OMFG YOU GUUUUYYYSSSS

Ryan and I went down to the Yuba City shelter to look at an Australian Shepherd and a Toy Jack Russell Terrier. There was no information about either dog other than a crummy picture, but I just felt like going there for some reason. Went there, discovered both had been taken by rescue groups or adopted, BUT...

First cage when I walked in. Young female obviously purebred Pembroke Welsh Corgi. MY DREAM DOG. Very sweet, giving us kisses through the bars and wanting to be petted. Shivering because she was scared in the kennel. Downright gorgeous adorable wonderful dog. She can't be adopted to anyone or even taken out of the kennel until Friday because they have to hold the dogs for five days when they get them in to make sure they're not sick or their owner isn't coming back for them.

Now, I'm not going to be surprised if someone turns up and claims her today or tomorrow. She's definitely purebred and looked well-cared for, and basically this whole situation seems too good to be true so I'm not getting my hopes up. The adoption fee at this shelter is $10. $10. But she has been there for three and a half days already, so I can't help but hope that no one is coming for her, and that no one else is crazy enough to leave early and come when they open to adopt her as the shelter is first come-first serve.

Tomorrow before the shelter closes I'm calling to see if she's still there, and ask if we can actually pick her up on Friday (one of the people said something about Monday, IDK). If we can, I'm leaving at 6 AM on Friday (or Monday if that's when we can) and going to get her.

Like I said, I'm not getting my hopes up too high because it really does seem too good to be true and it'll surprise me if there isn't someone out there looking for her, but...

Think good thoughts for me! :D If this works out I think I'm going to cry with joy.
