Dec. 22nd, 2007 11:31 pmI apologize if I don't reply to comments very quickly lately--it seems like my life has been grouped into three categories lately:
1. Sleep. Lots of sleep.
2. Friend-related stuff! Having anime marathon parties, hanging out, talking to people on the phone.
3. Being in terrible pain and/or sick.
I'm in number three right now. We went to my Grandma's in Davis, and for some reason I started feeling that awful abdominal pain (though it was thankfully not as bad as usual), and since then I've been feeling like I'm going to throw up and having varying degrees of stomach pain. We went by the ER, but basically I just felt like throwing up and we concluded it wasn't worth it for just that.
Actually, the computer has distracted me from my queasiness, I think, because I feel better all the sudden. I hope it doesn't come back any time soon.
Anyway, the Dennou Coil marathon went pretty darn well. Sue brought her anime-loving friend from South Africa, and it was interesting talking to him. We watched a bunch of AMVs while we were waiting for everyone else to arrive so we could start Dennou Coil, and one of the AMVs was PaasHaas' "A Brand New Monster." Funny enough, it turns out Kyle (I'm about 90% sure that's his name--I'm so bad with names) is good friends with PaasHaas, who is also from South Africa. Small world, huh?
Sue and Kyle had to leave at around episode 16, but Nicole, Aubrey, Nolan, Makayla, and I all watched the whole series. We finished it at about 3:30 AM, and everyone took off then after we discussed how awesome it is for a while. Yay, people who will actually know what I'm talking about IRL when I babble about Dennou Coil!
Um. The day after that (which was...yesterday, I think?), I spent nearly the entire day talking on the phone to Zoe. We talked about recent anime, the strangeness of OEL manga, and then the conversation somehow spiraled into our fascination with urban legends and how they relate to childhood, which then turned into a discussion about the nature of life and the universe and whether evil actually exists or not. It was great fun. XD
Last night I went to Cornish Christmas in Grass Valley. It would have been incredibly boring if I hadn't found Shannon, as she and I spent the whole time wandering aimlessly, eating, and talking about various things. It was chilly out, though, and other people were hogging the chestnut-roasting fire. I bought some fake eggs to put in the chicken coop so the chickens will lay their eggs in a place where I can actually reach them.
I read Peter S. Beagle's A Fine and Private Place for a while when I got home, and then went to bed. However, I was up again at 3 AM-ish because I had this persistent gook in my throat that was driving me insane. In fact, it drove me so insane that I couldn't go back to bed until 6 AM, when I finally took sleeping medicines and slept until 2 PM. XD Then, uh, we left for my grandma's and this whole entry becomes circular in nature.
Now I'm just catching up on my friends list and trying to reply to any comments I may have neglected.
Blah, I hope I feel all the way better soon. :( I have to post the contest at
shinypoke still, and I need to fill out my bird intake forms so I can get them in before the end of the year.
