Aug. 5th, 2009 01:10 amLeft Tahoe today and came home! Tahoe was quite nice, again, and I managed to keep myself amused without friends due to obsessing on my dogs and watching Shark Week between doing other things. I visited Tahoe Wildlife Care, who just happened to be having an Open House the same day I called them up! Their facilities are very nice and it was interesting getting to see some of the animals my group either can't care for due to permit restrictions (bear cubs) or simply don't get in much (river otters, mink, weasels, chipmunks). I was surprised to find out that they actually rehab less animals than we do--an average of six to seven hundred annually as opposed to our nine hundred and still growing. Anyway, they were really nice and well-organized and I hope someday our group has as lovely of facilities as they do. ♥ I was quite impressed by them.
After I went there, I headed to a flea market. Flea markets are always interesting, at least to me. I bought a few bird-related items (a pheasant pin, a hawk sculpture for my wildlife group, and a hand-painted puffin) and a delicious snowcone.
Other than that, I went to two different dog parks, four different pet stores, swam in the lake and pool a few times, took the dogs for plenty of walks, and went to a buffet last night. Oh, and I gambled at the casinos. I gambled a whopping total of...wait for it...two dollars! Mom also gambled two dollars and won eight dollars, so now we're rich. XD
The highlight of the trip was going to Kiva Beach, though, which is a dog beach! I took the two corgis and they had such a fantastic time running around, going in the water a little, playing with another corgi named Bear, and basically just having a grand time. I was so impressed with how well-behaved they were and it was obvious how much fun they were having. Next time I go to Tahoe, I'm definitely going back there. Happy dogs running and swimming and playing fetch and playing together everywhere! Ah, I couldn't help but love it there. Hana got to go for a while as well, but seeing as she's quite afraid of water she was less impressed.
Now I'm just trying to tackle the monumental task of setting up my next sales post on
pkmncollectors. I have something like one thousand items to sell, aughhh. I've been sorting things all evening and doing some sales in chat and such, but there's still so much to do! This sales post is going to be amazingly chaotic and intense. Let's hope it goes well! I need to do my best to stay organized and motivated.
Other monumental task I am attempting is that of organizing my room at dad's house. This sounds simple enough, but in fact I have concluded that without adding more shelves to my room, it is in fact impossible to fit all the things I want to fit. ;x; Perhaps I'll make a trip down to Ikea one of these days to get some new shelving. I've also been rearranging my posters to better represent my anime tastes~ The walls are looking quite pretty, though I'm not done with them yet.
I really really want to spend time with friends the next few weeks before school starts! I've barely seen my RL friends during this summer.
I suppose that's all for now! I can't think of much else to say, heh. I guess I'm in one of my less long-winded moods for once.Or perhaps I just want to play more Pokémon Mystery Dungeon before bed, huhuhu~
