Dec. 26th, 2008 11:54 pmI hope you all had a great Christmas! My Christmas was somewhat eventful, actually.
I went to bed on Christmas at 4:30 AM. This can be blamed on
pkmncollectors chat, which I never recommend going into if you're supposed to go to bed anytime soon at all. (Hence why our god is Hypnochat!) When I fell asleep, it was so windy I was afraid a tree might fall, and when I woke up... It was white outside! :D This is the first time in my memory that it's snowed on Christmas here! It usually only starts snowing in January or February.

So we got ready to go down to Petaluma despite the snow, were completely ready to go, got in dad's Jeep, and...it wouldn't start. He tried using the jumper cables for a good half-hour and managed to get it to where it would turn on, but the problem is that the reason its battery was dead was because some fan in the inner workings doesn't turn off at all, and thus drains the battery all the time. We almost didn't go, especially because it was projected to snow more and my car doesn't have four wheel drive, but I convinced dad to go anyway.
I drove halfway there and halfway back. It was kind of nerve-wracking at first because I had never driven out of our county, but I got used to it pretty quickly and it was smooth sailing from there. :D I was proud of my car for having no problems whatsoever. We listened to Ghost in the Shell: Standalone Complex OSTs the entire way there and almost entirely Yoko Kanno on the way back as well.
Hanging out at my aunt's was pretty uneventful. I talked to two of my (awesome) cousins about LULZY things like stupid Youtube videos and I don't even know what else, avoided my two younger cousins (the aunts and uncles were swarming around them anyway :P), ate dinner, opened some presents, and that was pretty much it. I kind of miss my grandma's house that we used to have Christmas at until she decided to move into a fancy apartment instead, because her house was much roomier and there was an amazing basement that my cousins and I could hide in, but oh well. We drove home after that and I spent more or less the entire night after that playing Spore, which my great-aunt got me. :D
There was an earthquake at 4 AM this morning! I was playing Spore still at that time and my room started shaking. It wasn't a big one at all, though (it didn't even knock over a single figure), and it was over pretty quickly.
Let's see, in total I got...
* Mostly money/gift cards
* Spore
* A nearly 3' long Pikachu plush
* I'm getting all new speakers and a fancy CD player in my car so I can blast my music in style :D
* A Pokémon puzzle
* Merck Veterinary manual
* Bird shirt
* LOL my brother gave me a turkey plush that his friend gave him for Christmas. XD He didn't give it to me in a very Christmas-y fashion, just walked in my room while I was on the computer and put it on my TV with my chicken items, but I suppose it counts!
* Obligatory long sleeve shirt that I will not wear (I'll probably donate it to charity so someone who appreciates it more can stay warm!)
Short gift list this year. Almost all my relatives gave me money and gift cards instead of actual gifts, which is just fine with me. 8D
I have the prettiest sunset pictures from Graylodge that I want to post, but there are so many that I'm having trouble narrowing it down, haha.
