I should be at Anime LA right now, but the plans fell through so... :( But, seeing as there's nothing I can do about that, I am doing my best to look forward optimistically and not be all regretful and sad. KK and I are most likely going to spend next weekend going down to SacAnime and San Francisco, and I get to meet [livejournal.com profile] wao so...yay! After that is Chemistry, but let's not discuss that at the moment.

I never wrote about it, but Zoe/[livejournal.com profile] bjango came to visit Tuesday and Wednesday! We had a most excellent time watching miscellaneous YouTube videos and laughing, and then we watched a History channel show on the Apocalypse and shows about UFOs and some Mysterious Ways as well. Oh, and Trading Spouses. One episode had this totally control freak, HARDCORE religious dad and we spent most of the episode looking at each other with various expressions of horror. He was so scary. D: We bonded around various types of glowing screens, hahaha. I'm so glad she came to visit--we hadn't seen each other since Anime Expo! She left about two hours before the new year began, though, so I spent that time contemplating things.

My conclusion is that 2009 is going to be an amazing year. It just is. I can feel it. It hasn't been off to the best start ever, but considering it's only been two days that's not a fair assessment. (For some reason I spent several hours after midnight on January 1st crying hard about Lily, and I'm not sure why or what triggered that...)

We went down to Davis to visit my grandma today for a few hours, and that was reasonably uneventful.

Also, I made this gif yesterday. It's certainly nothing special at all, but it's my first gif ever and I was surprised by how long it takes to make one! I may make more because I do want to try to improve and make cooler ones. If you want to use it as an icon for some reason, feel free as long as you give credit.

* Go to Japan in July. Somehow, someway, just figure it out, find a way to have the money for such a trip, and do it.
* Make an AWESOME Umbreon cosplay.
* Get an A in Chem 1B.
* Change sleep schedule so it is more reasonable.
* Get license before school is back in session.
* Get bank account (had problems with my old one and closed it) and perhaps a job (vet assistant job perhaps?).
* Cut back on computer time and be more social.
* Spend more time outdoors and with animals.
* Manage money better.
* Write, draw, sculpt, and create more things.
* DECK OUT CAR IN GEEKY THINGS!

I want to go get more clay, paint, and a new sketchbook tomorrow. I'm itching to make things! Also, I should watch some anime. Or maybe call some friends.

It's all right. The majority of my friends couldn't make it anyway, and it also would have been straining on the money side, so I suppose it's for the best, no matter how disappointing that is.

Trading Spouses is insane. D: My friend and I were just watching it because it was on and caught our interest randomly, but...yeah. Crazy religious guy wasn't as bad as this famous woman (also from Trading Spouses, haha): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCh2FXzD6R4 but that's not saying much... He was a complete and total control freak and absolutely could not respect the fact that his "new spouse" was not religious. She tried confronting him about his control issues multiple times and he didn't even listen to her at all. D: SCARY MAN.

Thank you! That's sweet of you to say! :D ♥

Please share the results when you do take it!

YOU CAN COME--IT'LL BE WITH PKMNCOLLECTORS! XD I have absolutely zero dollars saved at the moment, so I imagine you're about as prepared as I am!

I will definitely be making the Umbreon cosplay. :D And thanks! I will post more art when I make more art, haha.

Yeah, she's a scary one, that woman. And from what I've heard, it wasn't staged either. D: Her poor family.

See, I think that is wonderful. I don't so much have a problem with Christianity as I have a problem with how a lot of people interpret it and use it for politics and power. From what I've seen of you, you are very tolerant and respectful and I think that is so great. If I do end up making rants about/jabs at Christianity (as I do from time-to-time), please know I am not referring to you or loving people like you. ♥

I'm sure you'll be able to go in your lifetime! Just keep being optimistic. :D

Gah, too bad it fell through. It's a relatively small con so you wouldn't miss much neh? Are there two anime cons in Sactown per year? Because I read about SacAnime in one of your summer posts (I could be wrong)?

As for this holiday, I haven't got a chance to hang out with anyone except my family. In SoCal, a car is a must. Without it, social life is doom LOL.

And good luck on getting your license (I almost failed mine on the first try) and the rest of your resolutions! Yes, Japan will be so much fun! I wish I could go ne~~~~

It's actually a really great con (though small-ish), so I am disappointed, but it's not that big of a deal. And yep, SacAnime happens twice a year. :)

It's hard to have a social life here without a car as well--because everything is really far apart.

Thank you! I think I'll go schedule an appointment now. Got any helpful pointers? Eek, honestly I'm most nervous about making stupid mistakes because I'll be driving with someone I don't know... Awwwwkward.

Japan will be fun! I haven't the faintest how I'll get it together, but I'm a crafty one and I think I'll figure it somehow.

Awww, I'm sorry you didn't get to go to the con! But it sounds like you're going to one next weekend, so that's good, right?

That gif is sooo cuuute! I love the earmuffs~ ♥♥

Yes, it's too bad. And I'll probably go to one for a few hours next weekend so that makes up for it a little. Unfortunately the one I am going to isn't as awesome as the one I missed, but it's all right. :)

Thanks! They're actually headphones--he's listening to music! XD

It always brings back sad memories thought because as soon as I finally got an Umbreon on my Silver version waaaay back when, my mum accidentally dropped my GBC in the ocean. :[.

'Hallo fellow Wolf's Rain and Gurren Lagann fan. *waves* 8D I see you're also a friend of ascarerea and kasaiface too. :3 I saw your comment in the former's LJ post recommending some anime to them and, after noting them down and looking at your info page, think you're a pretty rad person. Mind if I add you?

That's too bad about LA, but good luck with future cons! Planning can be so stressful. I'm already freaking out about Ohayocon. Yay for hanging out with friends, though~

Aww, that's such a cute .gif! Yeah, it can be time consuming, but it's worth it. ♥
