Man, yesterday I got up and went to Chemistry and felt so awful I called mom and had her pick me up and bring me home. When I got home I went to sleep for eight entire hours (and mind you, this was after a full night of sleep), woke up and stayed up until 4 AM, slept another seven hours, and now I'm feeling...about 60-70% better! Not all the way better, but pretty good. :) I'm taking it easy for the next day or two so I don't relapse because I still feel a little weak and under the weather.

Today...is one of those AMV spree days. I just went to AnimeMusicVideos.org to check something (I don't even remember what it was) and now I'm downloading AMVs like mad. So exciting! I love going through new batches of AMVs because I tend to rewatch my older ones so often that I more-or-less memorize them, and it's nice to have actual good AMVs to watch that I haven't worn into the ground yet.

Also, just watched episode two and three of Zoku Natsume Yuujinchou. Ahhh I love this series. ♥ It's just so sweet and pretty and enjoyable to watch. (Thanks again, [livejournal.com profile] kirarakim!) I like the peaceful atmosphere of it, and Natsume is such a sweetheart, and the stories are so lovely. It really is a wonderful series. I still watch the OP/ED on every episode I watch. See, see, look how pretty they are! (Hint: Press "Watch in HD" before watching!)

I recommend Natsume Yuujinchou and then Zoku Natsume Yuujinchou to anyone who's up for it! The first season is only thirteen episodes so it's not that hard to get through it. It's one of those series that just makes you smile inwardly because it's very quietly moving, gentle, and reflective. I always start out the episodes kind of skeptical of the various youkai stories (thinking to myself "Haven't they already done this sort of thing before...?") and then by the end it always wins me over. A few episodes just about made me tear up, honestly. ;;

[FANGIRL MOMENT]Okay, I have to be a shallow fangirl here for a minute. I have to. I tried to hold it in but I failed! This series definitely has the whole flirtatious hints of boylove thing going on, and plenty of eyecandy. Not in a fanservice-y, in your face way generally (and if you dislike that sort of thing, I wouldn't discourage you from the seeing the series at all as a result of that), but just...enough, you know. Enough to appease ME, anyway, but I am a great lover of subtext and quiet pretty boys like Natsume and the type of character designs this series uses. XD The entire third episode I was sitting there snickering to myself like an idiot because it was so blatant. :'D BATHHOUSE. And...just. ALL OF IT. Even the second episode had the little bells going off in my head every now and then! Gen... I was a sucker for those bunny ears. .___.; Anyway, enough about that.[/FANGIRL MOMENT]

Anyway, I think I'm going to go watch my AMVs now before I make even more of a fool of myself. Then it's off to bed with me, as it's 2:30 AM...

EDIT: Also, currently uploading The Dog of Flanders! I'll post it when I wake up.

I've been trying to find torrents of the first season everywhere but my torrent-fu has been failing me and I've turned up nothing :( 'Tis a pity as I really do think it's a show I'd love.

Ah, I hope you find it soon! ;; I watched the first season not too long after it aired, so it was easy to find then... I'm certain there's a torrent out there somewhere! I'll keep an eye out and upload it for you if I find one! *Salutes* I think you would love it as well. ♥

The second season is airing on TV Tokyo this season, and a torrent of the first season should be out there somewhere on the internet... I'll upload if I find a working torrent! It's a great little series. ♥

I've been wanting to watch Dog of Flanders for a long time since my art teacher mentioned it 3 years ago and never got around to it... now I have absolutely no excuse :D!! It must've hit him pretty hard cos he watched it as a kid and still remembered it clearly in his mid-30s.

Also yay on feeling better. If only everything could be healed like in Pokemon (cue ding-ding-dinga-ding! music) Sometimes when I'm sick I pretend I'm in a video game and go to sleep thinking I'll automatically get better when I wake up... and sometimes it works (placebo effect ftw?)

The sub is honestly quite hard to find, or at least it was for me, as I've been trying to find it for at least two years. I think it is the sort of movie that anyone who saw this as a child would remember forever. It's rather heartwrenching, especially when you consider that (I suppose?) it's a family movie more-or-less. I probably would have loved it as a kid, but seeing as sad dog movies are my thing I guess that goes without saying. (My favorite movie when I was about seven, and it's still a favorite to this day although I don't think it's objectively that great of a movie or anything, was about a man who dies in a car crash and is reincarnated as a dog. Then he goes to find his family and depressing things happen and it still makes me tear up a tiny bit if I'm in the right mood.)

I could see you either liking The Dog of Flanders or being rather indifferent to it, but either way I found it a pretty good movie. Small events just happen and pass in the movie, kind of like in real life, but how it builds up emphasizes how small acts of cruelty eventually added up to a tragedy. I don't know, I just found that interesting. It feels like it should have a happy ending, but it doesn't at all.

Haha, I wish we could heal like that indeed! It would save a lot of time, agony, and inconvenience. I'll try the sleeping trick sometime, just for the fun of it. :D

Eh, if both you and my art teacher like it that much I'm fairly sure I would like it even a little bit despite still being generally apathetic all this while. (The only anime I can think of that overlap would be Ghibli films, Satoshi Kon and TokiKake... I notice a trend)
I'm definitely more in the mood for older series these days, and Flanders has some awesome staff behind it to boot so I think I will actually make sure to watch it if you put it up :D

But for now I hope you rest well and become 100% okay soon! At least it isn't mind-scorchingly hot over there (I should've stayed in Washington, LOL!)

Sometimes we just get super worn out (and it sounds like you've been under a lot of stress lately), so there's nothing wrong with taking as much recharging time as you need :Db We all need a break once in a while!
