More bird stuff...

pacificpikachuThe baby quail I got last night died. I'm not sure what happened to it... It was fine all throughout the night (albeit peeping every now and then), fine when I woke up in the morning, and then I left for about five minutes to feed the crow, I came back and found it dead. Poor little thing. I wish I knew why it went downhill so suddenly.
Later in the day, I got an adult quail who had been completely thrashed by a cat. :( He had puncture wounds in his neck, bit marks all over him, lots of bruising, and he was missing a whole huge chunk of feathers. He died within hours.
On a happier note, the baby crow is doing well! It's still ridiculously skinny and it didn't eat too much today, but it is doing all right.
I have discovered a new game that is brilliant. The stellar's jays beg and squall excessively when I go into their room so I can feed the scrub jay every hour, and sometimes what I'll do is grab a piece of kibble and try to drop or throw it into their wide-open mouths from the top of the cage. XD This is far too entertaining. It's like...bird mouth and kibble basketball.
Tomorrow I get to go to San Francisco! We're picking up Zoe there, and she gets to stay with us before/doing Anime Expo. It's going to be epic fun. We'll probably watch anime until we die of exhaustion. Don't expect a lot of entries. XD
