Nov. 5th, 2007 08:26 am*Facepalm* I should be studying for my lab exam. I really should. But, you know, we get to have our lab notebooks as references and I'm not entirely sure what needs to be studied anyway, as my lab notes are rather thorough. So, of course, the computer is the answer! It's too early to write, but at least I can browse the internet at random until class starts at 9:30 AM.
I got up to a little over 8000 words yesterday. Writing is going well. The story itself is...um. I'm not sure what to think of how it's turning out. D: On one hand, I've been throwing in some interesting concepts to keep myself writing, on the other hand it feels like a mess and I'm not sure where exactly where it's going...? I mean, I know where it's going eventually, but what happens in the middle is undetermined and a little random. The main characters are already getting too fond of each other, even though they've only known each other for a few hours now, and I keep forgetting logical things like "Wait, wasn't Sis the blackbird hanging out with Crow a few minutes ago? I think I forgot she was there." or "Ugh, he can't crawl on all fours because he has bread in his hands. Better make him put it in his mouth he can crawl under that bush..." so then I have to go back and revise.
Overall, I feel like my story is meandering hopelessly right now, but... It's hard for me to judge it objectively, especially because I refuse to read all of it linearly for fear that I'll realize just how terrible it is. Oh well, I just have to keep writing. I can always go back and revise it to death later.
UGH. There is a chorus of little kids whining in unison across the cafeteria. UGH. UGH. UGH. They're so loud and annoying. Get them to be quiet! >_<
I watched a fair amount of anime yesterday: the first two episodes of Ghost Hound, episodes two and three of Moyashimon, and episodes eight and nine of Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. I'm really enjoying Ghost Hound--it's bizarre and vaguely creepy; just my kind of show. I hope it keeps up the way it's going now, because if so I think I'm going to end up loving it.
Moyashimon is amusing and creative, though it sometimes feels a bit too much like a biology lesson, hahaha. The microbes are kind of endearing. XDI keep wanting to pair up Sawaki and Kei for no reason. ;_; Whyyyyy? Stop being such a stupid fangirl, mind. In general, the series is fun and interesting, though so far it isn't the most meaningful or thought-provoking series ever.
Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei really cracked me up with these last two episodes. It normally just makes me chuckle quietly to myself, but this time I was in stitches at some parts, especially in episode nine. Also, I kept "ZETSUBOUSHITAAAA"ing with Itoshiki-sensei. I blame my roommates at YaoiCon. XD
Anyway, uh, not looking forward to Chemistry. D:
I have so much anime to watch once NaNoWriMo ends. In the meantime, though, NaNoWriMo is going fairly well. I've found if I struggle through a half-hour or so of slow writing, I generally get a kick of faster writing after that. It's just those darn transitory scenes that keep getting me.

Date: 2007-11-06 05:03 am (UTC)Yeah, I'm having verisimilitude problems as well. =/ Just don't stumble over it too much; as long as it's not a huge gaping plot hole, it can easily be edited later. ^_^

Date: 2007-11-06 05:27 am (UTC)I know! I'm trying to just keep trudging forward regardless of quality. I keep threatening my inner editor in order to keep getting the words done.
Are you still stuck back where it says you are on your profile?

Date: 2007-11-06 05:31 am (UTC)Am I? I updated my profile about a half hour ago, but maybe it didn't go through yet...

Date: 2007-11-06 05:45 am (UTC)Ah, I see it now! Glad you're all caught up. :D How is your writing itself going?

Date: 2007-11-06 05:56 am (UTC)Well, I have to get over some more boring parts, too. Also, I have to write some newspaper articles within the story, which will probably prove to be the hardest part. x.x I think I'm on a roll now, though. =D Yay for us litficcers!

Date: 2007-11-06 06:29 am (UTC)Hooray for being on a roll! I'm getting on a small roll, too, so let's see how long I can take it. Newspaper articles do sound a bit difficult...and dry. D: But I trust that you can do it! And as long as they're not pages and pages worth, they shouldn't be bad.
Litfic is the best! I couldn't imagine being anywhere else. XD

Date: 2007-11-06 03:24 pm (UTC)Yeah, a little...and there's a certain style and all that, but at least they are pretty short (yesterday's was just 325). I'm sure I messed up already though, using "no-no" and weasel words for journalism. XD
Yeah! When I was making the character's subtle actions mean something big and packing in the Biblical references, I knew I wasn't doing mainstream anymore. XD I think I was confused initially because my premise and topic are very popular.
Yaoi con was fun
