pacificpikachuI'm so happy, the white-fronted goose got a good prognosis! She went to the vet yesterday. She seems to have a fractured clavicle that inflated one of her air sacs, and she should heal on her own given a few weeks. I set up a bigger enclosure for her in back with some water to go in if she chooses. I'm relieved, seeing as all of the waterfowl I've had in recent months have either died or been unreleasable.
And one of my black east indies duck eggs is hatching! *A* It has a pip and a second attempt at a pip so far. These little breeds of ducks sometimes have trouble zipping out of the egg, so if it's not hatched by tonight, I think I may just break in and hatch it myself. I don't want it to die in the egg just because it has a teeny bill that has trouble breaking eggshells.
On a sad note, one of my three Easter serama chicks drowned in a bowl of water. ;____; I had a big bowl of water in the enclosure for the mother, and it has steep sides so I didn't think the tiny chick would get up there, but mom rearranged the shavings while I was gone and the chick fell in and drowned. ;_____; I hate these sorts of deaths, they feel so pointless and it's one of those "If only I had..." sort of scenarios. :( Anyway, I can't do anything about it, and the other two are doing great.
Tippy may be going to a home in Sebastapol! A man came up to meet her on Tuesday, and it went well. He is very nice, and I think she would do well in the home if he decides to adopt her. There are two kids in the home and people are at home almost all the time, and they have a large fenced yard. Unfortunately they don't have another dog, but there are neighborhood dogs and relative's dogs to play with so it'll be fine. We will get to have her back for two weeks in June while he's gone if he takes her, too--we offered to petsit her.
Life is going pretty good in general, though. The weather is beautiful, work is going well, I'm almost up to 400 Pokémon obtained in my Dex and I haven't even transferred anything from other games yet, I got to visit my friend Ray's seramas and it was fun, and so on.
Now if only my laptop was working and I had a working camera (I need to do a sales post like CRAZY), things would be TRULY great!
