Happy Thanksgiving, f-list! I appreciate the concept of Thanksgiving and of being thankful for things, but not so much how it is celebrated. Nonetheless, I hope you all have a good one and get to see the people you love. I'm certainly thankful for all of you. Thank you for being good friends to me for however long I have known you! ♥

We went down to Davis today (er, technically yesterday now) to have sort of a pre-Thanksgiving with some of my mom's side of the family, which was nice. :D My mom is working tomorrow and we're going down to San Francisco with dad to see my dad's side of the family, so it was good to see my grandma and aunt and cousins from my mom's side for a few hours, as well as meeting my cousin's boyfriend.

My mom and brother were being weird in the car on the way back about how strong my beliefs are on the relationship between animals and humanity, mostly, but also my views on humanity in general. :/ I was going to make a post about how frustrating it can be when your morals are considerably different than the rest of society's, but I think I'll pass on that right now. I know if I do I'll just go into a big spiel on humanity's treatment of animals and other people and then I'll never shut up and work myself in an angry, sad, and frustrated state (which won't accomplish anything). And I should be working on my novel anyway.

On a much more amusing note, I wrote this...special...sentence in my novel very late last night when I was exhausted and trying to get my 2000 words done:

"When he didn't respond after her few timorous calls of his name, she reached out, her slender fingers stretching out towards him like cannibalistic spiders might reach out toward a larger and scarier member of their species, and finally shook his shoulder."

WHAT? No, seriously... WHAAAAT? Where did that come from? Ahahaha. I think that makes my first true NaNo-ism this year, though of course I'm sure I'll discover more gems when I get to reread what I've written when December starts.

Well, this Thanksgiving has been...eh. We didn't end up going down to San Francisco because dad didn't really feel like it, and then we were going to go out to dinner but almost nothing is open and my brother didn't want to go out anyway. I think we're going out to dinner tomorrow night to make up for it, hopefully.

On an entirely random note, I could have sworn I only wrote two pieces of Naruto fanfiction that I actually finished. I was almost sure that was the case! [livejournal.com profile] ylmik_wisty brought up Mist, Madness, and a Crow being on a 'fic rec site, which I thought I remembered being the working title for another fanfic of mine (and then I was baffled as to how they got the working title that was changed before I finished the fanfic), but now I was googling myself out of boredom and I discovered... It was actually its own separate, finished one-shot.

How did I manage to entirely forget that I wrote it? O__o; This was not even two years ago, and it's not like I finish all that much and I generally remember everything I write and do rereads of them every now and then, so I'm seriously baffled. Hahaha. At least it's not a bad discovery! I'll reread it in a little bit, seeing as it's only a vague memory at this point. Perhaps I'll submit it to FanFiction.Net just for fun.

Hoping to have a 4K word night tonight! Let's see how it goes. I want to finish my 50K so I can move on to other writing--I have so much fanfiction and so many short stories I want to write! I would really like to finish last year's NaNo novel as well.

This likely won't matter to anyone on here, but I just have to write about my own little personal glee for the day. :D

There was a show I was really, really into when I was about twelve called Mysterious Ways. It started out on NBC for its first season, and then its second season was on PAX, and I just loved this series so much. I must admit, even when live action shows are great I'm a little more reserved toward them than I am anime generally, but for this series I actually got a little into the small fandom that existed for the series, participating occasionally on a message board and whatnot.

It was canceled after its second season, and I signed so many petitions and wrote so many long-winded e-mails to the different TV stations and whatnot in hopes that they might change their mind. Of course it remained canceled, but what made me even more mad was that there was no way to get to the episodes. They never released them on DVD or any other format, and although I have crummy VHS copies of about half of the series I taped off the TV, I did painstaking searches of the entire internet in hopes that someone had the episodes better quality and not spread all randomly across tapes where I have to fast forward through all kinds of crud to get to the episodes.

Nothing, nothing, nothing. One episode showed up on Veoh, but it was one of my least favorite episodes.

But now finally, there are torrents available for the whole series! Yayyy!

I haven't seen the series since I introduced it to Nicole in 2003 or something, so I don't know if I'll still love it as much as I used to (I have trouble believing I wouldn't, though, even if it is a little cheesy or not as amazing as I remember it being), but man... I love the characters so much I think Declan was my first slight crush on anyone outside the realm of animated characters and it's just one of those series you get really attached to, in my opinion. I'm really excited to see it again. ♥ Turns out there were quite a few other people on the hunt for it as well, which doesn't surprise me.

Anyway, that just made me happy. I hope the torrents download fairly fast and don't have any errors or anything. If the series is really as good as I remember it being, maybe I'll rec it to you guys. :D
