Happy Thanksgiving, f-list! I appreciate the concept of Thanksgiving and of being thankful for things, but not so much how it is celebrated. Nonetheless, I hope you all have a good one and get to see the people you love. I'm certainly thankful for all of you. Thank you for being good friends to me for however long I have known you! ♥

We went down to Davis today (er, technically yesterday now) to have sort of a pre-Thanksgiving with some of my mom's side of the family, which was nice. :D My mom is working tomorrow and we're going down to San Francisco with dad to see my dad's side of the family, so it was good to see my grandma and aunt and cousins from my mom's side for a few hours, as well as meeting my cousin's boyfriend.

My mom and brother were being weird in the car on the way back about how strong my beliefs are on the relationship between animals and humanity, mostly, but also my views on humanity in general. :/ I was going to make a post about how frustrating it can be when your morals are considerably different than the rest of society's, but I think I'll pass on that right now. I know if I do I'll just go into a big spiel on humanity's treatment of animals and other people and then I'll never shut up and work myself in an angry, sad, and frustrated state (which won't accomplish anything). And I should be working on my novel anyway.

On a much more amusing note, I wrote this...special...sentence in my novel very late last night when I was exhausted and trying to get my 2000 words done:

"When he didn't respond after her few timorous calls of his name, she reached out, her slender fingers stretching out towards him like cannibalistic spiders might reach out toward a larger and scarier member of their species, and finally shook his shoulder."

WHAT? No, seriously... WHAAAAT? Where did that come from? Ahahaha. I think that makes my first true NaNo-ism this year, though of course I'm sure I'll discover more gems when I get to reread what I've written when December starts.

ROFLMAO. OH GOD. THAT SENTENCE IS EPIC.

Happy Thanksgiving to you too. :)

Still would like to hear more about your views and etc in a post someday. I know how you feel. Then again, I never really explained my own views on that relationship because I tried to in class once and I choked up and my voice wavered and I just simply could not articulate myself. Because when I think about it hard enough to try and explain it, I get overcome by strong emotion. e_e srs. So I just stopped and ended awkwardly. lol. So I at least get the "getting worked up into an angry, sad, and frustrated state" part.

Happy Thxgiving again! Yayyy, school break. *_*

Snerk. The cannibalistic spider line gave me a well-needed laugh.

Thank you for sharing! XD

I KNOW! I don't know what I was thinking when I wrote that. I actually wrote a little bracket note to myself right after that in the real document saying "WTF, self?" but then kept writing, hahaha.

I do plan on doing a few of those posts--once NaNo is over, of course! And I'd also prefer to do so when I'm not angry, otherwise I think I'm a bit more disagreeable about it. And that's the least thing I want to be. I want people to listen to what I have to say and consider it carefully, not just have a knee-jerk "You're wrong!" reaction and not even think about it.

I actually had an English teacher who I somehow ended up discussing my Voluntary Human Extinction beliefs with (in front of the whole class!), which was interesting! He was actually respectful towards my beliefs and thought they were interesting, which was a refreshing response. :) I don't know if I could talk animal rights that well in front of a class, though, because I would get too emotional--either sad or angry.

Have a great Thanksgiving! School breaks are the best. :D

Haha, great sentence. =P

Yeah, I understand about not writing about frustrating things when you're in a decent mood, but if you're ever perpetually frustrated about it, it's better to get it out. (But you know this. XD)

Hahaha, I'm glad you enjoyed it as well! LOL, NaNo tends to spark some rather interesting writing sometimes due to the time limit and the madness of it all.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO YOU, TOO!

I'm glad you like it as well. XD

Well, the thing is that the way humanity treats animals is not going to change significantly soon, and it depresses me horribly, so getting it out tends to just compound itself and make me more frustrated and desperate to do something about it. So I kind of want to wait to talk about it until I'm in a better mood and feel more like change can happen and things will be okay, instead of just venting about it which just makes me feel worse and more helpless.

I agree, though, it is much better to talk about it generally than just holding it in. :)

Same to you! Have a great one!

Hahaha, I haven't the faintest where it came from or why. It's hilarious, though, so it can stay for now.
