Hi guys! Sorry to brag again, but I have no choice I'M FAMOUS AGAIN:
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/ann-tv/2008-07-13
I'm at 15:45, so quite a while in. OMFG, I sound like such a dork. Not that I'm not a dork, but...you know. I had no idea who was interviewing me or what it was for, so I was like "WTF do I say?"
Also, the head didn't look particularly stunning at that moment (normally I push it up a bit more so it's a better shape, but I sometimes forget to do so), which is unfortunate. :(
Oh well--I'm happy that I've been on not one, but TWO big sites so far with my Boota costume. :D And hopefully you'll at least get some laughs out of my stupid responses to the questions. I'm sure you all wanted to know I was sweaty underneath the costume.
In other cosplay news, here's a picture of my Densuke costume. There are still some definite quirks to work out (especially with the flow of fur on the head), but I hope you guys like it anyway! The head is freaking HUGE. Seriously. It's even more cumbersome than it looks. I'll try and post more pictures once Andy (asianschoolboy.com) uploads the pictures he took of Yasako and I.

If anyone is curious, here's a photoshoot of Nicole's Anti-Spiral Nia costume:

While it's obviously not my costume, I'm proud of how it came out because I drew in and painted most of those lines! 8D It took wayyyy more hours than you'd ever think, but I think the result was worth it. Also, it was hilarious drawing the lines in because we did it at 3 AM or so, and Nicole had to wear the spandex suit while I was drawing the lines on for accuracy. Of course, Nia's lines don't just stop when it comes to, ah, more sensitive areas, so I was drawing on her boobs, butt, dangerously close to her crotch, etc. We laughed through all of it and discussed how it obviously constituted hot lesbian sex. Hey, I'll bet it's a fetish somewhere.
Anyway. Cosplay is amazing. I may go on about it more in future entries. I just can't help it.
Also, I keep forgetting to say so, but thank you for so many people leaving such thoughtful responses on the situation with my friend, and also for congratulating me on being on Shokotan's blog! I love you guys. ♥

Date: 2008-07-13 06:56 pm (UTC)Haha, I'm really surprised how big of a reception the Boota costume got... I only had it on for two or three hours out of the whole weekend. I guess I just got lucky!

Date: 2008-07-13 07:00 pm (UTC)And he's a dog from Dennou Coil, which is an excellent series. I think, based off your history of what you've liked/haven't liked, that you'd really enjoy this one. It's one of those series that's amazing but really doesn't get much attention at all. http://www.animeacademy.com/finalrevdisplay.php?id=631

Date: 2008-07-16 01:48 am (UTC)Like others said, it's nice to hear your voice in that video! My other friend who was cosplaying Hatsune Miku from VOCALOID was in it too! She sang "levan Polkka" and was holding a leek while singing it, just like the one in the youtube videos!
Your friend Nicole's costume is pretty awesome too. Yep, the lines just make the whole costume more...provocative haha. You guys are such good cosplayers! It's fun to read about your AX/Fanime experiences since I've never been to an anime convention myself *sweat drops*. I've been to comic-con since it's in San Diego but I don't remember much anime-related stuff there.

Date: 2008-07-16 02:05 am (UTC)Oooh, that was your friend? She did an amazing job! I was really impressed by her costume and rendition of Ievan Polkka! :D
I'll tell her you like her costume as well. :) We both worked super-hard on it. And I'm glad you like to hear about my convention adventures, though I don't write as much about them as I should because of my lazy streak.
You should come to Anime Expo or Fanime sometime! You'd love them. :D
