buck walking right outside the window while I was working on my costume. I ran into the sunroom with a camera when I spotted him, so I got several good pictures of him. He spotted me while I was taking pictures of him, so he just stood there stock-still about twenty feet away for about a half-hour, staring at me. It was really amazing, even though mule deer are common.
Anyway, going to go watch some Bokurano now.

May. 22nd, 2007 09:07 pmI just caught Pokérus for the first time in my Pokémon training career of ten years! :O And while fighting Cresselia, no less! I just caught Cresselia and got Pokérus within two battles. O_O;
I also got a legit Celebi on GTS today in exchange for one of my Jirachi. It's level 100 and has crappy stats, but, hey, not complaining. It's not like I'm going to use it in battle anyway. XD And yesterday I got that shiny Altaria in a trade for practically nothing.
I can't believe my luck. Now all I need to do is run into a shiny Pokémon of my own, and I'm set!
(Okay, I actually need Manaphy and Deoxys and Lugia and Ho-oh and the three dogs, too, but that's beside the point.)
Also, I should be working on cosplay right now. XD I'll do that soon! And I have time to work on cosplay tomorrow, too.

FOUR MORE DAYS!
May. 21st, 2007 11:13 pmMaaaaan, now that Fanime is coming up so fast, all the sudden my humongous list of anime I want to watch is coming back to haunt me. XD I don't know, maybe I'll try to finish a series or two before the con...? I doubt I'll have time to, but I might try. I'd really like to see Code Geass and Higurashi, at least, if not others. I've been keeping up with the three current series I chose to watch out of this season (Darker than Black, Romeo x Juliet, and Bokurano--all of which I'm enjoying very much), but when it comes to watching the finished series, I've been failing at watching them.
I'm pretty excited about Fanime, but for some reason it still feels so distant! It's weird. Seeing pictures of the Fanime banners that are currently spread throughout San Jose makes it feel a little more real, though--as well as starting to create a schedule of events and gatherings to go to. :D Frequenting the Cosplay.com forums also helps a little.
I'm hoping to finish my costume tomorrow, but I'm a little worried about getting a ride because mom's working tonight and dad (as usual) will be at work until 5-6 PM-ish. We'll see if that works out, though it probably will.
I had another lazy day of trading Pokémon and feeding the baby birds today. My Pokédex is up to 255 Pokémon owned, and I'm working on it more every day. ALSO, I GOT A SHINY ALTARIA TODAY. I traded for it, so it wasn't filled with that rush of actually finding one, but it's level 86 and absolutely beautiful. *_* I've wanted one for absolutely forever (I even bred and hatched over 100 Swablu at one point in hopes of a shiny one), and the guy who traded me for it was so incredibly nice to give it up. All I gave him was an Aipom and a Master Ball (of which I had two), so it was basically just an act of charity that he traded it.
Uh, my computer is freaking out for some reason, so I'd better go before it kills my entry. ._.l; I guess the basic gist of my current feelings is: OMG, HOW DID FANIME COME UP SO FAST?
Yeah, still kind of in denial here. Getting better, though.

May. 20th, 2007 11:59 pmI've been so bad about writing entries lately. ._.; I hate it when I get behind on entries, but I've just been busy and haven't felt like writing much.
Yesterday morning I woke up at 6 AM having difficulty breathing, so I went to the ER again. I didn't actually go INTO the ER, nor was I admitted, but we sat out in the parking lot while I decided whether or not I'd get over it. I did get over it, though it took me about two hours or so. Thankfully I got home in time to wake up the birds and feed them as regularly scheduled. XD;
We're starting to think this is some sort of asthma or something, as it doesn't appear to be an allergic reaction. I'm getting an inhaler soon, so we'll see if that helps or not and go from there. I'll hopefully have this thing somewhat pinned down by Fanime, because the last thing I need is to need to go to the ER while I'm there. I do not allow things to ruin Fanime. Fanime is a sacred event that should not be marred by bad health or discomfort.
I've felt just fine today, though!
I just got done with a huge
pokewifi trading spree, which is responsible for my lack of a proper entry. XD My Pokédex is getting bigger! Once I hatch all my eggs, I'll probably have about 240 Pokémon or something close to it.
Also, finally getting really excited about Fanime! I still have to finish my costume... I think that's going to happen Tuesday.
Anyway, I'm tired and I'm going to have the magpie waking me up at about 8-9 AM, so I'd better go to bed. ._.; I'll write a better entry tomorrow.

May. 16th, 2007 11:08 pmToday was interesting.
I didn't get much sleep last night on account of checking on the baby crow frequently, but I tried to make up for the lack of sleep by sleeping between feedings this morning. At about 9 AM, I went with Mom for her physical therapy appointment (brought the crow along) and had her drop me and the crow off at Fabric Boutique. I worked on my costume for about three hours, feeding the crow every half-hour or so, and then went to the allergist. The appointment went fine, but next time is going to be unpleasant. :/ It will involve lots of sharp pointy things and I don't enjoy having sharp pointy things used on me at all. And mom made the appointment for the day before Fanime! WTF, mom? D:
To cut a long, boring story short, I also ended up with a baby Yellow-billed Magpie today. ♥ It's terribly cute and funny. When I feed it, it yells "RIP! RIP! RIP!" and it likes to hop around like a little frog. Although I couldn't find much information on it online, I've heard that recently the numbers of Yellow-billed Magpies have declined and it's possible they could end up endangered...or something.
I'd better go get some sleep... I'll be up early tomorrow feeding birds. ^^;

ZOMG IT IS SUMMER BREAK
May. 11th, 2007 11:48 pmToday went pretty darn well considering I got about three hours of sleep last night, if that. My Biology final was...not splendid, but okay--and it's over and I'm free for months and I can't believe it. I'm so happy, you have no idea.
I'm sorry I haven't been commenting much, everyone! I've been busy and every time I try to go through everyone's journals and make comments, I realize I have fifty-some windows open and then end up distracted.
This next week is going to be INSANE. In a good way, but insane nonetheless. I'm currently working on my Teto head (the ears are HUGE and HEAVY), though I should be going to sleep, seeing as I have to wake up at 8:30 AM to go to Fabric Boutique and work more on my costume. I'm really thrilled that I'm going to actually get all/pretty much all of it done within the next couple o' weeks. Then it's Fanime! :O I'm totally in denial that Fanime is coming up so fast. I'm super-excited to debut my costume once I get it all done. ♥
So, then on Sunday I'm going down to the Bay Area to visit my grandma for Mother's Day. Bay Area trips are always always always good simply because I ADORE the Bay Area and the drive to it and listening to music on the way there and... It is major love. Even if I don't do anything while I'm there.
Monday I might work on cosplay some more if I need to, might watch the animals... I don't know, really.
Tuesday I'm gathering supplies for rehabbing at Jacqui's house, and Wednesday I can finally get birds in! SO, BABY BIRD PICTURES EVERYONE! Yayyyy! Of course, then Mom scheduled an appointment with the allergist on Wednesday, too, so that's a bit of a problem that needs working out.
On top of this all, I have a Pokémon Diamond and Pearl tournament I'm participating in, tons of anime to watch, and I don't even know what else. @_@
Speaking of Pokémon Diamond, I have SIX eggs to hatch! Riolu, Eevee, Phione, and the three unknown eggs I got for the tournament.
Back to cosplay. You should see how much Wonderflex there is on the floor now. O_o;

May. 8th, 2007 10:36 pmCURRENTLY WORKING ON GETTING WIFI TOTALLY WORKING AND A FRIEND CODE ON POKEMON. So I will make a post when I finish that. I expect every last one of you who has the game to add me so we can trade/battle/talk/whatever.
Math final tomorrow. Need to study more. Need to go to bed. Want to play Pokémon instead. But can't.
Also: VERY EXCITED ABOUT COSPLAY. WITHIN A WEEK OR SO (maybe a little more :<), I WILL PROBABLY HAVE A COMPLETED COSTUME. OMG. I CAN'T WAIT!
Must sleep. Must do well on finals. Must not get too sidetracked by Pokémon, cosplay, and impending birds. Will have to study tomorrow morning. And tomorrow. And Thursday. It will be difficult. But I. WILL. LIVE. SOMEHOW.
CHICKENS ARE THE BEST ANIMALS ALIVE. AND DUCKS ARE REALLY COOL, TOO. I SHOULD POST PICTURES.
