Mar. 25th, 2007 07:57 pmThe stupid is strong within me. I completely forgot my computer's power cord at Mom's, therefore I'm shutting my computer down after this entry. Excellent.
I was awakened this morning at 10AM, which felt early because I had gone to sleep at 3AM by Ryan walking into my room and announcing that someone called me about a goose at the park.
I was kind of peeved at first, because Ryan somehow misconstrued the situation to where it was "There's a domestic goose at the park and this lady is afraid it's going to attack her kids."
I was like "Screw that. I'm going back to sleep. It's not my job to defend people from geese of all things."
When I woke up, however, it turned out that that was not the situation at all. Rather, there is a Canada goose nesting about twelve feet up a tree in the park, and the lady calling was concerned that other people (namely, rowdy teenagers) may disturb her nesting.
So I walked over to the park to check out the situation. The lovely mother goose was not too happy with my presence, but I did videotape her a little. I spent a while wandering around the park, videotaping yellow-billed magpies (which may be put on the threatened or endangered list soon) and looking for park officials or someone to talk to about it, but it was no good. There is a number for the park management, but no one is there during the weekends. :/ So I'll call about getting her protected or something tomorrow. Maybe they could put up a little temporary fence or something while she hatches her eggs... A lot of people hate Canada geese, but I like them and think they deserve to be respected regardless of whether people like them or not.
Other than that, today has been uneventful. The chicks are doing well--even the little runty one, who I'm still worried about.
It's my Dad's birthday! :D
Um, that's all.
