More college stuff.
Jan. 19th, 2010 11:32 pmThank you for all the thoughtful comments to last entry, everyone! ;___; It really helped me put things back in perspective. You're right, they're not that big of a deal, I'll get through them, and things will be all right. ♥
I talked to one of the school counselors this morning and that helped a ton, too. Turns out I do have a few classes other than the six ugly ones to take before transfer, so I'm trying to get those done this semester while I figure out the rest of my plan. One is a semester of language (trying to get into Japanese! Ughhh, hopefully I'll be able to get an add on Thursday, today didn't work out as far as adding goes) and one semester of art theory. UCs, I do not understand why you require I take a useless art history/appreciation class when I've already taken drawing and several art and design classes, but whatever.
Planning on taking Japanese (if I can get in!), Social Psychology for the hell of it (already in), Medieval/19th Century Art (this sounds super-boring, but whatever, fulfills that art history/theory requirement and it's not early in the morning), and the second semester of drawing. Allegedly the professor to tomorrow's two art classes is awesome, so hopefully I'll have a good time in those. In the meantime, I'm going to start planning out my ideas for getting my classes done before transferring to Davis.
I found that I can probably take Calculus at American River College, because Sierra has no plans to have the stupid Calculus class I need any later than 7 AM. 5 AM WAKE-UP = HELL NO, NOT HAPPENING. Also, it appears I can also take Brief O-Chem at ARC or UCD in one semester instead of putting in two semesters of O-Chem. YES. The less O-Chem, the better, though I think I'll probably like it a lot more than General Chemistry. Still, I would rather not do twice as much time in O-Chem than I need to.
So, that whittles it down to five classes. I've decided I'm officially transferring to Davis in Fall '11, so that gives me a fair amount of time to finish those, and also some time to get myself out of the motivation slump again. But it also forces me to have a deadline, so I'm not just sitting around doing nothing indefinitely. Plans are good, I'm feeling much better about things now.
Also, on another note, Makayla can no longer join me in Japan (though she's going to come to AX!), so I'm thinking of doing a summer or fall Japan trip to give myself more time to save up. I'm sure I would like Japan's weather in March much better than summer or fall, but March is coming up awfully fast and I don't know if it'll give me enough time to save up and prepare. Hmmm, I'll figure it out! I know some
pkmncollectors members are going to Japan in the summer, so maybe I could go at the same time and we could all meet up. I only barely missed
callyfin and
happyjolteon last year. ;; Anyway, Japan's pretty vague right now, but I am determined to go again in the somewhat near future! And hell, maybe March will end up working, you never know with me. I'll put some thought into it and try to decide when I want to go~
