Work, work, and more work.

Not a lot to say about today. My family and I mostly did work on the chicken coop all day. I took a few breaks to go online for small amounts of time (and I finally started downloading Ouran, because I don't want it to get licensed before I get time to download it--like what happened with Mushishi), and I also cleaned the guinea pig cage and arranged all my fifteen or so bird cages in the shed, but that's really it.

Oh, when I did go online, though, there was some drama going on in cf_hardcore. Some girl with serious logic problems insisted that it was possible to be childfree and pro-life at the same time, and all this other weird stuff that made NO sense. I don't know, it's kind of hard to explain, and I don't feel like trying.

[Insert long rant about the stupidity of fundies and how much I want to be sterilized that I decided to delete before posting because I don't want to ruffle feathers.]

I started reading her post, but couldn't make much sense of it either. Then again, I spent part of this evening with two married childfree friends of mine (who are perfectly normal) and going from that to reading about people who think children are hellspawn (without including themselves) made me roll my eyes up into my head. I think her point was that women can choose to be childfree and pro-life by not choosing abortion as a birth control method.

We understood her point, to a degree (as her logic was rather...um, odd), but the point is that there are different, well-established definitions for Childless by Choice and Childfree--and she stated that she would not abort the fetus if she did somehow get pregnant, which would make her Childless by Choice. Only people who would never give birth under any circumstances are considered Childfree.

That's cool you have childfree friends--a lot of people automatically dismiss childfree people as being freaks or child-haters. While most childfree will rant about poor parenting and children misbehaving if given a chance (and please realize that cf_hardcore is the free rant space for CFers), the majority don't actually hate kids--but rather just prefer not to be around them.

Despite being hardcore childfree (and wishing to be sterilized as soon as I can find a doctor to perform the procedure) I like most kids quite a bit and enjoy being around them just so long as it isn't constantly (though I admit I have a phobia/intense dislike for babies), so...um...

I forgot what point I was trying to make. XD;;
