A big big big thanks to [livejournal.com profile] dollhouse__x for not only letting me room with her at AX, but also letting [livejournal.com profile] ensuing and Nur, who ended up without a room as well, stay with us. This is going to be so much fun! :D You won't regret having us as roommates, Jessica, I promise! \o/ It's a huge help that you offered and I can't thank you enough!

I guess the plan, assuming mom can get the one night off of work, is that mom is going to come down to LA with me on Wednesday and we're both going to get a hotel room somewhere in the general area for Wednesday night. (Mom insisted she wanted to come along for Wednesday night after the disaster that was last AX's rooming situation, as well as because she doesn't want me being the only driver on such a long trip.) Thursday at check-in time I'll move my stuff to [livejournal.com profile] dollhouse__x's room and go back to the con. I may end up taking Amtrak back home after the con, we'll see.

[livejournal.com profile] toggy, you and your friend are welcome to come down in my car with mom and I if you can get a ride to somewhere near I-5 on Wednesday and we can meet. :) The only thing is then I'm taking the train back home most likely, so you've got to figure out what you want to do as far as that goes. If you want to take the train as well, it's not as bad cost-wise if you just take it one way. I'm sorry I can't take you both ways and pick you up in the bay area! I wish I could help more. ;;

AX being so far away makes it kind of a hassle to plan, but it's so worth it in the end. Ahhh, the guests this year at AX! *A*

Ah, finally posting again! I've been so busy during and since Anime Expo that I haven't had a chance to do anything online lately. I'm not going to say much now because Zoe and I are going to watch some more Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni shortly, but AX was...well, it was a lot of fun. It was very badly organized, I had some issues with it, and it was definitely the most stressful con to date, BUT I still had a great time. Don't get me wrong there. I still loved it, and there were tons of great guests and it had lots of amazing parts.

I have approximately 800 posts to catch up on on my f-list and I don't have time to catch up on them now, so it'll probably be about 1000 by the time I get to it. ^^;; I'm not sure if I'll be leaving many comments, but I'll try.

Anyway, definitely too much to talk about right now. XD

I really, really didn't have any time to write in the last few days, as we picked Zoe up several days ago at the rock poster show in San Francisco and since then, I've been busy caring for my birds, packing for Anime Expo, watching anime, and playing Bust a Move. My four stellar's jays went to the flight cage and the crow, scrub jay, and quail went to birdsitters for the weekend. It's been a busy couple of days.

I'm currently posting from the Anime Expo hotel because there's wireless here. It's 7:36 AM, and once Zoe gets out of the shower we'll be heading to continental breakfast and then the convention! Luckily, we were able to pick up our badges last night, so no huge registration lines for me. :D

This convention is definitely going to rock. XD

I've been so bad about updating. XD

Ummm, life has been...stressful still. :/ I won't write much because I can't remember what I want to write about, but lots of bird stuff and hotel stuff and medical stuff has been going on.

First off, the "pinkie/nestling jays" that were "killdeer" (the rehabber who brought them to me said they were killdeer, but when they arrived I determined they were jays and then...???) turned out to be...I have no idea what. One of the two died, unfortunately, and I think it was my fault. I aspirated it on accident because it kept spitting the Exact up and I thought it had recovered, but it died during the night. The remaining one is black with brown tips on the feathers, appears to have a jay-like beak, white flanges, and a pink mouth. It makes a "chichichichi" sound. Er, no idea. I transferred it to another rehabber today, though, because I was too overwhelmed with all the birds and health problems and hotel issues.

Also, the day after I released the crow and magpie, I got another crow in--this time an adult injured crow. I was immediately concerned about it because it was weak enough to be captured, and the lady who brought it to me told me that there were a bunch of other crows around it cawing. Crows often gather around dying crows and make a racket, so that immediately set off warning bells. Long story short, the bird has a broken wing and is diseased, and is probably going to die tonight. We tried to take it to Dr. Lund today, but he was in a surgery and couldn't see the bird. I think even if Dr. Lund saw the bird, it still was too late for it. :( Anyway, I'm hoping it has a peaceful death at least, and if it makes it to the morning I'll bring it to the vet.

I also got another jay--this time, it's a scrub jay. So I have this cage of five jays out on the front deck, and they basically yell and fly around and act insane all of the time. XDDD At least they're all healthy!

This morning at 3 or 4 AM, I had another episode of difficulty breathing. We had to go to the ER again, though like last time, I didn't actually have to be admitted. We just waited outside in the car for a few hours until I felt better. Still, Mom had me take Benadryl, and that in conjunction with only about three hours of sleep made me incredibly exhausted. ._.;

Now I'm not feeling 100% again, but hopefully it'll pass tonight. Hopefully. I don't really want to make any more late-night excursions to the ER.

Also, we booked a hotel room! It's three miles from the convention, which is a lot farther than I wanted, and it's not exactly a top-o'-the-line hotel, but it's inexpensive and available. Gah, finding anything that even has any vacancy at all is nearly impossible at this point.

We may be able to pick Zoe up over the weekend in San Francisco because Dad's going to a poster show! I have to e-mail Zoe and inform her of this. >.>

I hate my health problems. I wish they would all just go away. :( Also, it's kind of depressing that I've gotten in fifteen birds so far, and five have died (if I include the crow, who may or may not be dead at this point).

I have sooo much anime to catch up on. I'm not even going to make goals to finish it right now. XD

*Flails more*

Life feels...a bit stressful right now. Still nothing for the AX hotel, though I really want to try to stay at the Renaissance. Everything is completely full, and the few things that aren't are $300+ per night. Gahhhh, this has to work out! I have to stay close to the convention center because of my costume being horribly huge and impossible to see out of, among other things and...just. Gah. I'm going to have to bug all the hotels three times daily or something in order to try to get in on a cancellation or something. ;_;

Also, I released the crow and magpie today! It was kind of a "meh" release, despite my absolutely loving the two birds. They spent FOREVER sitting in the cage, not even realizing or caring that the door was wide open, and in the end I had to spook them out. The crow took off into the woods nearby--it was very fast and sudden, which was bittersweet. Kind of sad. The magpie has been hanging around a bit more, but I won't be surprised if he migrates to the park where all the other yellow-billed magpies congregate. Anyway, I'll miss those guys, and I wish them the best of luck out there.

I never wrote about my jays! I have seven now. Yes, seven jays. XD Four fledgling stellar's jays that I'm trying to get to self-feed, two little tiny not-even-feathered-yet stellar's jays, and one lonely almost-fledgling scrub jay. I also have the quail, but he eats on his own so he's low-maintenance.

Also, there is a small child at my house. D: DO NOT WANT. He's screeching somewhere off in the distance and he won't leave my birds alone. Granted, he probably won't be here for much longer, but still... I don't mind little kids in small doses if they're well-behaved, or from a distance, but it scares me when they're in my house. Especially my room. My room is a sacred, no-small-children zone. It also scares me when they're around any of my animals.

THE SCREECHING, THE SCREECHING. DO NOT WANT. IT WON'T STOP. NO LITTLE KIDS PLZ.

Ummmm... I think that's it for now. I'm so stressed about AX... I really really need to find somewhere to stay that's nearby and less than $180 a night.

I still don't have a hotel room for AX, and now the hotels are telling me that the convention rate ($140 a night instead of $260) has been discontinued, plus all the hotels are full. Yeah, kind of panicking here.

Dammit, mom, why didn't you let me book one in February, like I wanted to? I knew this was going to be a big problem.

I've been sooo terrible about updating. I guess I'm just lazy and obsessed with the Pokémon games as usual and...um, busy, I guess. Sort of.

I saw almost all of the Mob yesterday night at the Thursday night market! (Note: The Mob is what my group of friends have nicknamed ourselves. There are about fifteen or so of us.) It was a lot of fun, although I didn't get to hang out with them for too long and it basically consisted of a bunch of scattered, amusing conversations. I feel like the group dynamics have changed because the individuals have changed, but...well, change is unavoidable, and I still adore them all. Being together with so many of them brought back lots of wonderful memories.

AX is so frickin' close and I'm really excited but I haven't even booked a hotel room yet! I'm so afraid I'm not going to be able to get a room at the Hyatt, and that's where I really need to stay because of cosplay. :( Anyway, I'll start working on that tomorrow. I really really really really hope it works out to get a room there somehow, because otherwise I don't know what I'm going to do.

Today we went down to Davis to visit my Grandma. I brought the four jays along, which was entertaining, picked yummy cherries in her backyard, and talked to her about random things.

I've been getting so lucky with the shiny Pokémon as far as trades go. :D

I'm sure I have a million other things to talk about, but to be honest I'm just not motivated these days as far as blogging goes. I am reading my F-list religiously, though, even if I don't always leave comments. Just know I always read. :)

OKAY. I shall now write...a real entry. :O

The mourning dove I got in a few days ago? She was diseased. :( When she came in, I thought she was healthy, but as time went on she proved me wrong by doing nothing by sitting, puffed-up, in the bottom of the cage, not wanting to eat, and some TMI kind of yucky stuff I won't get into. Once I figured out she was diseased, there was much disinfecting and antibacterial wipes and rubber gloves. It was pretty hardcore. She died the night before last. I made her nice and comfortable before she went--I made sure it was warm, dark, and quiet for her, and I think she went peacefully.

I'm getting reeeally attached to the quail. XD I call him "Little" and to feed him, I put drops of Exact on my hand, and he sucks it up with his little beak. He seems to be doing pretty well for a lone quail--usually they run around and peep until they exhaust themselves, but he hides and only peeps periodically. He seems quite energetic. :) I might see if I can borrow some of Janey's chicks (because I'm in between chicks here! My chicks I got in April are pretty much grown up, and while my hens have three nests going, I'm not sure when those eggs are going to hatch) to keep him company and teach him to peck at the ground.

The crow and magpie are going to the flight cage on Sunday! I'm excited for them, although I'll miss the funny guys. XD They get to be releaed at my house, though! So it's not like I'll never see them again after the flight cage. They're finally eating on their own.

The stellar's jays are doing well. :) I got another one from Sharon yesterday, so I have four now. XD It's really cute because the one Sharon brought me is apparently the exact same age as the three I had already--once I put him in the nest with the other ones, I couldn't even tell them apart! It worked out perfectly.

I've been playing Pokémon Diamond obsessively, as usual. My Pokédex is doing fairly well... I have 350-something in my Pokédex. I've been doing a lot of trades on [livejournal.com profile] pokewifi. Someone told me he'd trade me a Ho-oh and Deoxys for several things, but he hasn't shown up since I talked to him about it two days ago. :(

There are Eevee in the Trophy Garden today, so I'm going to be chaining them like crazy all day to try to get a shiny one. :O

Also, Bokurano is really intriguing! I've seen through seven now, and I really enjoy it. It's...disturbing and interesting, like I was hoping it was going to be. Much love for it. ♥ I need to watch the newest episodes of Darker than Black and Romeo x Juliet.

I ordered a ticket for the SOS-dan thing at Anime Expo! I'm soooo excited.

This is the cutest thing ever:

I'll do a picture post at some point... I just need to find the motivation to resize and upload everything. ^^;;

I'M BACK!

As usual, it was OMFG AWESOME and now I'm really really tired. And I have 300-some entries on my friends-list to check up on.

Report will probably follow at some point.

HAPPY 528!

ALSO, AMAZING NEWS:

Japanese Haruhi Cast to Perform Live at Anime Expo
Anime Expo, Bandai Entertainment, and Kadokawa Pictures USA have announced that the three main Japanese voice actresses and singers of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya comedy anime will appear and perform at Anime Expo 2007. The Guest of Honor appearances of Aya Hirano (Haruhi), Yūko Gotō (Mikuru), and Minori Chihara (Yuki) is part of the "SOS Brigade Invasion Tour" campaign. The three will perform live at 4:30 p.m. PT on Saturday, June 30 at the Long Beach Arena in California. The concert will also include the winners of the Haruhi Dance contest.

YESSSSSS. The only way this could possibly get better is if Yoko Kanno and Mamoru Miyano came. *_*

For the J-rock people on my friends-list, SKIN—-the J-rock group featuring Yoshiki, Gackt, Miyavi, and Sugizo—-is scheduled to debut at Anime Expo in 2007. I'm not really into 'em, but I recognize a really really big deal when I see one.

Now, must rest. Tiiiiired. So, so very tired.
