First day of the last year...
Aug. 17th, 2005 04:35 pmI'm tired from this disruption in my sleep pattern (which previously was around 2 AM-12 PM, and is now 10 PM-6:30 AM), so I'm not going to go into great detail...
As usual, I dreaded going back to school. Even the mere idea was torture.
...
Of course, the moment I arrive, it doesn't seem so bad at all, and I'd even go so far as to say I pretty much enjoy it. XD;; Sort of, at least.
Well, I instantly headed for the middle room, was disgruntled to discover it was all locked up (of course, we later learned this was because of a rat infestation and not us being too annoying), but while standing there, I did locate some friends, so I was happy.
I went and stood in the long line for schedules (after some confusion as to what the 'patio' was--turns out it was the space in front of the cafeteria...which I've never once thought of as a 'patio'), grabbed mine, located random people (Erik rambled about Air. So far, every Air fan I've met has been male. Coincidence?), and...um...basically wandered for a while.
Here is the schedule. Remarkably, they only screwed up once, and I'm too lazy to correct it, so...meh.
(Period. Class - Teacher - Room)
1. Peer Tutor - Need to find someone to tutor for - ?
2. Economics - Mr. Bothun - G19
3. Upper Level PE Activities - Mr Humphers - Varies
4. Lunch
5. Advanced Drawing and Painting - Mr. Baxter - J203
6. English 4AP - Mrs. McLean - E3
7. Open Period (w00t!)
I was supposed to do Cross-age Instruction (or whatever the hell that's actually called...) for PE credits this year, but I'd have to give up my open 7th, which is something I am unwilling to do. REALLY not looking forward to PE, but...whatever. I suppose I'll live some way or another.
During the time I was supposed to finding someone to Peer Tutor for, I ended up standing in line with Makayla and...dammit...I always forget her name. Anyway, this really nice girl I befriended in the Anime Club who loves Naruto, too. >.> *Feels bad* Anyway, we talked about school, silly things, and anime, as usual, while we stood in line for schedule changes. Not that I actually got anything changed or anything...but...y'know. I was there for...moral support or something. In short, I ended up walking people to classes, and waiting outside my second period class for second period to start.
Got some curious glances and yells of "KITTY!" throughout the entire day. Most of the school is used to me by now, though, so it wasn't that big of a deal. I imagine the freshmen were confused, though. It was really funny watching the poor little freshmen with their huge backpacks and such. I swear, they get smaller every year.
I'm sort of tempted to freak some of them out by stalking them and/or being overly friendly. "OMG! Do you like the school?! How are you adjusting? Are you making lots of friends? What're you doing? Blah blah blah...!" I think that would be funny. XD
So, in my Economics class, we each get a computer at our desk. It's pretty nifty. :D I had to seriously resist the urge to check my e-mail and go on LJ... My Econ teacher seems totally awesome and tolerant of just about everything, so I think the class is going to end up being fun and interesting. We got our textbooks and such, and...yeah. Played computer games for part of the period. ^^;
PE is the most concerning class for me, as I hate PE... Mr. Humphers seemed a lot less intimidating than he did back when I was a Freshman, but I still don't wanna do it. *Whinegrovelsnivel* >< We didn't do anything other than sit in the bleachers, listen to Mr. Humphers talk, and get rearranged for roll call. Well...I sat there and read Gravitation Vol. 12 in Japanese, and was disappointed when no one asked about the fact that it was in Japanese. ;_; I'm pathetic.
I DID find a fellow Naruto fan in PE, though, so that makes me tons happier. She had a cute picture of Naruto on her binder, and two keychains: Gaara and Kakashi. The Naruto fans, no joke, are taking over the school. :D Rosie was saying that the teachers are going to start thinking the headbands represent a cult or something because so many people wear them. XD
After that...was Lunch. Which basically consisted of me finding KK, Nicole, and Makayla, talking loudly, and Nicole and KK getting in a sandwich fight. No, seriously. Nicole was throwing her sandwich at KK. XD;; Nicole has a "normal" friend named Danya who just became a Freshman this year, so she was immensely disturbed. We warned that it would get a lot worse. Which it will. XD Lots of "I'm seme!" "NO, I'm seme!" arguments, too. Because we're weird like that.
When I went to Advanced Drawing and Painting, I immediately discovered that Zoe and Kathryn are in my class! Happiness. We teased Mr. Baxter about his full first name ('Terrence' XD), had the usual "I'm BACK, Mr. Baxter," showdowns, and insisted to know why the art room was so CLEAN. (Which is UBER weird.) For those who don't know, Mr. Baxter is practically the most awesome art teacher ever. We all joke with him all the time. XD;
Mr. Baxter just talked basically the whole time about...stuff... Kathryn, Zoe, and I got in a conversation about songs that are inappropriate to sing in public (namely, "I Wish I Was a Lesbian" and "If You Were Gay" and "If I Were Gay" and others), and then we got on the "If you're fond of sand dunes..." song from the AMV A Total Waste of 6 Minutes and 35 Seconds. We sang that for most of the period. Kathryn drew a guy's face with a weird ear, and then she gave me the pen and asked me to add to it. So I made feathers sticking out of the back of his head, and hence he became "The Birdman". Kathryn doodled his really WEIRD looking hand (like a bird foot with a really, really messed-up thumb), and I started laughing so hard I couldn't stop when we were discussing him. OMG, he was hilarious-looking. The funny thing was, he wasn't even badly drawn or anything...he was just weird because of his "defects". Oh, and I also wrote "YAOI: Ask me how" on his shirt. XD
Went to English after that. It's really nice to be in Mrs. Mclean's class again--I had her Freshman year for English 1X, and she's a great teacher. :) Very nice lady. She talked about the normal stuff, and read an excerpt out of a story about Vietnam soliders (which was awesome, by the way), and then assigned us a little Creative Writing-esque thing that I still have to do.
After English...well, I was free, but the majority of the school was not. Aaand...I had forgotten to tell Mom that I get out early, so she was expecting to pick me up at 2:30 PM. It was 1:20 PM. I wandered around with hopes of finding Cody, who also has open seventh, but after a while of not being able to find him, I went up to the parking lot to see if his car was there. I sat in the shade near the parking lot for about forty-five minutes to see if he'd show up, but he didn't. ;_; By then, I figured I might as well just go to where Mom would pick me up, and eventually she did... And that's about it.
Roya's supposed to come over fairly soon, so that'll be fun. More SasuNaru tormenting? Heck yes.
Feeling even more fond of SasuNaru than usual right now. Sort of that nostalgic, "But you're my best friend..." type of feeling. I have a feeling that if I actually had the energy to write something right now, it would turn out bittersweet and brilliant.
Gah, I'm tired. I want to take a nap, but I'm convincing myself not to.

Oh, I'm going to try to. It's so troublesome to have to deal with PE, though...
I think I'm turning into Shikamaru or something. @_@

...In the new HP book, Ron said the same thing about new first years. XD I just find that funny.
AND YES - STALK THE FRESHMEN AND FREAK THEM OUT! X333
Actually, I'm going to be a Freshman too, but whatever.That would be funny!no subject
Date: 2005-08-18 01:26 am (UTC)Wow, that's ironic...especially considering I haven't read the new HP book yet. (It is currently sitting on my floor next to my bed.)
I'm tempted to stalk the Freshmen... I just have to find a nice, normal one that would totally freak out when they have a cat-eared Senior chasing them around.
