Sorry to be pimping this again, my wildlife rehab group didn't win the first month so now we're back to trying again! This time we're doing a little better, in the low 40s and almost into the 30s, but we'll require a lot more votes to win! We need to be in the top ten to get a grant. Any help is much-appreciated, whether it's sending a vote, pimping it out, or whatever else. :D (For people new to my f-list, this is the wildlife rehabilitation group I am a part of, and we are vying for a $25,000 grant from Pepsi. The grant winners are determined by voting!)
The Corgi Faire was a lot of fun as always! Fluffy butts everywhere, eee! So cute and funny. I bought some cheap but adorable corgi stuff, Honey and Hooch participated in the costume contest, and we generally had a grand time. I took pictures, I just need to upload them. It's so fun and hilarious seeing a few hundred corgis all in one place, hahaha. Corgis, everywhere you turn! Again, Hooch and Honey were possibly the smallest adult corgis there. Several people mistook them for puppies. It's amazing that they're both so small and their sizes match almost exactly, especially because they both came from completely different places
My plan with NaNo is to get up to around 48k on the 20th, and then finish with my 50k at the Night of Writing Dangerously. :D That way I will feel like an awesome person and get to celebrate my victory at the party! I'm hoping to be able to finish the story as well within the the 50k, but we'll see how it goes. So far, so good, though.
This week is so busy! Tomorrow I have off and I'm going to prepare for my new job and clean my car out (it quite desperately needs it), then I start my job Tuesday. I'm petsitting for Bev Friday and Saturday, then going to the Night of Writing Dangerously on Sunday. Of course this is all on top of NaNoWriMo, caring for my animals, and so on. I was thinking of going to a chicken show in Reno on Saturday, but that's not happening, haha. Oh well, probably for the best! That's a long way to drive for a chicken show that may or may not be worth the drive.
Today is now the anniversary of Lily's death. :( It's been four years... It both feels longer and shorter than that. Rest in peace, Lily, you are always and forever in my heart. That dog was like my sibling, it still hurts to think of her death and I will probably try not to dwell on it for that reason. That was literally the hardest thing I've ever been through, although of course losing Tia, Princess, Lea, Cleo, and really any of my animals I've loved and lost is always very difficult, too. For a number of reasons, Lily's was the hardest, though. I hate that animals have to have such short lifespans, it's not fair. (Goddammit, I have a Pokémon BGM playlist on in the background and just as I was typing this Namida Nochi Hare starting playing. Now I have tears in my eyes.)
Anyway, happier subject time! I am looking forward to December because I love the holidays in a completely secular way, and I will have more time for fandom things and drawing and maybe actually watching more anime if I get to it. I need to go finish my wordcount for the night because I want to go play Pokémon for an hour or two before bed!
