OMFG, YESSSSS!

I went to the election party at the Miner's Foundry with my mom, scorpio_alice/Makayla and archaneah/KK. We had an AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING BEYOND WORDS time!

In the completely packed room with CNN playing on a big screen, Makayla and I started the countdown for the closing of the polls in California and the rest of the West Coast. What we didn't know was that immediately after our enthusiastic countdown that everyone joined in on, a screen flashed saying "Barack Obama has been elected President of the United States."

And the room went insane! My friends and I and the rest of the people in the room (at least two hundred people I'd guess) jumped up and down and screamed and cheered and clapped for what had to be ten minutes straight.

Obama's speech was unbelievably moving, and made even more so with the constant applause, cheers, and happy screaming during every pause in the speech.

Incredible. Totally incredible. I feel so honored that the first presidential election I get to vote in is this one, and--for the first time in over a decade--I feel proud to be American.

Also, HOORAY PROP 2! It passed! Now I have to cross my fingers for Prop 8... So scary. ;___;

Definitely! Prop 2 obviously doesn't stamp out cruelty or even close, but it does improve on conditions and make the lives of millions of animals more tolerable. I'm so happy it passed. :D

Prop 8 going through made me seriously mad, but I do believe that it will be defeated, and soon.
