I need some inspiration here...
Nov. 8th, 2004 05:18 pmI have a three page story I have to write for Creative Writing, and it's due Wednesday. I have no ideas. The only parameters are that it must involve dialogue. Hmmm... I've got to wrack my brain here. Maybe I'll go take a walk. That always manages to get the creative juices flowing.
Anyway, today was all right. In US History, we're doing a report on some artists during the cowboy days, and I already got half the report done in not-even-a-full-school-period, so that's a good accomplishment. Then I forgot my report in the computer lab and had to sneak back to the library during my TA period, but... Let's just forget that happened. ^^;;
Also during my TA period, I got to dig through the Lost-and-Found. It's creepy digging through the Lost-and-Found. You even have to wear rubber gloves. I'm always hoping I'll find some money in someone's pocket (I'll get to keep it if I do, so long as there's no Student ID with whatever you find it in), but alas there has been no success in that department as of yet. Darn. In the beginning of the year, I found a big old serrated hunting knife in a backpack in the Lost-and-Found, so that was pretty scary. O_O
I spent lunch putting food (in wrappers, so you know) on Marina's shoulder and trying to convince her to eat it because Cody was in choir practice during lunch and therefore he couldn't eat my food like he normally does. Nicole brought me over to the stairs by the library to eat lunch in a different spot than we normally do. Then, I was talking to B and Rachel and KC about shounen-ai and weird AMVs and repeatedly telling people that they have to come over on Thursday (we have no school on Thursday, but we do have school on Friday. WTF?) to watch anime with me. I'm determined to have Erin watch Wolf's Rain. The poor girl has had to put up with me blabbering about Wolf's Rain pretty much nonstop for the past two years that I've known her--it's about time she sees what the fuss is all about. And B has to see the *rest* of Wolf's Rain, because she's only seen the first ten episodes.
English was particularly amusing today because of the fish discussion. XP We were discussing the book Indian Creek Chronicles, in which the main character goes out into the wilderness for six months to watch over salmon eggs and make sure they survive. Anyway, Liberty, one of the girls in my class, was talking for quite a while about those salmon eggs and why Pete had to protect them , and then she suddenly paused for a very long time. Finally, she said ponderously, "Wait, or were they tuna fish?" The entire class, including her, went into hysterics.
Then, Chris Selbie made it even worse by going, "No, Liberty, they were actually hippo eggs." XD It was a priceless moment, but you had to be there to understand how funny it was.
Mom picked me up late from school, so Kirstin and I had a discussion about how Howl (from Howl's Moving Castle) manages to be a bishounen even in the book, and how we were eagerly awaiting Miyazaki's rendition of him. Then John piped in, and the three of us discussed live action movie adaptations of books and anime for quite a while. Kirstin was extremely disturbed when I told her that there was a live action version of Sailor Moon, and then John and I played with the idea of how scary and disturbing a live action Dragon Ball Z would be (although, I do believe they are making one O.o;;;)...especially if the live action version of Dragon Ball Z were to be a musical. XD Then I went and played with a spring I found in one of my pens and watched the play rehearsals because Nicole and Cody are both in the play.
Once Mom picked me up, we went to the Recycling Center. Very exciting, those Recycling Centers. However, the days since a worker injury just happened to be "528" (my favorite number that seriously pops up everywhere I go, for those who don't know), so I thought that was funny. In the car, I avidly described the entire plot of Samurai X: Trust, Betrayal, and Reflection to my Mom, pretty much scene by scene. XP At least now she understands why it's so violent.
I was going to eat some udon at her house, but then Dad picked me up, and here I am... I cleaned the bird cage, and now I have to figure out some sort of story to write. Hmmm... Now I'm going to go out on the balcony to try to get some ideas.

Date: 2004-11-08 05:58 pm (UTC)There actually is a live-action DBZ movie, it's Chinese made. And makes the eyes bleed, from what I hear. I have no desire to see it, though, since I hate DBZ with a burning, flaming passion.
Yay wolfies! n____nx; Some of my friends need to see the rest of the show, I have to pounce on them and drag them off. ¬_¬x;;
Yay, Kenshin OAVs. Well, not Seisouhen. Because Seisouhen makes the brain bleed in odd ways. And Saitou brings up the inability to swim all the time. *flails* Damn you, Saitou, I will have my revenge!!! *wanders off, still threatening roommate*

Date: 2004-11-08 06:25 pm (UTC)Same sentiments with DBZ. I have no desire to ever see *any* of it, be it animated or otherwise. 'Tis icky and...icky...and icky and no fun. But it is funny when you think about Dragon Ball Z: The Musical. I haven't the faintest how that would work.
Everyone must see Wolf's Rain! EVERYONE! ...Okay. Not everyone. Not scary n00bs who will write bad fanfiction about it. Just everyone I know. And they will CRY! ...'Cause everyone has to cry at the end. ;_; It's sad and beautiful and perfect and life-affecting.
I know, I'm a bad person for calling it Samurai X. ^^;; I always forget the Japanese titles. XP With all the other Japanese things in my brain (500+ entire Japanese songs, anyone?) you'd think I could remember a few titles, but... I'm just not a huge Rurouni Kenshin person (wayyy too many obsessions to acquire any more), so I've pretty much fixated myself on nothing but the OAVs. And even then, I keep it to a reasonable level. Hey! I liked Seisouhen! ...But then again, it might be because I skipped all of Rurouni Kenshin itself, and therefore I'm not affected by any OOC-ness and other such things. n_n

Date: 2004-11-08 06:39 pm (UTC)You should read the manga! The manga is good and Watsuki's art is sooooo gooooood. ¬_¬x; And there is nothing greater than slightly-angsty-confused Kenshin chasing after Tomoe, missing the top step and swandiving down a flight of stairs.
*is quite a dork* I love Kenshin lots, can we tell? XD
Kenshin love!
Date: 2004-11-08 07:09 pm (UTC)I just refuse to get myself into any more long series. I definitely don't have the money/time/obsession energy for that. Especially with the whole CD theft thing. And the fact that I have to buy the rest of the English releases of Last Exile, Witch Hunter Robin, FLCL, and gobs of other stuff that I can't even remember. I have an entire notebook full of lists of anime stuff I have to buy. It's pathetic. I have no income, either. I rely on money I get from relatives on holidays. It's that bad. ._.;;
Realize that once I like a series... I really, really like a series. Obsessively. As in, I must own all the merchandise and practically memorize the show and write fanfiction and do fanart and daydream about it, etc.
I already have about ten shows that I do this with, to slightly varying degrees.
However, Nicole has the first season of Rurouni Kenshin, so I'll be seeing that. ^_^ And I'm looking forward to it. I'm just scared to get obsessed. ^^;;
Re: Kenshin love!
Date: 2004-11-08 07:35 pm (UTC)I used to be that way about merchandise, but not so much anymore. I seriously have enough Kenshin posters to wallpaper a room.
DVDs, however... *points to her Guzzlefish account*

Date: 2004-11-08 08:11 pm (UTC)...
Wait, no, I lied. Nevermind. ^^;;
I have a Kenshin wallscroll. ^^; 'Tis cool. It's right in between my Cowboy Bebop wallscroll and framed Wolf's Rain poster, and right above one of my Pokémon posters. I have enough Pokémon posters to wallpaper 6-7 full rooms. No exaggeration there. One room is already wallpapered with nothing but Pokémon, and the other room is more of a mix between several of my favorite anime. I need to go on another framing spree, though, because I've got some great Wolf's Rain posters (and some Gravitation, Millennium Actress, Last Exile, Witch Hunter Robin, etc., too) that I'm dying to frame. I have no idea how all of this is going to fit on my wall, nor how I'm going to fund such an extravagent framing project. *Dies*
I'm a DVD and soundtrack junkie worst of all. And, seeing as I simply won't settle for bootlegs, it gets really, really expensive. I'm bad about plushies, wallscrolls, and posters, too, along with essentially anything from any of my favorite series. It's horrible economically, but...well, I have nothing better to buy anyway! ^^;;
Re: Kenshin love!
Date: 2004-11-08 08:19 pm (UTC)I wish I had the money to buy that many DVDs. ^^;; I should get a job. Should is the keyword in that sentence.
