Apr. 20th, 2010 01:23 amI was feeling kind of crummy and unhappy and was about to go to sleep, when I heard a distinct "Peep peep!" coming from the incubator.
The bantam sumatra egg has pipped. :D (Pipping is when the chick pokes the first hole in the egg.) It sometimes takes up to twenty-four hours to fully hatch after pipping, but there's a decent possibility there will be a chick or more by the time I wake up in the morning.
EEE!
Okay, I still have to go to bed (though now it will be much more difficult), but point remains. :D
Other happy thing of the day: One of my new OEGB chicks I got a week or two ago is definitely porcelain colored. That's a big EEE, too, as porcelain OEGB are fairly rare to come across, and were the highest or second highest on the list of OEGB colors I want. Yayyy! The other OEGB chick is quite pretty, too! I need to post pictures of them. Poppy has gotten so big and is gorgeous now as well. *____* Also, my serama cockerel has some iridescence coming in on his tail feathers! Okay, I need to take lots of chicken pictures.
Chickens aside, today was...not miserable, but not the best either. :( Period ickiness, blisters on my feet, feeling bad that I upset Ritzy... Bleh. Oh well. Chicks make things better.
