Poor Honey, I came home today and she was shivering and shivering, and panting, drooling, drinking, all with a bloated belly. I got her to the vet ASAP, and it turns out she had a distended stomach, likely from overeating and drinking. The vet X-rayed her to be sure there were no blockages or twists, but all was clear--just a super distended stomach and full intestines. He injected her with Cerenia. A number of hours later and some pooping (and no food), she seems to be over it. Poor girl, she was obviously in a lot of pain and discomfort. I've overeaten before a few times so I know the feeling, it's terrible! I think Mom gave her too many treats.
I'm so relieved she's all right. I love that dog more than words can say.
I didn't take an afternoon nap today as a result so now I feel a little bleh. I'm getting up early tomorrow to help with poultry health checks at work, so I probably shouldn't be up late drawing like last night.
