May. 4th, 2009 07:20 pmSorry for the lack of pictures/updates/comments--I've been really fatigued lately, probably due to the new medication I'm on, and honestly I don't feel up to doing much at all.
The Good News:
+ We're keeping Honey! She's so wonderful and pretty and fits into our family well, and I couldn't bear to find her a home.
The Bad News:
- Our outdoor cat Bob--who we've had for several months--was diagnosed with Feline Leukemia Virus today. We're waiting for the results of a test to see what phase it's in before we decide what we're going to do... If it's in the persistent stage, we have to put her down. If it isn't, we may try to find her a home where she can be alone or with other FeLV+ cats because we don't want to expose our other cats any more than they already have been. We're going to have them tested in a few months and I'm really, really hoping they didn't get it from her... They haven't been in much contact with her at all and they've both been vaccinated, but I can't help but be nervous about it.
Regardless of what happens, it's sad news for Bob because she loves being outdoors and has never been an indoor cat, and she can no longer live outside. We have her in the garage for now. If we don't have to euthanize her, I'm hoping we can find somewhere for her to live out whatever time she has left. I don't know--it's a sad situation for Bob no matter how you look at it. She's such a sweet, pretty cat, too.
- I've been bad with money lately and some of my auctions have come up being way more than expected, so I have to somehow magically come up with $200 in the next two days so I can get my SMJ stuff shipped to me and sell it so I'll have money for Fanime. Ughhh I really need to figure out what to do... I might just try to sell off more of my collection but it's really hard for me to narrow it down, and the items I have for sale aren't selling well even with them priced very low. I need to figure out something, and SOON.
I need to call the shelter to ask about whether Honey was vaccinated by her previous owner and take her to the vet soon. Let's just hope there's nothing wrong with her... She certainly looks and seems healthy, at least.
I just want my energy back. :(

Date: 2009-05-05 07:03 am (UTC)Yeah, the news about Bob is sad and disappointing, but I'm hoping maybe something will work out for her... Finding her an indoor home certainly isn't ideal, but it'll be easier than if we have to put her down. She's a sweet kitty, so that'll be sad if it has to happen, but at least she won't have to suffer in that case.
Thanks. Yeah, with lots it's always kind of a gamble because sometimes the shipping is pretty reasonable and sometimes it's just... D: I was expecting several of these lots I won to be around $30 each, but instead they're around $65 each, eek. x___x; I advise against getting too involved in SMJ and all that if you can. Of course it has its great advantages, but I'm starting to think it's time to quit it or at least take out almost all of my deposit so my limit is more reasonable.

Date: 2009-05-05 07:08 am (UTC)Yeah, feline leukemia virus is not actually a leukemia at all, but they had already named it that when they made that discovery. No real way to treat it... I guess there is a treatment, but it sounds new/not necessarily that effective/extremely expensive based off the little mentions I've heard of it. It is sad. :( I hope we find a way for her to live out her remaining days happily. And if not...at least we will be able to give her peace before the suffering sets in.
Hopefully! I'm pretty sure this exhaustion is a result of the medication I just started taking, but I just hope it stops soon. If I'm still exhausted in a few days from it I'm going to have to call my doctor. :/

Date: 2009-05-05 03:37 am (UTC)I'm so sorry about your kitty, though! ;A; I think the cat wed had when I was little got Leukemia.. It was a long time ago, so I don't remember how it turned out, I just remember him dying of old age. I hope Bob is well enough to be able to go live somewhere. :( It's always so sad to have to put them down.
On the somewhat bright side, you may be losing one animal, but you've also gained two. ;; Bittersweet.

Date: 2009-05-05 07:12 am (UTC)Yes, it's a sad situation with Bob... She could theoretically live another couple of years, so it's possible that we'll just be able to find her a home where she can do that, but I think the saddest part is that she can't live outside anymore like she has her whole life. Hopefully we won't have to put her down, but if we do... Well, it's just part of having animals, sadly. :(

Date: 2009-05-05 07:14 am (UTC)Yes, it's sad about Bob. We'll make the decision that prevents her suffering as much as possible, whether that's finding her a home away from other cats or putting her to sleep.
Thank you! I hope it returns soon as well. If it doesn't in a few days, time to switch medications I think.

Date: 2009-05-05 06:49 am (UTC)Can't you borrow money? If not from family/friends then there are still internet friends, I have around $40 in my paypal with no plans to spend it soon, if it would help just ask.

Date: 2009-05-05 07:26 am (UTC)Ah, my parents won't lend me money because they're divorced and both own houses, so they can't really afford to and are unwilling to, and my friends aren't well off, either. ;0;
Oh, that is so so sweet of you to offer! I have the best online friends ever. ;____; *Clings* I can only pay you back in a week and a half or two weeks, though (whenever my massive box comes in)... Is that all right? If it isn't, I completely understand. If you could lend it to me, though, I would be extremely appreciative and in addition to paying you back in full ASAP you can have $10-15 worth of merchandise free from all my massive (SERIOUSLY--like twenty or thirty lots of worth of stuff) sales, with you getting first pick of items before I post the sales, and a free drawing on top of that. Let me know what you think, and again I completely understand if that doesn't work for you. You are incredibly sweet and amazing to offer, o-omg, and I feel awful even accepting in the first place but I'm not sure what else to do at this point. ;;

Date: 2009-05-05 08:02 am (UTC)When you decide, let me know what you'd like me to draw you, okay? I'll do something real media so I can send it with your stuff you pick out. :> And I'll let you know right away when the box arrives so you can pick out your goodies!
