I wasn't going to write tonight simply because I haven't felt like it lately, but I need something to do while I think, so I might as well. I was also planning on going to bed much earlier, but I suppose that's out, too. I don't feel sleepy at all and although I hate being sleep-deprived I kind of want to take advantage of the fact that I can only sleep in for six more mornings.

SO. I slept in until about 11:30 AM this morning and only got out of bed very reluctantly. I don't remember much of this morning. I ate stuff and fed the chickens and guinea pigs, but other than that my memory fails me.

I've had some weird dreams lately, by the way. I can't remember many of them very well at this point, because some of them are about a week old, but I know I had one dream where Peter S. Beagle (author of The Last Unicorn was Zoe's uncle who lived in San Francisco (even though I know he lives in Davis oops, nevermind, Oakland). We went and visited his house, where he (for some reason) had autographed and first-print copies of his books on display everywhere. He was also a bit cranky for some reason. Whatever, dream. I've also had another of those weird, awesome dreams where I can just fly by flapping my arms, though not very high, far, or fast. No one else can seem to do it, and as a result I have a blast just flying around and teasing people and it's SO much fun. It's also so realistic it always takes me a while when I wake up to realize that no, I can't actually do that. I think I've had about one hundred of those dreams so far. It's almost like they've become their own little separate reality. Very pleasant.

I had an uber-cracktastic dream this morning, but I can't remember it! It's very tragical indeed. ;_;

I took a shower after completing my animal chores, and then Mom and I went to the college. I got my ID (from Jennifer, yay!) and bought my books for all my classes but my Chemistry class (which is going to be bad because it has four books to buy, and one of them is $160 at least). I also resolved my FAFSA issues for the most part, thankfully. Geez, took me long enough. I still have to make absolutely sure that I'm getting the FAFSA money, though, and I have to attend orientation on Wednesday in addition to attempting to buy my Chemistry books. There's probably other stuff I have to do, too.

Any college people, can you assure me college is survivable? Because I'm nervous and getting scary feelings that I'm just going to fail immediately and then lose at life. ;_; Any tips, ideas, advice? Anything? What to expect? I'm also nervous because I have to actually do well (B+ at the lowest) in the classes I normally SUCK at: namely, Chemistry and math. I'm not sure I'm ready for Statistics, but I guess I'm just going to have to study myself into the ground and work really hard. It's going to be tough getting into vet school.

After going by the college, I got some ice cream at Rite Aid (Strawberry Cheesecake and Coconut Pineapple mmmmm) and went into Wonderful Pets while Mom was in the bank. There was a pretty wolf hybrid there. ♥_♥ I didn't ask his owner if he was a wolf hybrid, but I could tell and he was just so pretty.

I went home, put the ducks in the bathtub with some lettuce for them to eat (they LOVE retrieving lettuce from the water more than anything else in the world) while I cleaned their cage. Then I...um...did other stuff I can't remember, and cleaned the pheasant cage shortly after. I watched some AMVs for a while, went online, and started coloring my Haruhi picture with markers. Gahhhhh this was frustrating. It kept smudging the inking I did for some reason, and in trying to fix some areas it turned out worse. T_T I love the lineart for this picture, so I'm really hoping it'll sort itself out in the end.

Well, that's about it. I'm looking back at e-mails and LJ comments and entries and such from a while ago, and that's...interesting. It's really making me think about things. I won't expand on this because I'm starting to get tired, though. -_- 'Night.

Actually, Peter S. Beagle lives in Oakland, and has sine late 2001. He used to live in Davis...

Really? Oops, thanks for the correction! That's good to know. I knew I should have checked the date of that website I was on.

You're welcome. Of course, although he lives in Oakland, right now he is snoring about ten feet away from me in a hotel room here in Sherman Oaks, in southern California. (We had a long day today pitching his novel TAMSIN to various Hollywood production companies.)

Oh, that's wonderful! Glad to hear it. Tamsin was awesome and I'd love to see a movie of it. I'm sure it's redundant, but be sure to tell him that I love his books so much I dream about them and that I was recently overjoyed to discover an old printing of The Fantasy Worlds of Peter Beagle at a fair, which I'm now reading and in love with. The Last Unicorn is my favorite book EVER, hands-down, and it means a lot to me.

Best of luck with all that pitching! It's very nice to talk to you! :)

I think you just made my day.

Peter is awake now, and says to tell you that your message made his day.

Do you know about Peter's free email newsletter, THE RAVEN? It's the best way to be kept up to date on everything that is going on with him and his projects. If you want to get it, you can sign up at: http://www.peterbeagle.com/raven/

Wow. That just made my week. Or month. Or year, even. :O

Oh, I'll sign up for that right now!

Thank you so much--I really appreciate you telling him my little message. His books are what inspired me to continue writing, and I hope to publish at least a novel or two once I get through vet school (and maybe before). Haha, I carried The Last Unicorn around with me literally everywhere for several years, so I could just pick it up at any time and read random passages of it.

Again, best of luck, you two! I can't tell you how much it means to me to get to talk to both of you.

While I'm just as new as you to this whole college thing, if you ever need any help with your Stats class, don't hesitate to ask. I should still have my notes from last year around here somewhere...

Thanks for the offer! I might just take you up on that sometime...

Maybe we can help each other out with getting used to college. ^_^

You're still living at home even though you're going to college, right? You shouldn't have any problems or really even anything new to adjust to, then. D: Don't worry about it! Just make sure to put the time and effort into working for your classes, even if the immediate results don't seem beneficial. (Since most classes only grade a few big things for your entire grade, smaller assignments may seem like they don't matter, but they're good for actually learning the material.)

Yep, living at home. Thanks so much for the advice--that makes me feel a lot better. :)
