Okay, I'll stop singing Blue badly now. I'm not even listening to Blue, I just thought it sounded appropriate because I'm not officially on Christmas Break. *BOUNCE*

Yesterday (and today, too) was so much fun. After I made my LiveJournal entry yesterday, I went to the Winter Choir Concert at my school and had an excellent time. We left at about 5:45 PM (Gretchen told us to get there at about 6 PM because there would be a line), and, go figure--there was a line. We're not talking a small line, either. A big enough line that I was *sure* they wouldn't all fit in the Don Baggett theater. Turns out I was right. At least forty people ended up seatless and standing in the back of the theater.

LUCKILY, I have awesome friends. Rosalie got there really early and kept a spot right in the front of the line for Makayla and I, and right after we bought our tickets, we found Nicole. My Mom and Ryan came to the concert, too, but once we got there, I was pretty much exclusively with my friends. Anyway, Makayla and I found some seats that were in a good place, and went to watch the choir warming up in the choir room.

I have never seen so many people in the choir room at one time. *_* There was this seemingly endless stream of people in fancy clothes coming into the room, too, thus Nicole, Makayla, and I were kind of against the wall watching them practice.

Anyway, I'm going to skip the majority of the details, because I don't think it would make that interesting of a commentary. I'll just touch on a few things.

Before the concert started, KK was sarcastically joking to me that I would be converted to a Christian with all the religious songs they were singing. During the intermission, I decided randomly to cause her a moment of confusion. I walked up to her and went, "KK, you were right. I've been converted. I will never watch anime again, because it's the devil." She stared at me weirdly for a minute before she remembering us joking about it earlier. Then we had a good laugh at the expense of all those insanely religious fanatics who actually believe anime is evil. *Rolls eyes*

Cody's quartet performed "All I Want for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth" and did extremely well. It's funny how they kept screwing it up and were worried about it when they were rehearsing, but the moment they got on the stage it turned out excellent.

Mom and Ryan left after the quartet, so they missed a lot of the fun. The concert was so good partly because they really balanced the beautiful songs with the fun, bouncy songs. We were all completely hyper by the time it was over at around 9:30 PM.

Well, at that point I thought, 'Eh, I'd better go home... It's almost bed time and I still have homework...' Luckily I made a last-minute decision to come with Cody and Nicole and John and Rosie and another girl named Nicole and a whole bunch of our other choir friends to Lyon's (a local restaurant) for dinner. You have no idea how much fun you can have at a restaurant even when you're not eating. The fact that we were surrounded by friends and that there were six of us to one booth (Nicole, Nicole, and John on one side, Rosie, me, and Cody on the other) helped.

At one point, I jokingly suggested, "Y'know, we should create a new art form: Dramatic interpretations of dinner menus." John automatically took up the challenge and started reading the dessert menu emphatically. You have no idea how funny it was. After a while, we started to realize that it sounded less and less like a drama, and more and more like a really bad porn movie. A really bad porn movie. XD;; Rosie supplied sound effects and made it even worse. We laughed hysterically over this for at least an hour. Definitely one of our new in-jokes.

After that, we decided to get even more creative. John, Rosie, and the other Nicole started singing the dessert menu in a three-part harmony to the tune of The Twelve Days of Christmas. It was completely creepy how well the dessert menu fit into the tune. O_O Especially when, instead of "Five golden rings," the eerily fitting "Milk, chocolate milk!" came out. XD;; Another moment of great beauty.

I wish I had a tape recorder. ;_;

Anyway, Mom picked me up from Lyon's at about 11:30 PM, and I went straight to bed.

I woke up this morning and went to school as usual. I was a little more tired than I generally am (partially because Mom stole my alarm clock and woke me up herself, which doesn't have as much of a waking effect as the bleeping of the alarm), but otherwise okay and in a great mood.

First period, we ate donuts and read our children's stories to the class. Mine went over just fine. I think the class liked the wolf puppy illustations.

Second period, I talked my US History teacher into letting us watch Princess Mononoke in class (I had 12 anime DVDs in my backpack). XD I think it shocked the class... They weren't exactly expecting decapitations and flying arms and girls sucking bullets out of wolf's wounds, I suppose. But c'mon! It's not that violent... I've seen much, much worse anime violence. Anyway, *I* had fun watching it, and I think the people who weren't weirded out liked it...

In Mr. Larsen's class, we moved to the Science Lecture Hall for the first time because our classroom is being remodeled. We ate pie and other sugar and watched videos of people singing the Periodic Table (O_o;;) and another movie that was basically a guy throwing sodium into a lake and watching it create huge explosions. And we sang Anatomy Christmas carols that Mr. Larsen wrote the lyrics of. Honestly, they're funny and rhyme and fit the tunes almost perfectly. I should type some of them up sometime.

My TA period, we ate food from Grinder's. I had a vegetarian wrap with no tomatoes or avocado. It was tasty.

Lunch...was a bunch of buzzing activity and that's about it.

In Math, I realized in the middle of the period that I had forgotten the present for Secret Santa in Anatomy, so I had to run all the way up to S-wing (QUITE a run from G-wing) to get it. ^^;;

And in English, we had the gift exchange! Randi seemed to like her gift, so that made me happy. And I got an Inuyasha calendar! YAY! Even though I don't take Inuyasha all that seriously (*cough*), I do love the characters (with the exception of Kagome, who is boring and stereotypical if you ask me), so I was unbelievably excited about this. It just so happened that Melissa got my name, which is funny because Melissa is my friend, but we're always arguing about how anime can be emotionally affecting. (She needs to actually see some anime before she can properly have any sort of debate about it, though.) Anyway, she was glad I liked it, and I was glad I got it. It worked out for both of us. ^_^

After that, there was a rally. Well, rallies are boring so we (meaning me and 20-30 of my friends) went to watch anime in Mr. Davis' room instead. We watched RahXephon episodes 3-4 and generally had a great time.

Went home, etc, and now here I am.

Guess what? This is completely exciting. Nicole and I are getting Cody a very special gift tomorrow... A real live kitten! Maybe even two! At 10 AM tomorrow morning, we're going with Shiela to go pick out a kitty. =^:^= Nicole and I are so excited about this, you'd think we're the ones getting the kitty... I think it'll be the greatest gift ever...don't you?

Anyway, now I'm downloading entirely random mp3s from the site Hitchi gave me, except I keep forgetting what series they're from and getting all confused. @.@ *Cries* I can't remember what that is!

...And I still need mp3s of Maaya Sakamoto's songs "Birds" and "Inori". If anybody happens to come across them, I'd love you forever. (Not that I don't already...but I'd love you even more forever.)

Gomen for any typos... I've been typing this pretty fast and while downloading/trying to figure out mp3s.

Did the choir sing the song that makes fun of the 12 Days of Christmas? When our choir did, it was hilarious.

Mononoke Hime is good. No, it's not all that violent at all. It's a very nice balance, actually.

A kitten! When I was getting a kitten with my friend (the one named Toboe), I was still so excited, I couldn't believe what was actually happening, you'd think I was getting married or something. XD Eh, so good luck with that! Sheila (Rae) is one of my nicknames...I remember Shiela from one of your old entries...

SANAE KOBAYASHI! <3 Sorry...Inori made me think of Eien no Inori wo Sasagete. XD Maaya Sakamoto has an album called "Shounen Alice." What is up with this? O.o

I noticed no typos. :O

No, they didn't sing the song that made fun of the Twelve Days of Christmas. Just the dessert menu to the tune of it. X3 They did sing a hilarious version of Jingle Bells, though, that's mainly concerned with the pains of Christmas shopping and the such. Very amusing.

Mononoke Hime is very good. :3 It was one of the first non-Pokémon anime I saw, and I loved it right off the bat.

Cody's gonna love his kitten. I can't wait to see the look on his face when we give it to him! And we'll get to play with the kitten, too, because we go to his house all the time.

As far as I understand it, the CD's called Shounen Alice because she wanted to twist expectations with the title. Kind of funny, né? Of course, Yoko Kanno writes her music, so I'm willing to be Kanno-sama somehow influenced this. Kanno-sama is quite fun and silly, from what I've heard (she spent a good chunk of a live radio broadcast of Maaya Sakamoto's music changing the subject to cookies) but very devoted and a perfectionist.
