I am SO SICK of this sleeping schedule.

I was up and completely wide awake until 7 AM, and then I finally went to sleep and slept until 3 PM.

I just want to sleep from, say, midnight to 10 AM or something. I can never seem to wake up at all when my alarm goes off and going to bed early always fails (even if I take melatonin) because I just lie in bed awake for hours and hours tossing and turning. :<

This is so frustrating. D:

oh man D:
maybe if you do something really tiring during the day you will fall asleep sooner. I'm starting to break my habit, and it might have been just because I had friends over a few days ago (LOL I got exhausted). At least I think I stopped waking up at 7-8 in the morning. Good luckkkk~ :O

btw I watched Dennou Coil and finished it last night. It was super awesome and adorable. ;o; I really liked it!!

That is a good idea! Maybe I'll try that. :D Haha, having friends over can certainly be exhausting. Thanks for the good luck--I need it!

YAYYY! I'm glad you liked it! It's such a sweet series and just amazing all around. ♥ Any thoughts, favorite characters, favorite episodes/scenes/lines, or anything? :3

Oh man, how can I choose?
I was actually at a family's house for New Years and the kids/teens were looking for something to watch, and the guy had Dennou Coil, so... anyway, by the first episode I was hooked. IT'S SO ADORABLE! Oyaji and the Mojos and etc caught me right away because they were so cute and funny, and by the time I watched more of the series I seriously got fond of Densuke. Hmm... the summer festival episode was very cute, and I felt like crying with the one with Denpa's Pleiosaur. T_T My favorite characters are Haraken (ToT <3) and Isako. I go for angst. XD;; Near the end I didn't like Yasako so much, but taking into account everything, the things I didn't like her for really were her actual purposeful flaws as a person/character, so I stopped thinking like that. :) I really liked the mystery aspect of it and the plot, though I was really sad that Isako's brother really was dead... D:

Oh, that's so cool! Yes, I was hooked by the first episode as well. ♥ I love how light and fun the series is at first, and how it gradually draws you into the deeper and darker aspects of the series... That's something I really enjoy--when something begins very innocent and slowly unravels a more mysterious, creepier side.

Densuke is so amazing. I looove him! ;0; I seriously started bawling in the last scene of the series, though it's probably because I can relate to that loss so well...

OMG HARAKENNN. ♥ In case you didn't notice, I'm rather obsessed with Haraken, ahaha. :D; I want to just give him a big hug and snuggle him so badly. ;___; [livejournal.com profile] junoluver is making me a custom plush of him, actually. XD

I think Isako's character is really amazing. I can't think of any other characters like her in anime and she was so believable... Especially because she was so young, it's easy to see how that burden affected her.

Denpa's Plesiosaur had me so sad as well. I loved how Fumie was so skeptical about it but in the end she started crying with everyone else, too.

Yeah, I forgot to mention that scene. Also I usually find it very scary and moving when a bunch of predators/evilthings swoop down on the good guy and you know its getting killed. T_T I adore the ending scene when Densuke reappeared. It was absolutely perfect.

Oh, that's right! Now I can finally recognize your icon! HARAKEN LOVE! Ooh, take pictures of the plush! XD How cool!

I thought Isako was an adult when I first saw her. XD; One thing about the art is that it was kind of hard to tell ages. Except for extremes like Kyoko and Megabaa, rofl.

Hmm, what other episodes... The Bearded Ones was kind of hilarious just because of the nuclear war on each other's faces. Oh, and Kyoko trying to kiss everyone. XDD Daichi~~~

You know, I thought Dennou Coil was well more known since its one of the better series, but there's like nothing on youtube. :/ Even online, my brother just torrented them since not all that many video sites had them to stream. @_@

Yes, the ending scene where Densuke reappeared was what made me cry so much. ;___; It's weird, because I've watched MUCH more heartbreaking things than that and yet it's the one thing in anime that's made me cry in the last...three years or something. I guess it's just that animal weakness again and sympathizing with the situation. See why I wanted to cosplay Densuke? XD

HARAKENNN. ♥ He's just so adorable. I will take pictures of it!

LOL, that's...random. I didn't have trouble telling ages, but I can see how that might be difficult.

I adored the beard episode! It was so hilarious because it was simultaneously hilarious/weird and almost a little deep in its own bizarro way.

No, it's not well known at all... Even though it won the award for anime excellence last year with Gurren Lagann, barely anyone knows about it. .___.; That's why I'm constantly pestering people to see it--because it deserves so much more recognition and love than it gets and that's just sad to me. Plus I know a lot of people would enjoy it if they were to give it a chance.

ditto what ylmik_wisty said. I have work in the afternoon so that force me to wake up at 10 or 11am. not sure what's gonna happen once I return to school. I suppose finding a job will keep me disciplined.

if you stay up till morning, maybe you don't have sleep until like 9 or 10 pm on that day or something, then you'd be really sleep-deprived at that point. But sometimes I just cannot sleep no matter how sleep-deprived I am. You see I tried to follow a "regular" schdule such as sleeping at 11pm, but cannot fall sleep until 2am or 3am, and forced myself to get up at 7am. I was groggy all day. Sorry I cannot offer useful advice ne~~~

I almost wish I had something that forces me to get up... The only thing I need to wake up for is taking care of the chickens/ducks/guinea fowl/pheasant and they don't really mind if I feed them late. I just have to feed them before it gets dark and they go to bed.

No, it's okay--it's good advice! I might try staying up all night and day and see what happens if I don't fall asleep at a reasonable hour tonight. It's so annoying when you're sleep-deprived but can't sleep--that's happened to me a bunch of times, too.

I was getting up twice a week at 6:30 AM during the winter semester for a class, but I still stayed on a night schedule so perhaps this semester I'll be able to get myself on track...

I do think exercise would help, yes. Now I just need to figure out how to motivate myself to do that!

And reading before bed is a great idea, too. I need to read more anyway. :D

If you want to do it the hard way, you can just not sleep for one night. If you can keep yourself awake during the day and go to bed at a reasonable time, you'll be able to get your schedule back to some semblance of normalcy. It's super hard, though. You have to keep yourself entertained enough to stay awake.

That's what I almost did today! But I gave in to the sleep, haha. Perhaps I'll try that tomorrow, though, and then plan a bunch of activities for myself to keep myself awake. We'll see! That could always be my last resort if I'm unable to go to bed tonight.

I AM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. D:

I go to sleep when the sun rises and I wake up exactly when the sun goes down. I feel like a vampire! And I never wake up properly when my alarm goes off either and going to bed early doesn't work for me too. ;-; No amount of sleeping pills help either... *whine*

I hope you're able to solve it! It's so unpleasant being on this schedule because it's rather isolating...

I think I sometimes turn off the alarm in my sleep, because occasionally I'll be sure I have the alarm set--SURE--and yet I'll wake up hours after it goes off anywhere with no memory of it going off. And yes, for some reason sleeping pills just don't do the trick...

Good luck!

Count me in as having EXACTLY THE SAME PROBLEM myself :( It's been like that since I arrived, at first due to jetlag and later probably.... just me not getting used to the climate, and the fact that it's completely dark by 5pm (WTF?!?!) Doesn't help that the blinds are always closed...

The only thing that makes me sleep normally is as what someone else said "the hard way" - but sometimes the problem si when I sleep at 9pm or whatever, I sleep 2 days' worth of sleep and get up by 2pm the next day... -_- and go to sleep at 7am or whatever the following day.

If I could have my way at home I'd be up at night/morning most of the time, I'm much more productive/creative then but oh well human conventions and all that. I guess it'll go back to normal (somewhat) when school starts, hopefully :0

At least you have an excuse, though! For me I'll just be browsing some random site or something and then suddenly it's 5-6 AM. D:

I do the same thing with "the hard way" a lot of the time. .__. That's why, while I'll resort to it if I must, I'm trying to avoid it if I can because it might just mess up my schedule more. I have been waking up at slightly more reasonable 11 AM or noon lately, though, which is at least a little better...

I wish I could live on a night schedule as well, and I'm the same about productivity and creativity late at night. That's why I have so much trouble sleeping, I think, because suddenly it's 1 AM and I want to WRITE and DRAW and SCULPT and ACCOMPLISH THINGS when during the day really just sitting on the couch and brainlessly channel surfing is good enough for me.
