So much for "I don't read fanfiction on my Mom's computer." I was up 'til one or two in the morning last night reading Naruto fanfics...again. *Addicted* There are so many good ones out there! It makes my fangirl heart flutter. I need to start my own fanfic someday... I got a few sentences, but I'm not sure if they'll lead the way I want them to at the pace I want them to.

So, Nicole, Cody, and I went down to Roseville today to see Howl's Moving Castle. :D Excitingness!

Nicole came over at about 11:40 after her voice lesson, and she was having me listen to Avenue Q songs in my room while we waited for Cody. At 12:30, he still hadn't shown up, so we were forced to call him and request his presence. We both gave him HUGE hugs when he walked in the door, and we sat on my couch and looked at his awesome Spain pictures until it was time to leave. Man, those cathedrals are *gorgeous*. He also got some really funny pictures--like Mr. Baggett's head, people sleeping in compromising situations, and various other things I can't remember. XD;; Loved 'em.

He also brought me a Hamtaro pin from Spain, which caused giggling for a very long time. (We have this in-joke that Hamtaro-tachi are the minions of the devil, and I'm fighting a losing battle of addiction with the big-eyed hamsters. This is actually not true... At least, not really. I mean, I did play the video game all the way through, and I know the Japanese opening and ending theme by heart, but I can't even sit through an episode of the show. XD;;) So that was extremely funny, and I'll probably put it on my bag with all my other pins. ^^;;

We began watching Naruto a little before we left, and then continued it in the car. Cody was there, and he's only on episode 30-something, but he watched the episodes with us anyway. XD They're so far ahead it's hard to really call them spoilers... We were watching episodes 123-126, which are, of course, excellent episodes. I can't wait to watch episodes 132-135 with Nicole, so she can join KK and I in the ranks of SasuNaru love. She keeps trying to justify NejiNaru now, just because I brought up the fact that it has lots of fans (which I'm not sure I think it deserves at all...). XD;

We got to the theater almost precisely on time, so we rushed out, bought tickets, bought some candy and soda with the remaining money, and seated ourselves about four or five rows back. There weren't a lot of people, and most of the people there were families, but there was a group of about five fellow otaku, too. Of course, we didn't notice them until during the credits, so we didn't get to talk to them or anything.

Anyway, I *loved* Howl's Moving Castle! It was so entertaining (we laughed most of the way through), beautiful, and well-done! And of course, Howl himself... *cough* Very, very pretty. Nicole and I started giggling fangirlishly virtually every time he came on screen. My little brother kept asking us why we were laughing, but we never did answer him on that one.

The scarecrow also made us laugh every time it was on screen, just because of the way it boinged up and down all the time. XD

And I loved the dog! Heen, is that his name? He was so cute in such a weird way, and I loved the noises he made and the way he moved. His feet were so funny, and he was just...so cute! I want a plushie of him or something.

My favorite scene was Howl's temper tantrum, because it was just... XDDD;; Especially when the towel fell off. OMG. So funny!

All the scenes involving the shooting stars were beautiful...and Howl's flower garden was... *_* Majorly.

Nicole, Cody, and I got all excited when we heard Crispin Freeman, especially because Nicole and I had just been talking to him ten days ago. XD;; Awesomeness. Also, we saw GONZO listed in the credits, and I know a lot of people from GONZO, too.

When it ended, we wanted it to rewind and start over again. XD So we kept yelling, "Rewind! Rewind!"

That was when we realized the other otaku people were there, because they laughed at our "rewind!" exclamations and recognized GONZO, too. And one of the girls had a Fruits Basket bag, but it wasn't really a situation were it would've worked to socialize with them, so we didn't talk to them at all.

Anyway, long story short, I loved it muchly. XD; 'Twas wonderful. Very, *very* different from the book, but not in a bad way at all. Just...a great movie. Maybe not as affecting as Spirited Away for me, but wonderful nonetheless.

Then we watched more Naruto and some AMVs on the way back, Cody and Nicole left, and I spent most of the rest of the day watching shows on the paranormal. Well, and I did a little Health... >< I despise that course.

I also got my next Japanese course in the mail today! I'm excited. ^^ Especially seeing as the first section of it is on weather-related words, and I knew every *single* word on the list. Which is like, thirty words, at least. XD This made me happy. Looking over the course also made me realize just how well I know hiragana now. I can read it almost as fast as English. @_@

My room is burning up. ._.;; It's been so hot and icky lately... I hate this weather. ._.

Oh, I forgot to mention that a few days ago I saw War of the Worlds. I actually really liked it--it was epic and awesome and very suspenseful. It also had a lot of great imagery in it (the bodies coming down the river, the clothes falling from the sky, etc.), and fairly good writing. It was just...cool! And this is saying a lot coming from me, because I'm a *tough* critic. It kind of freaked out my Mom and little brother, though. XD The only letdown was the ending, which was...an okay concept, but too rushed and anticlimactic. Kind of weird, because the rest of the movie was very climactic. Probably one of the better non-anime movies I've seen lately, though. I know I liked it a lot more than Star Wars...

Well, I'm going to go now. I want to go stand in front of the freezer or something...provided I don't get absorbed in Naruto fanfics again. I have a feeling I might. @_@

Oh, come on, NejiNaru is justified in the same way SasuNaru is, in which people want in Naruto's pants but he's clueless/obsessed with Sakura. XDD

And imagine being able to read through KANJI as fast as English! Man! ;; That would be awesome.

Eh...maybe. I admit seeing a *little* smidge there with Neji's whole obsession with Naruto saving him and all--but I honestly can't see it going anywhere. At all. XD That's just me, though, and I'm unhealthily smitten with SasuNaru, so I'm biased. :P

Aw, I *wish* I could read kanji! That would just be awesome... It's a little limiting knowing only hiragana and katakana, because I'll be trying to read a sentence and it'll come out with blanks for most of the subjects. ._.;; Grr.

Hee, Howl's. *gonna see it again tomorrow, if it's still at the theatre* Batman's in that movie, twice over. o.o (Bale and Will Friedle) My friend and I went into hysterical giggles EVERY DAMN TIME Howl opened his mouth. Christian Bale = love.

War of the Worlds was really, really good. That very last scene, at the end, where they make it to the grandparents house? The grandparents were the stars of the ORIGINAL War of the Worlds. How cool is that?

Howl in general equals love. XD I adored him while reading the book--now I adore him even more.

I agree--War of the Worlds was really, really good. o_o And, hey, that is awesome that the grandparents were the stars of the original War of the Worlds! Thanks for the info. That's cool. :3

Avenue Q = funny

I think I'm one of the few people who actually like the Hamtaro... dub. [/secret]

Whee, Howl's Moving Castle! I don't know where it's playing around here, but now I want to see it more than I did before.

I hope you're working on an AX report, girl! XD;

I order of paragraphs:

Yes!

*Gasp!* It's okay, your secret is safe with me. I know the names of all the Ham-Hams, so... *Blinks* Don't tell!

Yes, do see Howl's Moving Castle! It's totally awesome. :3

*Sniffle* I'm trying to... I'm at about five pages in teensy font, and I haven't even gotten to the convention yet. O_o; I have my Health and Japanese courses to work on, but between those and reading Naruto fanfics, I'm trying to work on it. ^^;;

OMGBBQ random stuff!!!

From: [identity profile] hitchi.livejournal.com
Wow. O_o Not even at the con yet... O_O I can tell it's going to be a lot...

But I must say now...OMG I GOT YOUR PACKAGE AND IT IS LOVE! SQUEEEEE~! *GLOMP* THANK YOU SO MUCH, I LOVE IT ALL!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! Yes! Girl, you've earned yourself karma points, brownie points, and any other kinds of points that exist! ^___^ My mother called me upstairs, and I ran, shouting, "OMG PRESENTSSSSSSS!" (When I was a little kid, we called the UPS truck the "present truck" because of the picture of the parcel on the side of it. I don't know if that was the truck that delivered your package, but I still call it that. XD) I opened it and started taking everything out, and my mother said, "Wow, this girl sends you all of this, and she's never even met you (in person)!"
"Yeah, well, we're friends. ^_^" Then she asked where in California you lived. I could easily tell her the name of the city, and I described the best I knew how as to where in California that is. She thinks you're really close to the border of another state, which I'm not so sure about. ^^; Anyhow, she said that we might go to Las Vegas or Portland next summer, and then we could work something out with visiting you!! Not necessarily that we would meet like that (we want me to come for AX, of course), but the fact that she even considered a meeting with you, and it being okay...it's so wonderful! =^^= [/oddness...for a second. XP]

I must at least try to be organized and talk about each thing one by one:
Outer Envelope: Eee, wonderful decorating! I am especially amused by the little chibi Naruto pic. :P Did you buy a mascot figure? ^,^ I love how Sasuke is so serious while Naruto and Sakura are uber genki. ^_^ I also found the "moisture resistant" Mudkip humourous. ^_^ So adorable. I like the Pikachu/Pichu pic, although I can't read all of the kanji...so I don't get any meaning that was supposed to be there, if any. ^^; My brother asked what Ryu'ichi's name was and which anime he was from, but...he thought he was a girl. XDXD; The large Naruto pic is coloured wonderfully! *_* I love it!

Hikago sticker: It's so beautiful. *.* I've never seen that picture, ever, let alone those outfits! I am still trying to figure out the symbolism with the geese flying across the moon and the phoenix. But I love pics of Sai with is flute...yes, I adore it muchly. ^_^ I didn't want to stick it on something permanently, so I found one of teh small, uber powerful magnets and stuck it to a picture hanger that was randomly nailed into the wall in my room. ^^; At first, I was at a loss as to where to hang it, as the area where I like to hang my anime stuff is nearly full. ._.; However, the place directly across from it works nicely. When (look at how hopeful I am) I go to AX with you, I can't wait to see Pierrot!

Tsubasa card: I think it's perfect! It's a good size...my mother doesn't like huge posters on my wall, and I don't have much room anyhow, so it works out! ^_^ I have to find a better way to hang it, as I don't want to contaminate it with tape, so...I put it back in the plastic cover and taped it adjacent to the Hikago pic. ^_^ I don't know what the little anime plastic posters like this are called, but it makes the image so clear and beautiful! Such wonderful detail. *_* I also adore that picture, so it's wonderful. I love what is says on front and back...I don't know if you read it to get a small idea of Tsubasa, but either way, you must see it! I know you're not a huge fan of Clamp, but you still must! Even if you don't like the storyline, the art is just...amazing. Such detail, really...sometimes profiles are drawn a little oddly, but that's Bee Train style. Sometimes I'm so busy staring at the animation that I miss a subbed line. ^^; And the music...it's Yuki Kajiura. I'm sure you don't want to get me started. XD And the voices are clear and beautiful...ah, I love it so. If you're interested and don't feel like downloading it, I can send it to you! And if you aren't completely satisfied, you can stop your subscription at any time, free of charge! XD (Why did I do that? XD;;)

LJ comment limit again. XD

White envelope: Sooooo pretty! I love all the soft tones of your drawings! I don't know if I mentioned this when I raved about your last package, but my mother is also really impressed by your art! Foretunately, there was a perfectly-sized spot to hang it in the aforementioned area of my wall that is now pretty much full. ^^; Did you know that Eevee was my favourite Pokémon? ^_^

Episodes: Well, I haven't watched any yet, but it's Naruto, so that's 'yay!' in itself. ^^; I think I'll save them, or at least most of them, for vacation...I don't know if you know, but a six hour drive to Baltimore... Naruto should keep me happy. ^^;

OSTs: w00t! I went into my room and listened to OST 1&2 right away. (I like to do things in chronological order...but would that make the op/ed CD first? No idea. XD) I whipped out your track list and cooked up a little system. (XD?) Organge dot=your recommendation; blue dot=song I like; star=really like. I didn't realize it, but it's the Naruto colours! ^^; Those just happened to be the two colours I picked up. Anyhow, to sum it up, it was a lot better than I thought it'd be! And just to think, if 1&2 is the lesser of the two...wow! I didn't get to listen to the whole thing before I had to leave, but I'll surely resume tomorrow. ^_^
So yes, thank you so much! *hugs tightly* I owe you. XD I feel like I'm forgetting something...well, my parents are yelling at to go to bed, but one more thing...

On a little more serious note...I was watching the Weather Channel yesterday, and there was a blurb about a lot about fires in California. I know more of them are in the southern parts, but I want to make sure you're okay and everything...I'm not sure what I could do to help...you can always call me and/or contact me in any way you like. I really hope you're safe, and just be careful, k?

I'm so glad you like it! XD I was hoping you would...

That's cool your Mom trusts me more now. If she wants to know, Nevada City and Grass Valley are about an hour from Sacramento, and an hour from Lake Tahoe. We're a little over an hour from the border with Nevada (hence why we go shopping in Reno). You know where the little crook-thing is in the California-shape? If you go over to the almost-middle, that's kind of where we are (I think... ><). Here's our newspaper's website: http://www.theunion.com/

That is wonderful she's considering us meeting! That would be so cool. You're welcome to call if you want to make plans (although I'll be out of town today and tomorrow.)

I ♥ the Naruto chibis! Yes, I bought a mascot figure. Actually, three of them that I keep on a necklace (Naruto, Sasuke, and Shikamaru). Once you see further in Naruto and decide who your favorite character is, tell me and I'll get you one. XD They're only about $2-3, and they're adorable.

I'm glad you noticed the Mudkip! ^^;;

I haven't the faintest what it says on the Pikachu and Pichu picture, so don't feel bad. XD

Isn't the Hikaru no Go sticker pretty? I tried to score you another one, but couldn't seem to.

The Tsubasa card is a shijitaki--a pencil board. :) I have several Naruto ones and all the Wolf's Rain ones.

If you want to send it to me, I'll watch it! XD

Where?!

Yes, I thought I remembered Eevee being your favorite Pokémon... I had fun drawing Naruto and Sasuke, as I'm always trying to get practice on those two (for nefarious SasuNaru pictures...bwahahaha). I have to do you an actual serious drawing sometime. I just have to find the time. XD

Yay, watching Naruto in the car is fun. I'd like to hear your reactions to everything, so try to blog it or something. XD I love hearing how my friends respond the certain things--that's why I don't usually lend my friends anime, and instead make them come over and watch it with me. XD I think you'll enjoy seeing all the characters getting more development, and all the actual cords of the story that will affect the rest of the show.

Glad you like the OSTs! Yeah, they really are quite good. My Dad even really likes them. And my little brother is obsessed with them. XD Can't wait to hear your feelings on the other ones, too. Just ask if you want me to burn you any anime CDs--CD-Rs are cheap, and I have LOTS of anime CDs.

Hmmm... I haven't even heard about fires. O_o;; They must be in Southern California, which is really far away. ^^;;

Ah, here it is. ^^;

Oh, I'll be sure to. If I can't remember, I'll at least write it in a notebook. I would love to come to your house and watch anime. XD; So I wouldn't mind if you didn't let me borrow it, if I lived there and all. XD

Yeah, I think my dad would actually like "Daily Life of Naruto." XD

Okay. ^^; That's good. ^_^
