Hm, I haven't much felt like being online lately. I'm not sure why... Possibly I'm just too lazy, which doesn't make sense seeing as being online all the time is generally how I manifest my laziness.

Christmas went well, if somewhat uneventfully. We went down to Davis on Christmas Eve and opened presents and ate dinner (mmm, so much good food!). My cousin Todd, Ryan, and I played Uno for a while, and this somehow disintegrated into us throwing the Uno cards at each other and making a mess with them. It was a lot of fun. XD We went home around 10 PM, after doing the now-customary sit-around-in-the-living-room-and-talk-about-our-pets.

The day after that, we headed down to Petaluma for Christmas with my dad's side of the family. We listened to Sousei no Aquarion OSTs, Turn A Gundam OSTs, and The Pillows on the way down, but the ride was shorter than usual because we were going to Petaluma and not Marin. :( It was so strange going somewhere else for Christmas! (My grandma sold her house and moved into an apartment, so we went to my aunt's house for the Christmas festivities.)

We spent most of the time down there with our cousins Chris and Jordan, avoiding the adults and little cousins as much as possible, and causing mischief. Dinner was long in coming, so for some reason I can't entirely explain, we started burning chips in the candles. XD It smelled awful, but it was oddly fun. Of course, then we were caught and semi-lectured, but...haha, I'm afraid it was still fun. For some reason, Aunt Nancy kept trying to take the burnt chips away from us, so we hid them and laughed to ourselves when she kept interrogating us about them. In order to relieve our pyro tendencies, we were given an admittedly rather fun board game that amused us until dinner was ready. Dinner was pretty good. We left after dessert, and listened to the Ashura-jo no Hitomi OST and 23ji no Ongaku on the way back. We opened presents from dad when we got home.

Presents-wise, I did...fairly good this year. I'm not going to make a big list because I primarily got a good chunk of money, and a lot of the things I got were clothing items that I'll never wear. O_o; I have no idea why my grandma on my dad's side is so obsessed with getting me clothes that I'm about 95% sure she KNOWS I will not wear. Some of my favorite things I got were Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Blue version, the limited edition of the Fullmetal Alchemist movie, a Pikachu figure, and some gift cards for Amazon.com.

As for my Christmas money, I already spent...a few hundred (WHAT I AM NOT OBSESSED WITH YOKO KANNO WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?) on mostly Yoko Kanno CDs from CDJapan. Once those arrive, I will have every full anime OST she's ever done. ^^;; I need to start getting more of her live action stuff and game stuff if I can, though I already have a few of her live action OSTs so that shouldn't be too terrible. (Though it appears tokyo.sora and Mizu no Onna are out of print. Sob. ;_; I will try to find them anyway.)

Anyway, I'm thankful that I have enough to buy almost all of the Yoko Kanno CDs I wanted, put some money aside for AX and Fanime and cosplay projects, and probably be able to make it through Anime LA okay.

Speaking of Anime LA, Aubrey and I are leaving on January 2nd to stay at one of our con friends' houses for a few days, and then going to Anime LA. I'm a little nervous just because we have a long drive ahead of us, my stomach pains could possibly occur down there (hopefully they won't), money is tight because I have to save about $200 for cosplay and future cons, and I know everyone else is going to be drinking. I know they're not going to be drinking all the time or anything, but I don't like being around drunk people. :/ It'll probably be just fine and turn out to be a lot of fun, though, so despite my nervousness I'm definitely looking forward to it.

It snowed today! I didn't expect it to, but mom mentioned on the phone that it was snowing, so I went outside and...lo and behold, it was! There's about an inch or so on the ground, which is pretty good for Penn Valley. I'll bet there's more at dad's house! I hope it continues to snow throughout the night, simply because snow is pretty and makes me happy.

I did so little today, it's ridiculous. I just watched TV and...um. Took the dogs outside periodically. Took care of the chickens. That's about it.

I finished reading A Fine and Private Place by Peter S. Beagle (ah, my favorite author ♥) yesterday. I enjoyed it a lot and recommend it to everyone. It's a quick read, only around two hundred pages I believe, and it's definitely an interesting take on death and what happens afterward. The characters are great, and I loved their development throughout the novel... It was a beautiful, profound read.

I've been having extremely bizarre but vivid and colorful dreams lately. Generally my dreams are such a random mishmash of things that they make no sense, but lately my dreams have been surprisingly sensical, albeit in a weird way. They'll make awesome stories, actually, so I'm planning on writing a few of them. I started the first one in a notebook last night when I couldn't sleep.

I need to watch more anime now.

I must know. How many Yoko Kanno CDs do you have? XD

That would require I count them all, and I'm afraid they're at my other house at the moment. ._.;

I'm going to guess...fifty-something? Sixty?

O SNAP. I honestly had no idea she'd scored that many things.

She's scored a TON of things. I keep finding more and more, and by now I've decided it's most likely hopeless to try and collect everything she's ever written. ;A; But I at least want the CDs she scored entirely or mostly.

I've always thought that scoring music seemed so tedious and that it would take a long time, but she's done so much that she must be very fast... STUPID SEXY PROLIFIC COMPOSERS. D':

She seems to release around eight or ten CDs a year, so--yes, she is quite fast. That's not even including all the stuff she writes and doesn't release. (For example, there were around seventy unreleased songs in Wolf's Rain alone.)

SHE IS THE SEXIEST PROLIFIC COMPOSER EVER. I WILL SOMEHOW MARRY HER DESPITE THE FACT THAT SHE IS A MARRIED MIDDLE-AGED JAPANESE WOMAN AND I AM A STRAIGHT TEENAGED AMERICAN GIRL.

Sounds like a nice holiday :D (I THINK YOU JUST MIGHT BE OBSESSED WITH YOKO KANNO :P) And with a con coming right up--nice!

Wish I could send you some of our snow... though actually we had a few days above freezing so there's only like a foot and a half left. (Except it'd probably get lost in the mail T_T wtf Canada Post, there are like four packages going out and coming in that are totally AWOL. Including zukans!)

I AM OBSESSED. XD Yes, conventions always make things more exciting.

Aw, I would love some more snow. There might be more at my dad's house, though. Hopefully, as most of it here has now melted. :/

I hope Canada Post pulls through for you. T_T

That's a lot of Yoko Kanno...but I completely understand. The woman is a goddess. (Must watch new Macross, it has Yoko Kanno...)

I'd kill to see a pic of all of your Yoko Kanno CDs though. ^^;

She certainly is a goddess! Nobody can write music like Yoko Kanno. :D

I'll gladly take a picture of all of them and post it here when the new CDs arrive. ♥

I CAN TRY, but I will be in San Diego before the convention, and we don't generally leave the convention once we get there. o_o; But if you want to drop by, I could give you a call or something when we arrive in LA.

I've been like that about the internet lately, too. I don't feel like posting, or even commenting people D: I think it's just cause I've been really tired lately, idk. It's like you said, the internet it what I turn too when I feel lazy, so this is weird XD The day my internets addiction dies is the day I freak the hell out.

Yes, I know the feeling. For some reason, I tend to spend more time on LiveJournal actually socializing when I'm busy, and when I'm not busy I get lazier with it, for some reason. I don't know, it doesn't really make sense. XD

If my internet addiction died, I would have to wonder if I was actually the same person. XDDD

Also, I'm glad you didn't cut me! I think you're an incredibly awesome person and I'd miss you if you did. (Although if you ever feel a need to, it's okay, but... I'd miss you a lot!)

BY THE WAY, I STILL HAVE TO MAKE A CARD AND SEND IT TO YOU. :O It'll have to be a New Years card or something, I guess. ;_; I'm sorry about that! I'll make one tomorrow before I start watching Princess Tutu~

That's exactly how it is with me! When I'm busy as hell, all of a sudden I'm in the mood for some lj-ing. But when I'm feeling bored and lazy I just stare at the screen and end up turning on some animu instead.

And of course I wouldn't cut you! I love talking about anime with you, I think we share the same taste and stuff, and yeah I really like you. And don't worry about the card, I haven't sent mine out yet either >_>

Hahaha, that's definitely how it is for me. XD I got very little or nothing done (even just writing entries and replying to longer comments) when I actually have time for it--but the moment I don't have time for it, I do it frantically.

Hooray! I agree--we do have very similar tastes in anime, and I love talking to you. ♥

Haha, we can both just send late non-specific-holiday cards, then. :D Go us!
