pacificpikachu: (OMFG HARAKEN)
Saturday's wildlife rehab fundraiser yard sale went so very well! We made well over $1000 last I heard, which will pay for a lot of food and medication and vet visits. :D There was quite a bit of stuff left over at the end, so those of us who were volunteering were allowed to just take whatever we wanted for free. I got so much stuff!

Tecumseh the red-tailed hawk, Chester the great-horned owl, and Oliver the western screech owl were there for part of the yard sale, but they went home after a while because the weather was making them nervous. (Impending storm.) It actually rained for about ten or fifteen minutes, so we had to move some of the items inside the warehouse, but after that it stopped.

I had wanted to take pictures of Gaia, our Peregrine Falcon, but when I asked about her, it turns out that she passed away about a week ago. ;; Very sad. She caught aspergillosis, which is almost always deadly and is spread just through the wind so there's essentially no way to prevent it. We lost a red-tailed hawk, Shikoba, to the same thing earlier in the year. Rest in peace, Gaia. She was such a beautiful bird.

Yesterday was Woofstock! It turns out Victoria Stilwell wasn't there after all, LOL, because I guess I somehow ended up on a website of a different Woofstock that has her attending and mistook it for ours. I'm not sure how I made that mistake, but oh well! XD Anyway, regardless it was so much fun! There were tons of great events and so many wonderful dogs! We watched frisbee dogs, went in this area that was fenced off to be a mini dog park, got food, went shopping at the different booths, and spent a lot of time just walking around talking to different dog owners and whatnot. It was a surprisingly big event! Lots of fun, and I wish it had gone on longer than 1 PM. I got Honey a cute harness and handkerchief, and got an "I ♥ My Pembroke Welsh Corgi" magnetic ribbon for my car. The three dogs were very good and seemed to enjoy themselves.

After that, we went to a few horse supply/feed stores I resisted the temptation of buying chicks, but just barely, and then went to the Auburn dog park to check it out and let the dogs have some fun. The Auburn dog park is really nice--green and large, and it has a waterfall for the dogs to play in and everything! I definitely intend to take them back there sometime soon. As usual, Hooch and Hana played fetch until their tongues were hanging out of their mouths, and Honey just wandered around.

It rained last night! Ahhh, it's nice to smell the rain again~

I had such a weird Dennou Coil/real life dream last night! I wish I could remember it better. It involved a weird Illegal that would change into either Hooch or Honey depending on which one it was closer to, and I was living in this weird old house and somehow the government found out about the Illegal and came to get me in trouble for having it even though I didn't voluntarily have it in the first place. In fact, it creeped me out. Then there was this whole bit about a fancy building with all these floors and escalators and fountains on each floor, but I don't remember what I was doing there--just remember going up escalators and seeing other people going up them, too.

There was something about being in Japan with [livejournal.com profile] heerosferret and some sort of marketplace, and GAINAX animators I've met being involved somehow (...?), and then the dream actually involved the Dennou Coil characters after the end of the series. They were in a line for something, and Yasako, Isako, Fumie, and Haraken were there, but now I can't remember what they were talking about exactly. Darn, it was interesting, too! They were on the case of the Illegal, which was getting progressively more and more creepy, and it made Isako upset for some reason, and there was this whole fascinating complicated storyline. I remember putting metatags on the Illegal because I was trying to change it into a real pet, but then the silhouette kept going black and saying 'No Data' so it wasn't working. There was also something about being on top of a building in Japan, and...IDK, I think that's all I can remember.
