Saturday was just...crazy. >.>
Dad woke me up at 6 AM on the dot, and I [very, very reluctantly] got up. I was so sleepy, and it was so dark outside I could still see the stars. So, I gathered my stuff, packed for overnight just in case Dad made us stay in San Francisco, and got in the car.
The car ride was really nice and relaxing... We listened to the new anime mix CD I made, which has music from Evangelion, Naruto, Fullmetal Alchemist, The Place Promised in Our Ealr Days, Noir, .hack//Liminality, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Macross Zero, Samurai Champloo, and Madlax... This was really cool, because Dad absolutely loved the CD. ^_^ Anyway, we watched the sun rise, and made it to the SAT testing center (Grant High School in Sacramento) about twenty minutes earlier than we needed to be there.
As a result, we cruised around randomly for a while, and Dad got me a donut and Snapple, as I hadn't eaten anything yet. I munched on that, and got in the big mass of teenagers in front of the school at 7:45 AM. There was much standing around. :P Eventually, we were sorted into two groups based alphabetically, and, because I saw no reason not to, I started talking to the girls in line next to me.
Well, go figure, turns out one of them was a fellow writer/anime fan! So, we talked about life, ranches, Naruto, what types of writing we do, and our little conversation lasted until we got to the registration. That took about twenty seconds, and then I took off by myself to room D-7 (with some help finding my way from random people).
Basically, we just sat around for a long time before the test started. I'm not going to go into great detail about the test...it was so tedious, I don't think it's possible to describe the state of mind I was in after sitting in that one place for more than five hours filling out the stupid bubbles. It wasn't a hard test at all, although I had a major neckache and a little bit of a headache after several hours, which made it really hard to concentrate.
Anyway, I think I reached new levels of bored while doing that test. :P
I got out at about 1:30 PM, left the school, found Dad and Ryan, and we got in the car and headed to San Francisco.
This drive was pretty much uneventful, other than picking up my aunt Nancy on the way. She brought candy, and we had fun conversations with her as usual. :D She's so cool. So, we got into San Francisco, I enjoyed the view (and spotted a gay couple, which was exciting to me. XD), and we went to the rock poster show Dad was so excited about. When we got there, we went and met Dad's friend Dave (who is a rock poster artist). The poster show...the second I stepped in there, I knew I would be bored quite quickly. :P It was a room about the size of the Dealer's Room of Anime Overdose, and it was...just a bunch of tables with rock posters.
Aunt Nancy and I occupied ourselves for the 2+ hours we were there by walking in circles, talking about weird things, discussing how much we dislike Britney Spears, and playing with coffee-stirring sticks. XD Somebody had put a sign up that said "Free Coffee" on big white paper, so we stole it and made a bizarre collage of drawings. It was so silly. XP The even funnier part was that several poster people walked by and asked if we were getting the poster artists to draw things on that paper (which we weren't, obviously), and other such comments. XD In response, we wrote "$16,000-- Auction later" in the corner.
I did one drawing of Naruto saying "Heh, I get to be seme tonight, Sasuke!" (only in Japanese), and then I did a horrified-looking chibi Sasuke, and put an arrow pointing to him that said "uke-chan!". I thought that was funny.
Anyway, we left eventually ( at about 7 PM... -_-), and went to Fresh Choice for dinner. I basically pigged out at Fresh Choice--all I had eaten all day was that donut and some chocolate. In summary: I was hungry. Aunt Nancy and I joked about people doing interior decorating by nailing fruit to their walls, and I went into what was essentially a laughing fit over this. XD I think you had to be there to understand the humor...
Dad wanted to spend the night in San Francisco, but I really wanted to get a good night's sleep and I wanted to hang out with Cody the next day, so I convinced him to just go home. At first on the car ride, Dad insisted on listening to "his" music, so we turned on Sarah Mclachlan (who I really like). However, for some entirely unknown reason, Ryan decided that Sarah Mclachlan music was "scary" and made him "think the world is going to end", so we were forced to turn it off. >< Then Dad turned on...someone who was okay, but much too...not relaxing for how I felt. So, when that CD ended, Dad said we could go back to my music. XD So we listened to Last Exile and Arjuna the rest of the way, both of which Dad loves.
Got home at about 11 PM and crashed pretty much before I hit the bed. Really. I was completely exhausted.
I slept extremely well, and had a weird dream that I only sort of remember. It involved doves, a parking lot, a parakeet named Limpit who had a skull injury, the most beautiful sunset I'd ever seen, a digital camera that didn't work, and someone getting ahold of the second Naruto movie before me (which was very upsetting to me XD).
I woke up at around 9:30 AM, but from 6 AM on I was sort of awake and...obsessing. Not gonna talk about that right now.
Anyway, I got up eventually, took a shower, checked e-mail, and all that. I really wanted to call Cody, but first Dad was on the phone for a long time, and then Ryan was talking to Jake, so I had to wait a while. So, he came over and we just watched Naruto for a very, very long time. From 107-119, actually. Thirteen episodes in succession. XD Very enjoyable. Snuggled a lot. Was very happy.
After those thirteen episodes, we took a break and made peanut butter toast and quesadillas. I decided to show him Narcissu, which is...well, I don't know how to describe it. (Thanks to
archaicmukashi for finding it! ^_^) I hadn't read it yet, but I found it fascinating, so I showed him anyway. We started reading it, and throughout the next hour or so, we ended up reading all of it.
All I can say is: Wow. Just...wow. It was so moving and beautifully done, and such a gorgeous story... It was just beautiful. So sad, but so uplifting and...augh, I can't put it into words. Just download and read it. NOW. I mean that.

Cody left after that, and now we just had dinner, and that's pretty much all that's going on right now. It was so nice getting to hang out and relax with him today. :) It was a perfect foil to yesterday.
10 years ago:
- I was seven years old, and in second grade.
- I started a weird mini-cult thing that centered around a house across the street from our classroom, and involved the owners of that house keeping dead bodies of animals in their garden. I'm not even kidding. XD
- My best friend, named Sarah, tried to convince me I had a crush on a guy named Arthur in the class, even though I didn't.
- I saved a girl in my class from another boy in the class wielding a pocketknife and threatening her.
- I played a lot of games in which I was a sickly animal trying to gather food for hibernation.
- Wow, I'm getting a lot of memories. I'll shut up now...
5 years ago:
- I was addicted to Pokémon fanfiction. No, really. I love fanfiction now, but then I was so devoted to fanfics that I didn't sleep or eat. I was still writing fanfics the old-fashioned way--in a notebook.
- I was in seventh grade (...I think?). I was in Grass Valley Charter School, where I made friends with Louisa, Amy, Alisa, Natasha, Alicia, etc.
- I would make Pokémon board games with my friends during recess with a ton of Pokémon toys and big pieces of paper. :D
- Those were the days... *Sigh* Probably one of the biggest nostalgia-years for me.
- I discovered my religion...which I'm not elaborating on.
1 year ago:
- I got into Naruto and LiveJournal...w00t! Thought they were both going to be transient phases, which they weren't.
- I was sixteen, and pretty much like I am now. Except with less psychological issues. XD (Just kidding...sort of. :P)
- My CDs were stolen. ;_;
- I was still working on my Kumagorou costume.
- I hadn't met Maaya Sakamoto. XDDD
...Lots of things.
Yesterday:
- Took the SATs. Almost died of boredom.
- Look at the entry, dammit!
5 snacks I like:
- Pocky
- Fruit snacks
- Lucky Charms cereal (which is gross, but I love it anyway.)
- Jello
- ...Bishounen?
5 songs I know all the words to:
- "Cloud Nine" by Maaya Sakamoto (from Wolf's Rain)
- "Turkey Dance" by Moosebutter
- "Blue" by Mai Yamane (from Cowboy Bebop)
- "Bright Eyes" by Art Garfunkel (from Watership Down)
- ...THOUSANDS OF SONGS. No, really. In fourteen languages, too.
If I had $45 million:
- I'd go to Japan and BUYYY everything.
- I'd shower my friends in presents.
- I'd buy a house for my Mom, and a house for my Dad.
- I wouldn't be very worried about paying for college, now would I?
5 bad habits:
- Clinging to/stalking people I really love.
- Putting anime into every conversation, no matter what it is.
- Internet smilies. XD Especially that one.
- Pulling the skin off my fingers.
- Saying things in random Japanese and expecting people to understand...
Didn't proofread--will fix later. Gotta go. Bye!
