May. 5th, 2006 08:14 pmLast night, the Audobon meeting was really interesting. We got to see the beautiful kite (who I referred to as a kestrel in the last entry he was mentioned--my bad) again, as Jay brought him along, and there was discussion of bald eagle releases, preventing people from obtaining hawk traps, the tendency of female birds and humans to migrate, statistics of which raptors came into the raptor center last year, and lots of other things. I'm glad I went. :D Jacqui also gave me about 1000 mealworms after the meeting, to assist me in my attempts to get the bird self-feeding. As a result of Mom picking me up late, though, I didn't get to bed until about 11:30 PM. Then I was awakened at 6 AM sharp, so I was a little tired today. Gathering all the bird foods and materials while half-asleep in close to NO time (Mom was on her way to work, which started at 7 AM) was rather difficult.
I slept for most of first period. Or...sort of slept, anyway.
I did a make-up test for Government (because I missed it yesterday due to the AP test) and then watched the discussion on taxes, testing drugs on people in abject poverty in exchange for $100, and the almost-legalization of small amounts of drugs by the Mexican government. Drugs are a popular topic of discussion on discussion days. @_@ I think plenty of other topics are more interesting, but whatever. *Shrug* This is a high school, after all.
PE...eh. We ran and I played tennis with a rather nice, also incompetent girl in my PE class. So, we were incompetent and barely able to hit the ball together. It was nice having a pathetic teammate, too--I always feel like I'm bogging good players down if I become their partners, and that doesn't seem fair.
Lunch and Art have somewhat merged into one thing, seeing as Zoe and I have quit our place outside of the choir room (for reasons I will not mention--they're actually pretty funny, but I'll refrain XD;;) in favor of the art room, so we spent our time in the art room discussing Fanime and such. I don't remember most of our other conversations. I'm sure they were funny and I'll probably remember them at about 1 AM tonight and wish I had written them down, but that's just too bad. :p
Mmmm...the tea in English was particularly good today. Also, the Senior Project presentations were awesome! Aaron sang a few songs he wrote and recorded on to CD, and...wow that boy is good. I mean, the entire class was clamoring for his CD afterwards. I was so, so, so impressed. He sounds better than most of the professional songwriters/singers/musicians you hear these days. Then we got to see Sean Dooley's music video--which was also many, many levels of awesome. I mean, it had him in a hot dog hat and red jumpsuit, a personal in a squirrel suit, ninjas and pirates, Jesus, atomic bombs, soda innuendo and other things. You don't want to know. It was hysterical and very well-edited. It also caused me to lose some confidence in my AMV project. ._.;
During seventh period, I read some Time magazine and fed my bird. That's about it. >.>
Mom picked me up after that, and...um...there's not much to say, though we did do errands and Mom's throwing a baby shower at our house today for her friend (ick! Glad I won't be there).
Well, I'm getting the other baby scrub jay tomorrow. We're leaving for Yuba City at around 11 AM, and apparently Jacqui's coming along, too. So it's going to be a bird-woman day out...thing. XD;; It should be lots of fun, though. I was going to get two scrub jays, but the other one died the night before last, most likely of hypothermia (they die of cold easily). ;_;
I feel kind of bad...I haven't watched any anime since I got the bird! I'm kind of having withdrawals here. XD;; I also haven't spent any time outside of school with any friends. Maybe I'll have someone over on Sunday.
I was totally going to work on my AMV today, but I just watched what I have of it...and it feels somewhat mediocre, the preview window keeps lagging on it, Dad hasn't turned off the blaring TV since we got home (hard to concentrate, even with my good headphones), and I'm too tired to work on it at the moment. I'm in more of a writing mood, which I guess is good despite the fact that I'm not doing what I need to get done. At least I'll maybe work on my angst NaruSaku/SasuNaru fanfic, and if I'm not in the mood to write that, I might write this REALLY OLD Pokémon plotbunny that has been haunting me lately. I keep wanting to write it and make it really heartbreaking and wonderful. I hope I can do it and don't give up on it. It *might* be titled Dust and Ashes (ironic, seeing as Ash isn't involved in any way, shape, or form) because that's what I'm thinking of naming the main character and his Eevee (I know Eevees are overused--STFU. :P I thought this up at least five or six years ago--give me a break). I'm not going to summarize the plot unless I have a lot of time to do so, because when I give just the skeletal overview of it...AUGH, it sounds...not right. Let's just put it that way. x.x
So, I'm going to go take a shower and then probably work on fanfics. Meh. Need to work on my AMV soon--it's due next Friday! And I need time to figure out the special effects and tweak it to my liking (or at least semi-liking). Maybe I'll have Zoe over tomorrow night or Sunday--she's supposed to be my mentor, and she's good at offering constructive advice, so perhaps she could help me. ^^; Good night!

Date: 2006-05-06 05:28 am (UTC)Also... I would love to get a copy of your Pokémon story when you write some. =) I have my own, but like you when I try to explain it to people it comes out sounding really craptastic. If you send me yours, I'll send you mine. ;)

Date: 2006-05-06 03:57 pm (UTC)I'll try to send the fanfic to you whenever I get to writing it, but at this point I have only one paragraph on it. I'd be happy to read your fanfic whenever you finish it, too! I have quite a bit of older Pokémon fanfiction--some of it really old and craptastic, and some of it somewhat decent--so if you'd like to read that, I can give you a link.
