pacificpikachu: (Frogmouth Baby -- Foot Up!)
I feel all dizzy today and rather weak, and I slept eleven hours last night. Maybe I have a virus or something. It's not really bad but it's definitely noticeable and uncomfortable. Mom is all mad at me because I forgot to feed the dogs/give antibiotics/didn't wake her up earlier to go to the store. .___. It bugs me when she gets all pissed off and rant-y at me when I'm already not feeling good. She's grumpy, too, because she worked night shift last night and has to work night shift again tonight, and I understand that, but it still bothers me. It was irresponsible, yes, but I thought she had fed the dogs and given them antibiotics because I was all disoriented when I woke up at 1 PM.

I'm going to try and get a lot of rest this weekend because I'm going down to the World Ag Expo on Monday evening/Tuesday day by myself for work and I need to have some energy to get through that.

My hen Tsunami passed away today. I'm not upset, though--she was almost thirteen years old and her health was going downhill for a long time. Yesterday she was quite weak, so I was expecting it. She had a great, long life. No regrets. I considered bringing her in when she started being unable to keep weight on despite eating well as she always had (likely cancer or organ failure) and especially once she gradually got weaker, but I sincerely think she was happier living out in the coop until the very end. It would have stressed her to be away from her flock.

I've been searching Yahoo! Japan for a long time today because it seems like a good thing to do when I'm weak. Watching TV, too. I've found a lot of interesting things on Y!J--now just to resist buying many of them!

I need more of a social life again! I've hardly seen my friends at all. I have no good reason not to hang out with people aside from my lack of energy.

My stupid external hard drive is still not working, bleh. May need to take it to a repair shop or something. Dad might try to help me get a new ribbon cord thing, we suspect that might be the issue.

Sorry for a whiny post, just feeling a bit meh today. Overall things are not that bad, though.

Last night I had a dream that I was at this massive poultry show, and there was gang violence being perpetrated there. In fact, I got killed several times by members of this gang (teenagers with guns), but I kept going back to change the situation somehow and after three times getting shot and killed by teenage girls with guns, I finally created a situation at this poultry show where I did not get shot. Quite a few other people did, though. The whole part of the dream with the gang was actually quite terrifying--they would threaten you and then shoot you point blank or suddenly from a distance, for little or no reason. One could never know whether they were safe or not. Apparently, in the dream I had been to this poultry show a few times and braved the gangs and got away fine, but this time the gang was more violent.

I have a lot of vague memories of what else happened in the dream but they're too hard to describe (something about a mall, people I know in the poultry hobby, etc.). I was, however, given some iridescent and colorful quail for free.

Gang violence at the poultry show. It's serious business, guys. I think this is the end result of having Investigation Discovery on all the time and being obsessed with poultry.

You know you're a real geek when you start writing down notes about Pokémon language-to-Japanese subtitles and the speech patterns revealed. Not that it's really helpful information for anything other than maybe fanfiction, but I'm the sort of odd person who finds it somewhat interesting. I've always liked finding out more nuances about how Pokémon think/talk/refer to themselves, etc.

I just watched Island of the Giant Pokémon in Japanese and reading the Pokémon language-to-Japanese subtitles, I found out these things:

* Pikachu uses "boku"
* Zenigame and Fushigidane both use "ore"
* No one else used personal pronouns. :(
* Hitokage referred to Zenigame as "Zenigame-kun"
* When trying to speak to the giant Kamex, Zenigame called him "aniki"! This especially amuses me because of course Zenigame was the one who had the Kamina-esque glasses.
