*Phew* Sorry about the disappearance
Feb. 22nd, 2005 04:10 pmMy internet at my Mom's decided randomly to be weird for the entire weekend, and thus it wasn't working. It changed our password. ><
Anyway, my four-day weekend went by way too fast. ;_;
On Friday night, Nicole and I stayed up 'til about 1:30 in the morning watching (and then, subsequently talking about) Naruto. We got up through episode 88, and finally decided it was time to stop and go to bed.
Itachi is sexy/frightening (as would be expected of Sasuke's brother ^^;;). His power is creepy as hell. Poor Sasuke...he's been so tormented. ;_; *Pet pets* Bunches of the Naruto episodes we watched were also quite comedic and fun, though. ^^
We had this great conversation that went something like this:
(Note: This probably won't be funny to most people. It was a context sort of thing.)
Me: "Lookit how cute Konohamaru is! I wish I had a little brother like him..." (Spurred by how Konohamaru calls Naruto "Naruto Nii-chan".)
Nicole: "Yeah, but if they were brothers, you know they'd hate each other."
Me: "Definitely true. It's practically a universal law."
Nicole: "Yeah! I mean, can you think of any two siblings who don't hate each other on at least some level?"
Me: "For instance, take Itachi and Sasuke!"
*Both of us crack up*
Me: (Continuing) "I mean, I don't think it's exactly normal, their sort of relationship. With the whole Itachi killing his entire family and now Sasuke living only to avenge that by killing his brother thing, but...y'know, it's still a good example."
Anyway, after watching, we sat in Nicole's room in the dark and talked philosophy (Naruto-style!). This isn't as abnormal as it sounds--with virtually any series you give us (even Gravitation, for Ho-oh's sake!), we'll analyze the profoundness of it. XD We basically got into a complex and interesting discussion about the meaning of existence, with Gaara and Naruto as examples. We also connected RahXephon in there, too, so it made for a deep (but rather odd) conversation. 'Twas cool.
The next day, Nicole had to vacuum the house and such until I left, so it wasn't as exciting. We made it slightly more fun by enthusiastically whistling and/or singing anime songs, however. Oh! And we watched Pokémon, so that was nice. Treecko evolved! Hooray! Mom picked me up at about 11 AM, and we went to K-Mart to volunteer with AnimalSave.
So...that was uneventful. I basically just held Tia and talked to people about animals. It's actually pretty fun, but there's still no one who's interested in giving her a home. ;_; Our landlord says we have to find her a home by June (because she doesn't get along with his dog when he's here), so we're hoping a really great family will come along for her. We wish we could keep her, though. Foster dogs aren't supposed to be permanent, however.
Once I got home after that, I fell asleep. Apparently, I was really tired, because I didn't wake up 'til FMA and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex were on. I watched those, had fun with that, and then went back to sleep until 11 the next morning. Can anyone say I slept alot? I basically missed out on that entire Saturday. -_-;
I've pretty much forgotten Sunday. I believe Ryan had a friend over (he had friends over ALL WEEKEND), but I can't remember who it was. I also seem to recall talking on the phone to Cody for about an hour, Louisa for about an hour, and Selah for about a half hour (about Escaflowne XD). Lots of sitting around the house doing nothing commenced.
Monday (AKA yesterday), Mom and Ryan were going to go to the snow and go sledding, but Ryan didn't want to go without a friend so he went to Tanner's house instead, thus freeing Mom and I. So, naturally, we went to Roseville, which is the closest place where anything happens.
On the way there, when we got to Auburn, a HUUUGE storm started. I DO mean huge, too--possibly the biggest I've seen personally. There was a tornado warning, too. O_O Absolute weirdness for California.
It was pouring so hard you literally couldn't see anything (we went to Ross and Target while waiting for it to subside), and there was clearly-visible lightning flashing every thirty seconds or so. Very intense, though I don't know how to describe just how intense it was. It was also hailing on and off.
It stopped after a while, so we set off for Roseville.
In Roseville, we went to Best Buy, Barnes and Noble, Michael's (a craft store), and were going to go out to dinner but failed. I bought Pokémon 7 (I had been waiting for the DVD to come out, instead of watching it edited, with icky quality, and with commercial breaks). I haven't watched it yet, though, due to lack of time. As a random comment, I think it's impossible for me to think of Tooi by any other name but Tooi. I don't know how this will affect my mentality towards the dub, but it's a random thought. Tooi = Tooi. Not Tory. Tooi.
I had a headache for parts of the trip (as did my Mom), but it was a nice, relaxed trip anyway. Listened to lots and lots and lots of anime music on the way there, and the clouds were SO pretty when the storm cleared. They were this slate-blue color with rims of white, and you could see every detail and crinkle on them, but they looked really distant and lit up the whole sky. It was awesome.
On the way back, I got a peach milkshake that was really good. I'm not sure what that has to do with anything.
Mom was going to watch Cowboy Bebop the Movie with me when we got back (after we picked Ryan up from Tanner's), but then she didn't because American Idol was on. I swear, someday I'm going to send a team of my best Pokémon on a mission to defeat that show. Must...KILL...AMERICAN IDOL!
I did my Math homework, watched some Naruto with Ryan (we stopped after part one of Naruto vs. Kiba), and went to bed.
Today felt so much like a Monday, even though it's Tuesday. -_- I've been tired/lazy/listless/lethargic all day.
First period...I showed off random Japanese fanarts I printed out to Rae and the exchange students. The exchange students were squeeing over Kiba's attractiveness (*^^* Yay!), and Rae was disturbed that I printed the slightly suggestive Gravitation pictures on photo-quality paper. She kept commenting about this. ^^;; The exchange students were chuckling over the shounen-ai, and seemed somewhat fascinated by it. I'm tainting the world, it seems, one person at a time. >3
US History...ehhh...too boring. Read chapters of the history book.
Anatomy...nothing exciting. Colored intestine worksheets with my markers. Talked to Erin a little. We're dissecting the cats again on Friday, which'll be fun.
TA period...same. Rory and I decided not to torment half-spoon girl today for once, and she started squealing that she loved Rory. O_o; WTF? Doesn't take much to make up for all the weird/frightening things we've done to her in jest... Oh well. We'll just have to give her a quarter of a spoon next time! >D Rory continued talking about how Angela is the grown up Dora the Explorer, which is just hilarious.
Lunch...was uninteresting, for the most part.
Trig was usual. More graphing, this time of arcsinx, arccosx, and arctanx.
English...we talked about bullfighting the entire period. It's a disgusting practice, if you ask me. -_-
John got glittered again. The poor boy. This time it's pink. There was also a seriously hilarious conversation between several people that I wish I had a transcript of. It was SO funny and random. XD
"Where would you be if you were a key?"
"Are you hungry?"
"Yes! No! WAIT!"
"The cereal box! The cereal box!"
"Cereal? What?"
"You said you were hungry."
"The key's in the cereal box?"
"But the paint thinner had its lid on, and that's why I couldn't get the pink away!"
John: "Glitter? What glitter?"
"But we have to choose between the two books..."
"You have to OPEN the cereal box before you can get the key!"
"Oh? So it's like a prize?"
"It glitches every ten seconds. And no, it's not just my computer."
"Not as a class, individually!"
"You should pick Ender's Game."
"Did you download it?"
"I didn't know I had to take the lid off! It took me forty hours!"
"The glitter surely doesn't exist."
Only 10 times more random and funny and longer. It was completely unintentional, too. People just kept bringing up different things that had nothing to do with the topic at hand. XD
Well, I'd better be going. I have chickens to feed, and it's a beautiful day (albeit muddy).
If you don't hear from me (particularly in your journals), it's because of the cursed dial-up and how busy I've been lately. I have a story to write (I've decided to write through a dog's perspective, so it'll be hard to tell if it's historical fiction or not XD), math homework to do, fabric stores to call in search of a seamstress (though I think they'll all be closed by now and I should do it tomorrow), studying to do, pets to take care of, a shower to take, etc. Ja ne!

Date: 2005-02-23 02:41 am (UTC)You have to tell your dad that I went to Costco. Sure, I wasn't able to actually go in a look at stuff, but I still went. ^^;
Yay for storms...we haven't had one around here in quite some time. That one sounds so awesome, I wish I was there!
You'll have to explain half-spoon girl. ^^;
Well, I missed you! *hugs* I still have to call you, but I didn't know for sure if you were at your mom's or your dad's.

Date: 2005-02-23 03:03 pm (UTC)So you're up to Naruto 88? I watched episodes 61-64 yesterday. And gosh... Shikamaru is so fun. I love him! <3 Not to mention I loved the fight between Neji and Naruto. Sometimes I wish I was as determined and stubborn as Naruto is. XD;

Date: 2005-02-24 02:59 am (UTC)Isn't Shikamaru GREAT? I <3 him! His match with Temari was just so much fun to watch. The guy is so smart, but his motivation level is...pathetic. He's great. XD I love how he planned out his whole boring life. What a guy...
Neji vs. Naruto was a great, great match. And when he won...wow, that was a moment all right. I think I started hopping up and down at that point. XD I wasn't expecting to pity Neji so much, though--the poor guy has a sad past, too. ;_; Most of the characters do.

Date: 2005-02-24 02:44 am (UTC)My Dad is glad to hear that you went to Costco. XD I just told him as I'm typing this.
The storms are gone now, and it's back to being weirdly sunny and warm for February. Storms are awesome.
Half-spoon girl? Oh, she was a girl who came up to Rory and I and demanded a spoon. Then she said something minorly insulting (I forget what it was--it wasn't important), so Rory was like, "NO! Terrible people like you do not deserve a spoon!"
Then he took out scissors and proceeded to cut the spoon in half (vertically, not horizontally, so it looks skinny and weird), and then tried to hand it to her. She got all mad and threw it back at him.
Ever since then, every time she's come into the Student Store, we throw the half-spoon at her. XD;; It's hysterical. She always frowns at us and throws it back. Another time, Rory was (jokingly) singing a song he made up about how her friend looked like a cow (this was a perfectly normal, fairly thin girl, BTW), and she got totally pissed at him. It's endlessly amusing to watch them interact. XD
Oh, you're welcome to call! If you don't know where I am, you can always call both. XD We sure don't mind. You can usually tell where I am by the fact that if I mention my pets, I'm usually at Mom's, unless I talk about Zephyr, who lives at Dad's. Most of the animals are at Mom's, though.
