Aug. 11th, 2009 06:44 pmI've still been avoiding the computer lately and I'm not entirely sure why! I have been fairly busy, though.
Anyway, since I updated last, I've:
* Obtained a third duck! His name is Tuxedo (on account of his markings) and he's adorable. An old friend of mine, Britta, brought him in to the Rehab Center because she found him injured by Lake Vera. I fell in love with him right away and decided to adopt him and try to get him back to good health. He can't walk due to a swollen ankle, which is either a break or a joint infection, and seems to be a bit sick as well. He's currently at Nina's house receiving acupuncture treatments and homeopathy, and he's also been on various antibiotics and pain medication. His foot and leg were fully bandaged for a while, but now I'm trying a different type of bandage that doesn't restrict his foot. I'm hoping he'll be able to pull through and become a happy member of my flock! For now he lives in a storage bin in the garage.
* Went up to Reno to go shopping. It was a nice drive, and while there I got a new large shelf as well as a new comforter/sheets/pillowcases. I then spent the next two days rearranging my room! It's so much better now, space-wise, and looks great, too. :D I'll take pictures when I'm fully satisfied with the arrangement, as I still need to put up some posters and do a little collection rearranging. It really is nice to have space in my room, though, and not have stuff absolutely everywhere in no particular arrangement.
* Went hiking about an hour away to a lake called Island Lake. Dad got lost on the way and we went four miles up an extremely bumpy road and back, and finally found our way. Dad said it would be an easy hike, and it mostly was, but then we had to essentially scale a huge rock that just went on and on and on and it got rather unpleasant. :/ We did eventually reach the lake and go swimming in Island Lake, though. Honey came along on the hike and was wonderful the whole time! She even went swimming a little, which was cute and funny with her short legs. :D The walk back was much nicer because we were able to avoid the massive rock.
* Had Makayla, Daniell, and her online friend David over! We played the game Con, which is a game based off of anime conventions, and then I taught them Heck and we played several rounds of that. We also played Bang, which is a card game from Texas where you try to "shoot" other players. Other than playing various card games, we mostly watched Youtube videos and whatnot. Lots of fun!
* Yesterday, after I worked at the center (all we got in was a woodpecker and a robin, both of which needed to be euthanized), Makayla and I went down to Auburn and went to Target and Best Buy, then came back and watched AMVs/looked at amusing anime-related pictures and laughed hard.
* I got in a custom Umbreon plush from a Deviantart user and I LOVE it! I requested she sew the body in black fleece and then I would add the rings and face, so I'm trying to figure out how I want to do those. It'll be fun, regardless, and nice that I can make him look however I'd like. :3
* The fair starts tomorrow! I always think it's kind of exciting, and then I go and realize that after looking through the rabbits and chickens and get a little fair food, there's not a whole lot to do. Oh well--at least I can keep the illusion that it'll be terribly entertaining until I actually go.
I suppose that's all for now, though I'm sure I'm forgetting things~ Today I just took care of the animals, mostly. It was too hot for an extended dog park visit, bah.
