May. 4th, 2009 07:20 pmSorry for the lack of pictures/updates/comments--I've been really fatigued lately, probably due to the new medication I'm on, and honestly I don't feel up to doing much at all.
The Good News:
+ We're keeping Honey! She's so wonderful and pretty and fits into our family well, and I couldn't bear to find her a home.
The Bad News:
- Our outdoor cat Bob--who we've had for several months--was diagnosed with Feline Leukemia Virus today. We're waiting for the results of a test to see what phase it's in before we decide what we're going to do... If it's in the persistent stage, we have to put her down. If it isn't, we may try to find her a home where she can be alone or with other FeLV+ cats because we don't want to expose our other cats any more than they already have been. We're going to have them tested in a few months and I'm really, really hoping they didn't get it from her... They haven't been in much contact with her at all and they've both been vaccinated, but I can't help but be nervous about it.
Regardless of what happens, it's sad news for Bob because she loves being outdoors and has never been an indoor cat, and she can no longer live outside. We have her in the garage for now. If we don't have to euthanize her, I'm hoping we can find somewhere for her to live out whatever time she has left. I don't know--it's a sad situation for Bob no matter how you look at it. She's such a sweet, pretty cat, too.
- I've been bad with money lately and some of my auctions have come up being way more than expected, so I have to somehow magically come up with $200 in the next two days so I can get my SMJ stuff shipped to me and sell it so I'll have money for Fanime. Ughhh I really need to figure out what to do... I might just try to sell off more of my collection but it's really hard for me to narrow it down, and the items I have for sale aren't selling well even with them priced very low. I need to figure out something, and SOON.
I need to call the shelter to ask about whether Honey was vaccinated by her previous owner and take her to the vet soon. Let's just hope there's nothing wrong with her... She certainly looks and seems healthy, at least.
I just want my energy back. :(

Date: 2009-05-05 07:14 am (UTC)Yes, it's sad about Bob. We'll make the decision that prevents her suffering as much as possible, whether that's finding her a home away from other cats or putting her to sleep.
Thank you! I hope it returns soon as well. If it doesn't in a few days, time to switch medications I think.
