Nov. 5th, 2008 08:18 pmONE OF MY POKEMON GRAILS (the one major one aside from the Lapras and Tyranitar giant plush) JUST APPEARED!
Wish me luck! :O Though it's like a week until the auction endsduring which I will be quietly dying a little of impatience. I wish there was a Buy It Now option. ;___; KSFSJFSA I hope I win it!
junoluver tagged me to do the "Post Seven Random Facts About Yourself" meme and I haven't done it in a while, so yeah:
1. I think most of you already know this, but babies and pregnant women really, really freak me out. In public I have to carefully avoid them. Even thinking about them causes my hands to sweat and my heart to race.
2. Somewhat tied in with this, I am a serious supporter of the Voluntary Human Extinction Movement. I think it is an optimistic, loving, and compassionate movement, contrary to how people tend to have knee-jerk reactions to it. This does not mean I hate people or think anyone should die horrible deaths--it just means that I think the human race slowly phasing ourselves out by choosing not to have children would be a beautiful thing and allow the earth and animal species to live in peace without us. I may do a big post about it sometime, we'll see.
3. My real life friends all know this, but I always wear shorts. Always. I haven't worn pants, a skirt, or a dress at all (not even once) since I was six years old despite the fact that it snows where I live.
4. I have quite a sweet tooth and I could probably live off of ice cream if that was a viable option.
5. Since I was around twelve, I have had an obsession with the number 528 and also with my poofy white chicken The Salula. They are both considered "sacred" things to me. XD
6. I enjoy writing serious, speculative, often depressing Pokémon fanfiction. Think literary fiction, but in the Pokémon universe. I realize how strange this is and I have no idea what my audience would be if I were to actually finish any of it, but it just works for me.
7. I don't think I could live without Yoko Kanno music. Seriously. If there is an afterlife and there is no Yoko Kanno music there, I'm leaving.
I need to get past 10K tonight! Wish me luck! I'm still stuck in flashbacks, and I'm not happy with my novel at the moment. We're just not connecting, and I don't feel like the connection between my two main characters is believable enough. :( I'll just keep pushing through, though, and hopefully I'll be happier once it gets more adventuresome and bizarre.

Date: 2008-11-07 03:39 am (UTC)I wrote the flashback of main character's best friend dying in a pretty horrible way (run over by a semi truck), and while it was rather horrible it certainly got the ol' word count flowing again, as my icon says. Hahaha.

Date: 2008-11-06 11:57 am (UTC)There was a guy at my college who used to do exactly the same thing. :)

Date: 2008-11-07 06:41 am (UTC)1. It's great to know I'm not alone on this. *Hugs* There's nothing wrong with being this way, and try not to let anyone tell you otherwise. :)
2. If you ever want to read up on it, the website is here: http://www.vhemt.org/ I'm not trying to "convert" people or anything, but I think it does give everyone something interesting to think about if nothing else!
3. The cold doesn't really bother me! And I do wear coats and sometimes even boots and whatnot, just...with shorts, haha.
5. I'll tell you sometime! I need to work on my NaNo novel now or I would explain now.
6. I agree! I don't think there's anything wrong with it, because they're not...I don't know, it's not like they're angsty in a silly or overly dramatic way, they're just realistic, gritty, and...well, depressing.
7. YOKO KANNO = BEST COMPOSER EVER. Haven't you seen Cowboy Bebop, if I'm not mistaken? She composed that music, plus the music to Wolf's Rain, Escaflowne, Macross Plus, Macross Frontier, Turn A Gundam, Earth Girl Arjuna, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, and um. A lot of other things, suffice to say.
