Haha, that's what I thought as well for the longest time, but now that I've been driving for about six months I've found it rather fine all around. It's good for the sake of convenience as well! But you have good public transportation over there, don't you? Our public transportation in rural California is lacking, and because everyone lives so far apart it's nearly impossible to get anywhere without a car.
Our public transport is a lot better than America in general, although it's privatised so how good it is depends on where you live. Here is pretty good. There's a bus past my house in either direction about once every 15 mins until 6pm. However, where I used to live now only gets a bus once every two hours, which sucks. I London the public transport is shockingly amazing -- there is absolutely no reason for people driving there! But they still whinge about it. God knows why!
Thank you! I intend to use my new levels of power to run down as many senior citizens, people with baby carriages, runners and bikers, and j-walkers as humanly possible!
And awww, don't feel ashamed. I think, despite how everyone pressures people who don't get their licenses right away, it's something you should do when you feel like it and are up for it. :)
Hahaha, I actually already had a plain old photo-ID (I got it specifically for the purposes of going to Yaoi-Con, I must admit), but now it's shinier and better because I can use it to drive. ;D
Oh! What part of the West Coast are you centered in, again? Near the Bay Area, I hope? Maybe we can arrange to go to the Shaymin event or something! (I'm about six miles away from my nearest Toys R Us)
Ah, I'm up in Northern California actually. Between Sacramento and Tahoe, so about three hours from the Bay Area, and too far to go for the Shaymin event. ^^; However I do go to the Bay Area quite a bit, so we can definitely plan something sometime. :D
Ahh, so you're pretty far up there.. Hmmm.... Keep me posted on when you go to the Bay Area! I think we have to inform the community as well (Haven't seen ANY posts from it lately, actually...).
Do you have Pokemon Ranch? I should add you to my Wii list. And to my DS list, if I haven't. I totally forget if I have... XP
Best of luck with yours, too! Haha, if you lived anywhere nearby I'd recommend you come here to do your driver's test, as it's notoriously easy here. ;)
I MADE TWO MEDIUM-SIZED MISTAKES AND STILL PASSED O___o
The instructor was super-nice, though--she gave me credit for the first mistake because she was telling me all about her dog when it happened, and credit for the second one because I corrected what I was doing before she said to correct it.
Oh man, I'm sure. .____. My dad keeps implying that I now get to take Ryan to AND from school, but that's definitely not happening because getting up earlier than I already do is an unthinkable thought. XD
That would be "Shnookie". Now. Get it right. Shnookie. HAHA. Go read my new and improved profile. You'll see (I can't believe I haven't called you that yet. This is new??)
Yeah, nah, you'll be the errand bitch. And isn't there a bus your brother can ride??

Date: 2009-02-06 12:15 pm (UTC)The test was so easy, I can't believe it. I made two medium-scale mistakes and I still passed it. My examiner was really nice, though, so that helped.

Date: 2009-02-06 08:51 pm (UTC)I do believe it does, though I have to get comfortable with driving longer distances by myself first. For now I'm mostly just driving around town.
OH!
