Life is full of little surprises. ^^
Nov. 13th, 2005 12:39 pmSo, today I woke up, fed the chickens, and went to go clean the guinea pig cage. I caught Sheska easily enough, but Winry was still in the box. So, I lift the box up, and...there's some strange form there. It took a second to process what it was.
It was two newborn baby guinea pigs!
Unfortunately, one of them was stillborn (poor little thing ;_;), but the other one was quite fine and absolutely adorable. The thing with baby guinea pigs is that they're born fully functional, furry, and able to eat adult foods (in addition to their mother's milk), so they look just like little tiny adult guinea pigs. ^_^ I mean, this little guy or girl was born this morning, and it's already walking around by itself. o_o
This was only half of the surprise, though. I brought the three guinea pigs in the house so I could clean the cage, and Mom was holding Sheska, and she discovered that Sheska is also pregnant. We can even feel the babies moving around! So, we're expecting two more guinea pig babies in the next few days.
Baby guinea pigs are SO CUTE. I'll see if Dad will let me borrow his digital camera tomorrow so I can take some pictures. I hope Sheska's delivery goes well.
Anyway, it's just exciting. :D
