Last night I thought I would go to bed earlier than my usual 3-4 AM. But then, naturally, my plans were thwarted by the fact that I checked AnimeSuki before turning the computer off and realized that Macross Frontier episode twelve was out. So I downloaded the torrent, waited for it download, and watched it. At 3:30 AM. 8D I can't help it! I've been thoroughly sucked in.

Outside of fandom mattersAKA me getting too involved in Macross Frontier love triangles, I got another fledgling robin today--but unfortunately it may have to be put down. One of our new rehabbers, who lives an hour away, got the bird about five days ago and only noticed something wrong with its leg today. It's either a fracture in the joint or right near the joint--which doesn't bode well for the poor little robin, especially because bird fractures heal remarkably fast and the other rehabber had the bird for so long without noticing the problem. Its toes aren't working quite properly either, which indicates possible nerve damage--which can't be easily healed. Anyway, I'll be calling a few different vets tomorrow to explore the options and then make a decision. It's difficult making the decision to euthanize a young, bright-eyed bird who eats well, but sometimes it's the best option. I'm not sure we'll be able to get this bird to a point where it can even stand up. We'll see. I'm going to try other things if there are any options.
At least Ms. Grosbeak is doing well. She spends a lot of her time crashing around in her box and getting upset at me, which is a good sign as it means she's energetic. She bit me again today while I was trying to give her some antibiotics, but I managed to squirm away gently before she could get a good hold and make it hurt. The goal with her is simple: Make her eat until she is fat and sassy, and then she can be released.
I got a few calls today from people who want to donate some huge and very nice-sounding cages to me. Let's hope those work out! :D
Mom got bucked off of Rivi (River Nights, our horse) and hurt her shoulder today. Let's hope it heals quickly!
Hmmmm, I think that's about it for now. It's almost 4 AM, so time for bed.
It's amazing how fast Anime Expo is coming up!
