*Phew* It's Friday...

pacificpikachuWell, guess what? Today Wendy called and told my Dad, "Oh, Kristin's name is The Union [local newspaper]!" Later on he called her back, and apparently I'm a finalist for the writing contest I entered a while ago. Here's the article, though the online version doesn't mention names for some reason:

I'm one of twelve finalists, out of 132 entries. ^_^ I actually posted the story a while back in my journal... It's the one called "Embers". Hope I do well... I have to go on Wednesday to the library for the awards presentation.
Let's see...today was good, albeit tiring. Mom drove me to school today because she's feeling better, so for once this week I got to see my friends before class.
In Creative Writing, we listened to stories and I played with a paper clip. Go me. Rae fed me pieces of her bagel.
In USHistory, we watched a random documentary on the Holocaust, which is, of course, so, so sad. ;_; I've always been fascinated by the Holocaust, just because it was so terrible. It's hard to believe how awful the human species can be...
Anatomy was great fun. XD We basically tested each others' eyesight for the entire period. Poor Erin was the only one in the class with glasses, and when she took them off she miserably failed EVERYTHING. I, however, have better than 20-15 vision. :O Meaning I could see the bottom line perfectly about twice as far away as you were actually supposed to stand. Everything else in my eyes is normal, too.
During my TA period, I made a few deliveries and then studied feverishly for my Trig test, which went over fairly well. I think I did okay...
In English, we ate cake for no apparent reason and I worked on my final. I somehow managed to draw Naruto without a reference, which makes me impressed with myself. Granted, it's just his head, but still. I need to practice him... His hair throws me off for some reason.
Then I went home and cleaned the dove cage and such.

Facts about the days I missed:
- In Anime Club, my DVD player wasn't working with Mr. Davis' TV >< so we ended up watching Shikamaru vs. Temari. XD Ricky, being the freak he is, went on the computer, somehow surpassed the adult-content blockers, and was looking at yaoi. The boy is STRAIGHT. I don't know what's wrong with him. XD
- Mau is a fun, fun game. Rosie, David, Laura, Kirstin, and I played it on the choir room floor on Thursday after school. It was Laura's first time playing it, and one of the rules is that you can't talk about the rules, so we laughed at her when she got confused. I got second place to Rosie.
- I'm really quiet around people I don't know very well. ._.; Francine picked me and her daughter Gabriela up from school every day this week, and I barely said a word. ^^;; This is saying a lot, considering I'm a total loudmouth.
FANIMEEE! The plans are going excellently so far. :D Cody's driving Zoe, Makayla, Ciera, and Roya, and my Mom is driving Ryan, Nicole, Selah, and me. :) As far as hotel rooms go, Zoe, Makayla, Ciera, and Roya are getting one hotel room, and Cody, Nicole, Selah, (my Mom and brother), and I are in the other. I'm all registered, my hotel room is reserved, and I'm going by the seamstress' this weekend hopefully to get that costume going ASAP. I can't wait!
Okay, a few dreams that deserve some writing down:
Dream One
It was a Pokémon 2000-type scenario. I had a glowing sphere thing that I was supposed to bring to the "middlegrounds" of Lakeland Village (the place where our townhouse in Lake Tahoe is), which apparently was Shamouti Island. I think Ryan and Cody were there as my companions, and Nicole might've been there, too, but now I can't remember.
We kept going to the pools for some reason, thinking they might be the so-called "middlegrounds", but eventually it occured to me that the pools aren't anywhere near the middle of Lakeland Village. So I wandered around the middle of Lakeland Village for a while, confused, and I soon realized that there was a layer of snow on the ground. Not only that, it was evening and snow was still falling lightly from the sky. The sky was obsidian-black, though, and the whole scene looked more like something out of a movie than anything else.
I don't know why, but at that point I decided to go back to the pool closer to the beach. There was a crowd of random people in tropical costumes standing around by the pool, waiting for whatever would happen when I brought the sphere to the appropriate place. I, however, still couldn't seem to find the right place. My companions split up in order to try to find the "middlegrounds", but they come back and found nothing. Somehow, the setting was both tropical and sunny and snowing at the same time.
The people around the pool were watching me, confused. They didn't seem to know who I was or what I was doing.
I don't remember actually finding the location of the "middlegrounds", nor the actual placing of the sphere, but I do remember seeing all the people starting to cheer. As I looked around, I realized Satoshi, Kasumi, Takeshi, and Haruka were standing right next to me. First my view focused on Takeshi and Haruka, who were laughing and hugged enthusiastically. I got the feeling it was just for the fun of it. It then showed Satoshi and Kasumi, who were smiling shyly at each other, and then they hugged in a really snuggly, affectionate manner. Awww. See? Even my subconscious is a Pokéshipper. XD
However, I got the mental note that the Advanceshippers were trying to use this as evidence for Advanceshipping. Uh...okay? O_o;
Then there was another part of the dream entirely. Kate Bowman (a great artist in my English class) and I were working together on a picture of horse-drawn carriages for a Halloween party. She did one horse-drawn carriage and I did another, and I was working on mine on "Photoshop". Except that this Photoshop was on the floor and I was using it like a tablet. Someone from my class walked up to me and asked me if the people in the carriage were "those freaky pokeemon people", and I told them that they were characters from Last Exile (except, as far as I know, they weren't).

Honestly, I don't remember this dream that well.
I was in an anime convention, I think, except it was in this dim, carpeted hallway and there were very few people there. There also didn't appear to be much as far as anime-related things went (or anything else, for that matter). I was floating above everything, because I had a weird-shaped hat made out of a balloon. Some random guy came up and popped the balloon-hat with his finger, so I floated over to a table and grabbed a new one.
The new one was red, white, and blue, and some random person came up and started harrassing me about it because I was "too patriotic". Riiight. I didn't even pick out the red, white, and blue one. O_o; It popped, too, soon after that, so I wandered around for a while looking for a new one. -_-
I soon came across a table of an anime dealer. He requested I watch his table for a few hours, and in return he would give me a new balloon-hat. He had some great Wolf's Rain and Pokémon posters I had never seen before, so I stole them and hid them so he wouldn't know. XD When he came back, it turned out he had Wolf's Rain balloon-hats (one of them had the four wolves running against the sunset), so he gave me tons and tons of them, so I put one on and floated off.
Then there was a second, dark part of the dream that I hardly remember. I know it was in a crooked, two-story white house that reminded me of a dollhouse, and there was something to do with clocks. I also know that Tia, my doves, and two of my chickens had died that day, and I was trying to come to terms with it. There was something eerie about the setting. That's all I remember.
Wow, I've been working on this entry on and off for about three hours. O_o; Better stop here.
