I have a big scary auction ending in about three hours. Wish me luck!

People who have been tagged must write their answers on their blogs & replace any question that they dislike with a new question formulated by themselves.

Tag 8 people to do this quiz & those who are tagged cannot refuse. These people must state who they were tagged by & cannot tag the person whom they were tagged by. TOO LAZY! Continue this game by sending it to other people.

01. How has LJ changed your life?
It makes it easier for me to find and talk to people with a wide range of similar interests to me. It also makes it nearly impossible for me to leave the computer for long periods of time if it's readily available to me, because I check my f-list obsessively. I particularly love the fandom culture of LJ, which is unifying and fascinating and a little bit crazy (as fandom always is, a little!). I don't know, I love reading about peoples' lives--I don't think I'd have as close of friends on just any site. The f-list really makes LiveJournal for me.

02. What do you do before bedtime?
I usually brush my teeth, take the dogs outside one last time, cover the birds, and usually stay up on the computer in bed until I'm exhausted and then go to bed. Reluctantly.

03. What are you going to have for dinner tonight?
It's wayyyy past dinner time. I had a little bit of noodles stuffed with cheese, and...uhh, forgot about dinner otherwise. Tomorrow I'll have...well, we're probably going down to Roseville so I'll probably get something at Costco or the mall.

04. What is the ONE place you want to go before you die if you had the money and the time?
Ohhh, to Japan to go to a bunch of Yoko Kanno concerts, the Pokémon Center(s), and several anime studios. I know that's more than one place, but it's all in Japan! (And if I had a choice of just one, it would be a Yoko Kanno concert.)

05. Are you an introvert or extrovert?
Definitely an introvert, but I have a lot of situations in which I'm extroverted as well.

06. What do you do in your free time?
Refresh my f-list, search the same things on Ebay over and over again, draw, write (or, more often than not, just think about writing), care for my pets, rehabilitate wildlife, use StumbleUpon, hang out with friends (occasionally), hang out with poultry (frequently).

07. Do you trust easily?
I'd say I do, though I'm not naive or gullible.

08. What personal belonging do you have with you everywhere you go?

My Wolf's Rain bag, which has such essentials as a camera, my Nintendo DS, several decks of anime-themed cards, my AX schedule (I don't know why it's still in there--I just haven't bothered to remove it), my medications, my cell phone, and a number of other things.

09. Is there anything that has made you unhappy these days?

Nothing too pressing, no. Just minor annoyances.

10. What do you want to do with your life?
Live happily, have a lot of fun and happiness, create art, and save as many animals as I possibly can.

11. Is being tagged fun?
Generally. It depends on the meme.

12. How do you see yourself?
That's a tough question. The way I see myself tends to change constantly, so defining myself in any one particular way is hard. I think I'm the sort of person who has a lot of passion for the things I care about...and not much energy for things I don't care about, haha. I believe I think about the world and humanity in a different way than most people do, even if it's not immediately apparent to other people.

13. If you could be anyone for one day, who would you be?
Hmmm, that's hard to say. Probably a Pokémon trainer of some sort. 8D It would be the BEST DAY EVER.

14. What kind of person do you think the person who tagged you is?
She's a nice, enthusiastic person and quite a talented singer!

15. Would you rather be single & rich or married but poor?
Single and rich! I'm not a hugely romantic person who believes you have to be with someone to be happy. On the flip side, I'm not totally materialistic either--but if I was rich, I could more easily devote myself and my money towards noble causes and not have to worry about making ends meet all the time.

16. How many children do you want to have, if any?
I am absolutely 100% sure that I will not have any for a wide variety of reasons.

17. What's better, to give or to receive?
To give! Receiving is nice, too, but giving can potentially leave more of an impression... When you receive something, it tends to make you happy to a point, but with giving it feels like the happiness is boundless. When KK, Cody, and I gave a random guy at Fanime a birthday cake with a candle and everything and sang happy birthday for him, he was on the verge of tears because he was so happy, and he kept saying "Thank you so much, I'll never ever forget this, guys!" And every time I remember that it just makes me melt inside with happiness.

18. What's the one thing you would take with you to a deserted island?
Internets. <--I agree!

19. Would you have 100% safe sex with a stranger for £10,000,000?
I would say no, but that is a LOT of money and it could save a LOT of human and animal lives with minimal effort on my part. I think it would horribly selfish and immoral of me to deny all those lives that I could save with that money for my much more superficial personal moral code.

20. What were your parents going to name you if you'd been born the opposite gender?
I don't know.

Random anime!Brithday boy = Total Happinesssssss..... That makes me melt too!! Bahaha.

Okay, so, you might like this: A long while ago I checked out the Human Extinction movement (out of morbid curiosity) and while I think a lot of their propaganda and methods are totally stupid and pathetic (and really unfunny. Seriously, those comics they make make me cry inside at how dumb they are)... I kinda found myself agreeing with a lot of it too. Which isn't to say I'm part of the movement or anything, but I find that I think about it a lot and that my ethical beliefs are starting to lean more and more that way. Uhg....

I think the only solution is to donate my eggs to science of course!!! Haha!!

BTW, what's your school schedule?

I know, that was so wonderful! It makes me smile so, so very much when I think about it.

Haha, I agree that some of the website's humor and propaganda are rather cheesy and dumb... I think it's mostly as a method of trying to make it seem less "hostile" (because a lot of people seem to take it as a hostile or violent type of thing) and lightening the mood, but it does fail quite a bit of the time. XD

But yes--I think it's a completely ethical solution to humanity's grip on the planet and really the most meaningful, selfless thing humanity could do. It's good for not only the world, but for humanity--instead of slowly taking up all of the resources and allowing all the remaining people to die in some horrible way, the human species just slowly phases itself out. It's such a peaceful solution, and I feel like it's otherwise inevitable that someday--who knows when--humanity will reach a violent and horrific end. By then many plant and animal species will be extinct, and the world will likely be in a horrific state.

That said, while voluntary human extinction is my ideal, I would be almost as happy if humanity just decided to stop/seriously seriously reduce breeding for a time so the numbers of people would dwindle significantly (down to, say, a million people or even less). Again, it would seriously reduce the strain on the planet and other species, and also make it so everyone could have enough resources to live a happy healthy life.

I know it's not realistic. But I can't help but wish that humanity would be that selfless, you know?

I need to check my schedule, then I'll let you know! I don't want to do it now, though, because I'm vehemently denying the existence of school at the moment. :D

Also, I'm not sure when it'll be, but probably mid-semester or something, I might be comfortable enough with driving to actively take place in our carpool plans if we're able to match our schedules up enough. Thankfully I have a car with good gas mileage, too.

I know... It does make total sense, and for the most part I agree with the movement. It is ethical and selfless, but at the same time, I would be perfectly content to participate in the movement, NOT for human extinction, but to significantly reduce the population. I mean, don't get me wrong, I am no great lover of humanity (except for when I am), but at the same time, if we weren't overpopulated, and found a means to live sustainably without destroying the earth and other species, then I think it would be fine. While we're a LONG way away from something like that, moral leanings seem to be going that way (With the while green/organic frenzy people are in these days) and the fact that with child mortality having decreased and there not being a real need to have kids for labor purposes, people aren't having as many kids these days. I actually think within a couple of generations or so the problem will have decreased (at least in the first world).

So I dunno. As long as we can live without totally destroying everything I'd be fine with humanity existing... And in some ways, I think we might be getting there. Our "parents" had fewer kinds than their "parents", and "we" will have fewer still (generationally speaking). Plus we're the most environmentally consciouses generation... Soooo.

I almost feel like one solution would be for everyone to have no more than ONE kid (Which would cut the population in half every generation) until we're to a sustainable level.

But then, there's the ethical issue of having a kid when there are so many kids that NEED a loving home..

Gosh, there's so much I agree with, but there's so many other nit picks and squicks and ideas I have.

So, as you can see, I'm still quite confused and contemplating the whole issue, but at least I'm thinking about it, yeah?
