Hmmm, currently trying to figure out what I'm watching this Fall anime season~ Going off of what I'm hearing about so far, my list is rather long on what I'd like to look into (though I'm not terribly excited about anything), though I'm sure it'll get pruned down a bit more after a couple of episodes of everything have aired.

I suppose the purpose of this post is:

Have you seen any first/second episodes in the fall season so far that you recommend I check out in particular? Or avoid?

I'm just curious because I have a long list and it would be nice to get an idea of what I should maybe prioritize or not check out at all. Many of you have similar taste to me, so I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Already watched the first episode of Toradora and I'm pretty sure I'm keeping it. I'm not usually that into romance series but it seems to be entertaining and fun so far. :)

Also, went down to San Francisco yesterday. It was all right, but we pretty much just went to dad's rock poster show for a few hours and then left. Also, Ryan's friend Jake came along and the boys were being annoying in the car so the car ride wasn't as nice as it usually is. Oh well, it wasn't bad.

I've seen

Casshern- Beautiful animation and interesting concept but a little on the somber side

Black Butler: Black comedy...I'm not really sure about this one

Hyakko- Random Comedy like Azumanga Daioh: cute characters if a little stereotypical but the writing could be better

Nodame Cantabile Pairs: YES!

Overall nothing is definite for me yet except Nodame, not because the other series are bad it's just I can't make a real recommendation after so few episodes.

Edit: Just watched the 1st 2 episodes of Toradora. It was pretty cute but I am wary of the whole romance/Tsundere thing. I guess it's worth a few more episodes though.

I'll be making a first-impressions post soon, so I'll just leave it to that instead of making a longass comment here. XD ♥

Haha, I was going to mention Toradora. /a/ is constantly hijacking threads with it. XD You should watch Tales of the Abyss if you get the chance! Tales stories have great writing and plotlines, especially Symphonia and Abyss.

I've seen only a few so far...

•Tales of the Abyss: I adore this series. I can't put my finger on what's so appealing about it to me, but I am all over it. Also Luke is so naïve~ It makes him simultaneously a douche and absolutely adorable. I'm not exactly sure how, but it does.

•Kuroshitsuji: Not overly impressed, but the first episode was pretty amusing. However, I am impressed with the adaptation of the manga art so far. And I really dig the demonic theme in it.

• Yozakura Quartet: I read the first volume of the manga, and it's nothing like the first episode (but I hear the story picks up in vol 2, so maybe that's where the anime starts?). It has an interesting concept and a neat style. I wasn't really expecting anything from it, so I was pleasantly surprised. Nothing incredible, but very watchable and entertaining.

•Casshern Sins: Really pretty, great style, and interesting concept, but quite confusing. I'm hoping they reveal more to the story in ep 2.

(I'm totally watching this post to see what other recommend! I'm not sure what else to check out too! =D )

I just watched Hakushaku to Yousei ep 1. It's pretty much your standard "plainish girl meets pretty boy" story. The Earl has some hot (mystical?) servants though, so I'll probably keep watching. But it's pretty damn ordinary. However, the sparkle sounds with the Earl are A++++ material. I really need to learn how to trigger those sounds when I smile

Well, I'm sticking with Tytania (LOGH fans rejoice! I mean, the story may seem a bit boring in the first episode but I expect it to pick up) and Michiko to Hatchin (although I haven't watched it yet, but I have expectation for this series since I'm a fan of Samurai Champloo) for now.

I agree with kefanni that Time of Eve (or Are You Enjoying The Time of Eve) is worth checking out because it is animated by Studio Rikkai who also did animated shorts such as Pale Cocoon and Aquatic Language which I adore.

I'm watching Jigoku Shoujo 3, One Outs (this is not really about baseball...) and Gundam 00 2 also, but I'm not recommending them until I finish them (if I do)....

I watched the first episode of Tales of Abyss and I can't say I like it. Well I haven't played the game so....

This winter season is way better than last winter season, so I'm not complaining.
