Jul. 24th, 2008 11:02 pm5 Centimeters Per Second was out of stock at the store I ordered it at as well. :< Oh well. I guess I just have to hope they rerelease it or I find it somewhere.
I went on a massive shipping trip to the post office today, which made everything much more relaxed for me.
However, there are a few obstacles to me just relaxing and having a good time still. The biggest one is that there's something wrong with the jays. One jay had a small wound on the top roof of his mouth I noticed a few days ago, so I decided to just watch it and see what happened. Well, it's gotten quite a bit bigger and seems to be causing the top part of his beak to be a little deformed. And not only that, but it's spread to the scrub jay as well, who has only the smallest wound right now (but I know it'll get bigger).
So, they're going to have to go to the vet and I'll have to take precautions not to spread it to my small parrots and guinea fowl. I hope it's not something I can catch as well, though I doubt it would be. I have no way to get the birds to the vet, however, because my parents are working and I can't drive. In addition to this, Tracey doesn't know if she can take them while I'm gone because of this mystery illness, so I might have to find another person to take them in...on two day notice. :/
Janey is going to take the guinea fowl while I'm gone, which is very sweet of her. We're going to drive them over there on Sunday before we leave.
I'll get the whole jay issue sorted out... It's just some unwanted stress and worry. At least they seem to be healthy otherwise. Still, I hope they're able to go the vet ASAP and someone is willing to take them on while I'm gone. And here they were almost ready for the flight cage!
