Loss

This has been a tough year for so many people... I found out today that Roya's mother died unexpectedly. I talked to Roya on the phone tonight for a while, and she's having (understandably) a really hard time with it. I know there's only so much I can do, but I want to ease even a little of her pain if I can. I'll be going to the memorial ceremony tomorrow morning.

I almost feel like this year has been a lesson on loss and grief--but also on the value of life itself. There's been so much death in the past year... It's been painful. Sometimes life just seems so fleeting and fragile. That's why it's important (as difficult as it can be) to remember how precious life really is.

Go out and tell someone how much you love them today. Or, even better, multiple people. You never know if you'll get a chance to do it again, and even if you do get that chance for many years into the future, it's good to get in the habit of opening up and loving people openly. Our world would be such a different place if we all did this.

I do that almost everyday. Letting my family know how much I care for them. Yeah it feels this year has be rough on alot of us. As my friend always told me, everything will work out. :)

I know what you mean, and it certainly has. That's a good idea, though, exspecially because I've been lax about it lately. It's almost upsetting that people are so afraid to say "I love you" because Hollywood has perverted and glamourized such a profession, and because of the implications and connotations our culture attaches to it. It's sad, really.

Yeah, I have the feeling she hasn't been going on the internet very much lately, so I prolly wouldn't be able to get a hold of her by e-mail very well. It's ok. I'll ask Mac, I'm sure she'll have it. Thanks.
