So, I just called my mom at work (which is the hospital) at 11 PM to excitedly inform her that CHICKEN/GUINEA FOWL HYBRIDS ARE POSSIBLE AND EXIST! AND PEACOCK/GUINEA FOWL HYBRIDS, TOO!

Thankfully she is used to me doing bizarre things like this so she wasn't bothered at all by me calling her at work to share this momentous discovery. :'D

Guys, I am SUCH a geek, ahaha.

Reading Berserk while the Chi's Sweet Home theme plays in the background is a rather strange experience to say the least. XD

(For the record, the Chi's Sweet Home theme song just happened to come up on my playlist. It's not as though I was attempting to achieve some extreme level of cognitive dissonance by playing it while reading Berserk.)

Also, the guy I ordered the Pikachu DS from basically says he can't get it and he's giving me a refund. So, instead I talked to Gin (heerosferret) about ordering one from Yahoo Auctions, so that'll probably be how I get my Pikachu DS. Gin rocks. ♥

Now I should be sleeping, but instead I'm looking at cosplayers. Go me.

Also, I just now realized I never posted this, so I shall inflict it upon all of you now except Zoe, because she's already seen it about five hundred times.

I NOW PRESENT...ONE OF MY FAVORITE YOUTUBE VIDEOS EVAR. It's a little slow at first, but keep watching. It's very special. XD I've watched it so many times, I'm not even going to admit to it. Only Zoe knows. It still cracks me up, somehow.



*Sigh* Still a bit upset about the jay. It probably doesn't help that I only had about four or five hours of sleep. :/ My other young jay, who was right next to the dead one, seems a little...off...for some reason, too, so I gave him some antibiotics just in case. He's missing a tiny bit of fluff, his balance and wings seem subtly odd, and he has what could *possibly* be a very tiny puncture wound on his stomach. It's not much to worry about, I know, but sometimes the smallest hints can be indicative of big problems. I'm hoping I don't wake up to another dead bird tomorrow.

The arm is feeling a little better. I'm being careful to rest it.

RL Friends-- Anyone want to come stay with me way out on McCourtney for five days in mid-August? I'm housesitting there and I would be ever-so-grateful to have a companion to watch anime with and converse with when I'm not doing chores. I'd be doing a lot of animal-related work (as the lady has dogs, big draft horses, fawns, and other animals), but we could hang out between and I wouldn't make you do any work at all, so you could just relax and read or watch things or whatever when I'm doing stuff. YOU GET TO HANG OUT WITH THE BABY FAWNS I'M TAKING CARE OF IF YOU COME. LOTS OF THEM. So, um, yeah, let me know if you want to come. It'll be like a vacation. :D [/RL friends message]

Today feels like a very Pokémon-centric day, though I'm not sure why. O_o; All I did was get all excited about my Pikachu DS (which will hopefully ship tomorrow) and do one trade on wifi. Er. Whatever, mind.

My dad is crazy. A couple days ago, he randomly was like "HEY KRISTIN DO YOU WANT A CEILING FAN IN YOUR ROOM?" I said something to the effect of, "Uh, sure. That would be kind of nice. I don't really care either way, though." So today, it turns out he randomly bought me a ceiling fan and he spent part of the day installing it. Ever since he did so, he has been coming into my room about every hour to stare at it, poke at the remote control, and interrogate me about whether I like it or not. ^^; Er, dad, it's very nice, it was very nice an hour ago, and it also happens to be the same ceiling fan we have in our living room and in your room. So I'm not quite sure what the obsession is here. XD

Also, slowly getting caught up in Darker than Black! I feel like such a bad fan for not being caught up, but it's kind of difficult to be caught up when your media players wouldn't work. ._.; OMG EPISODE TWELVE. SO GOOD. This is the sort of episode I've been waiting for! I must admit, I didn't completely and totally understand what happened because I was a little distracted, but what I did get was fascinating. I was hoping the show would turn out amazing like this. ♥ I hope it continues to be great like this because I love the concept of the Gate, and the fake sky and...yeah, I love it. Also, the Yoko Kanno music (as usual) rocks hardcore. Li is the best. I always call him Hei, but I'm more into the Li side of him, so I never know what to call him because I feel like Hei is his "real" name, but ASKDSFJ I don't know.

Also watched episode ten of Bokurano. I thought it was a weaker episode, but I love the series so I don't really mind.

I downloaded tons more anime today. I COULDN'T RESIST, even though I have about a million series I need to watch and the list keeps growing. I downloaded another episode of Denno Coil though I haven't started it yet, I downloaded the first two episodes of Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, Turn A Gundam is still downloading, and the first four episodes of a series called Ookiku Furikabutte (which is about baseball, but I've heard it's really amazing so far). I imagine my list will continue to grow and grow until it is the most epic list ever.

My dad is slightly disgruntled because I have a dirty Pikachu plush in the bathroom drying off. Unfortunately, all my cleaning attempts have been thwarted. :( This Pikachu plush has a story, though--in '98, we were driving along Allison Ranch Road (where we used to live) in the rain, and we saw this dirty, bedraggled Pikachu on top of a fence post. I couldn't just leave it there, so I asked Mom to pull over so we could "rescue" it. It took a lot of prying off and struggle, as it was nailed to the fence post, but we did manage to "rescue" it. XD It never will be clean, though, and to be fair, it's a pretty ugly plush. But still, I feel it was a noble effort!

Also, I found another WTF game. I could theoretically just add this to my other post, but I don't feel it would get the as many WTFs as it deserves if I do that. It's strangely addictive, too, once you figure out what you're supposed to do. XD

Another pretty uneventful day watching the pets while Mom worked dayshift. I just cleaned the house, took care of the animals, doodled some Pokémon, and that's about it. There's construction going on across the street, and for some reason asphalt was just put on the road early in the morning. The construction was loud, and the asphalt smelled pretty strong.

We went to where Rivi (our horse) is boarded about an hour ago, and I stayed in the car playing Pokémon. I opened the door for a second because I wanted to hear the crickets, and the orange cat that lives there crawled into my lap. It was so cute. He kept purring and purring and rubbing his face on me and such. I still have his fur all over me. XD

Currently hoping to get the Pikachu DS. I have my fingers crossed!

I'm probably getting in a baby bluebird tomorrow. I don't know if I'll transfer it to another rehabber or not, but it sounds really cute. It'll also be my phone day tomorrow, which will mean lots of intake and slight insanity.

OKAY. I shall now write...a real entry. :O

The mourning dove I got in a few days ago? She was diseased. :( When she came in, I thought she was healthy, but as time went on she proved me wrong by doing nothing by sitting, puffed-up, in the bottom of the cage, not wanting to eat, and some TMI kind of yucky stuff I won't get into. Once I figured out she was diseased, there was much disinfecting and antibacterial wipes and rubber gloves. It was pretty hardcore. She died the night before last. I made her nice and comfortable before she went--I made sure it was warm, dark, and quiet for her, and I think she went peacefully.

I'm getting reeeally attached to the quail. XD I call him "Little" and to feed him, I put drops of Exact on my hand, and he sucks it up with his little beak. He seems to be doing pretty well for a lone quail--usually they run around and peep until they exhaust themselves, but he hides and only peeps periodically. He seems quite energetic. :) I might see if I can borrow some of Janey's chicks (because I'm in between chicks here! My chicks I got in April are pretty much grown up, and while my hens have three nests going, I'm not sure when those eggs are going to hatch) to keep him company and teach him to peck at the ground.

The crow and magpie are going to the flight cage on Sunday! I'm excited for them, although I'll miss the funny guys. XD They get to be releaed at my house, though! So it's not like I'll never see them again after the flight cage. They're finally eating on their own.

The stellar's jays are doing well. :) I got another one from Sharon yesterday, so I have four now. XD It's really cute because the one Sharon brought me is apparently the exact same age as the three I had already--once I put him in the nest with the other ones, I couldn't even tell them apart! It worked out perfectly.

I've been playing Pokémon Diamond obsessively, as usual. My Pokédex is doing fairly well... I have 350-something in my Pokédex. I've been doing a lot of trades on pokewifi. Someone told me he'd trade me a Ho-oh and Deoxys for several things, but he hasn't shown up since I talked to him about it two days ago. :(

There are Eevee in the Trophy Garden today, so I'm going to be chaining them like crazy all day to try to get a shiny one. :O

Also, Bokurano is really intriguing! I've seen through seven now, and I really enjoy it. It's...disturbing and interesting, like I was hoping it was going to be. Much love for it. ♥ I need to watch the newest episodes of Darker than Black and Romeo x Juliet.

I ordered a ticket for the SOS-dan thing at Anime Expo! I'm soooo excited.
