pacificpikachuMy ability to blog about my boring life has yet again been thwarted by a) Pokémon and b) birds. Oh, and c) laziness. Yeah. So, if you don't see me writing much, I swear I'm still around and reading everyone's entries and such. It just depends on my motivation level whether I write anything in my own blog.
Uhhh...what to say? I'm not sure I'm going to write a Fanime report. I might still, but I'm just really really lazy and it wasn't as split into little events as it was filled with larger chunks of things, so there weren't a lot of small stories that were easily forgettable (which is why I usually write convention reports to begin with). Also, I have my videos of things, which make the convention a little easier to remember. It was glorious, though. There were several funny/strange stories I have that I'd like to write down at some point--"The Hand" being one thing, and going to yaoi with![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
cutemew/centimetre being another one. There were so many awesome and funny things, though, I don't know where to begin.
Pokémon, yet again, has sapped my ability to blog or even care about blogging. Today I spent a good chunk of the day looking up movesets and breeding for the right nature on Togepi and Rioru. I did succeed in getting Modest Togepi and Riolu, and I have a great many of both of these Pokémon left over if anyone wants 'em. Just let me know. I don't have wifi at the moment, but I'll be returning to dad's where I have wifi in a day or two. I evolved the Togepi into Togetic already (but not Togekiss yet) and I'm working on evolving the Rioru right now. Last night I also evolved my new Bold female Eevee, Moonstruck, into Umbreon, and I figure I'll turn her into a tank to annoy people with. XD MeadowWind, my Jolly female Eevee, will be evolved into Leafeon and raised. I'm so excited to raise a whole bunch of Pokémon, possibly for competitive battling.
Also, yesterday I got in three little tiny baby [Stellar's?] jays, so I've been quite busy taking care of them. They're so adorable and itty-bitty. ♥ The crow and magpie are getting huge and I'm trying to get them self-feeding now.
We tried to go see PotC 3 tonight, but it was completely sold out. Oh well. We went out to dinner and such instead.
Now for a Pokémon survey fromm0ny!
1) What was your first Pokemon game?
Pokémon Blue.
2) Can you remember who your starter was? If so, who?
A Squirtle named TORTIEE. XD
3) Did you ever complete the Pokedex in any games? Which one(s)?
Yes--in that first Blue version, a Yellow version, and a Gold version. I came very close on Ruby but didn't finish it all the way, and I'm working on finishing it on Diamond right now.
4) Did you watch the Pokemon anime? Who was your favourite character?
I watched it for years! I still watch it in Japanese fairly frequently, though I swore off the new episodes of the dub once the old voice actors left. Ash/Satoshi always has been and always will be my favorite character. ♥
5) Do you still watch the anime?
In Japanese, yes, somewhat. In English, no.
6) What's your favourite Pokemon type? Explain.
Probably Water just because I tend to like the water types. I also tend to really like Dark and Electric and Fire, though. I'm all over the place with favorites.
7) Who's your favourite Pokemon? Explain.
Mew. It's just so cute and powerful and it became very meaningful to me throughout all the years I've loved it. It's sort of become a symbol of everything I loved about my childhood, in a weird way, and I still get shivers sometimes when I think about it.
8) Which Pokemon do you dislike the most? Explain.
GOLBAT. WILL THEY EVER STOP HAVING THESE STUPID THINGS IN THE CAVES? I mean, Zubat is annoying, too, with its high-pitched cry and such, but GOLBAT and MEAN LOOK and GAHHHH. HAAAAATE.
9) Which is your favourite region? Explain.
Probably Kanto for nostalgic reasons, but Sinnoh for complexity/geography.
10) Which is your favourite Pokemon series? Explain.
Well, the oldest ones have splendid nostalgic value, but it's hard to say... I've thoroughly enjoyed every generation of Pokémon games, and I'm having an absolute BLAST with Diamond.
11) Can you say a series Pokedex, without a reference, in order?
The first 151 definitely, and probably the first 251. Anything beyond that is pushing it. ^^;
12) Do you know all the type advantages, disadvantages and all the super-effective moves for each type?
I most certainly do. I'm a bit of a competitive battler. Not nearly so much as a lot of people, but I know my stuff at least decently.
13) Did you prefer Pokemon before the new ones, or after?
I like all of them, to be honest. I know a lot of people don't like the new ones for each generation, and my first reactions to them tend to be wary and skeptical, but they always grow on me eventually.
14) Have you got an Original Character who is a trainer?
Well, I've got a few for fanfics. But they're not...typical OC trainers. Usually they're just side characters while I write about the Pokémon, or they're vehicles for the plot. I guess Dust from Dust and Ashes (which is not written but brilliantly playing out in my head) is somewhat developed for his role, but...eh. I'm not really into the whole OC thing.
15) Have you ever wrote a fanfiction story about Pokemon?
Oh, tons of them! I have a few I'm writing now/hoping to write. I started reading it when I was nine and started writing it when I was eleven. I've written a fair amount of borderline Ash/Misty and a lot of Pokémoncentric stories. Lots of dark, epic, angsty, messed-up stuff, believe it or not.
16) Was the OC based on yourself?
No, they never have and never will be. XD In fact, when I do create trainers, they usually tend to be very unlike myself.
17) Who is your favourite gym leader?
Misty and...er...Volkner. Misty's just a cool character. There is no deep reason for the second one, if you catch my drift. XD
18) What about Elite Four trainer?
Lance is cool. Ummm...I like Aaron from this generation, and Cynthia is pretty nifty, too.
19) If you lived in the Pokemon world, who would you starter be?
It would be a terribly difficult choice, but Chikorita is my favorite starter. It's just so adorable.
20) Which city would you live in before you started your journey? Why?
I'll be boring and say Pallet Town. Seems so peaceful there.
21) Would you travel just in the one region, or spread to other places?
I'd be all over the place.
22) Would you train just one type, or different ones?
I'd train my favorites, which span all types.
23) What kind of Poke-Person would you be? Trainer? Breeder? Gym leader?
I'd be a trainer for ages, and then probably retire into being a breeder eventually. I'm addicted to breeding Pokémon for some reason. XD
24) Would you collect gym badges? Or keep Pokemon as pets?
Collect gym badges! And spoil my Pokémon rotten, too.
25) Who is your ultimate two-on-two team?
Umbreon and...something. I don't know.
