pacificpikachu: (Looking to the Sky)
Got in eight birds in total today. One fledgling swallow and seven pinkie/nestling sparrows. The swallow and three of the sparrows went to another rehabber, but I have the other four sparrows/ They're doing very well so far, so let's just hope for no mishaps. :)

I watched quite a bit of anime today between bird feedings--I caught up to the subs on Chi's Sweet Home, Kure-nai, Toshokan Sensou, and Macross Frontier. I'm quite fond of all four series, I must say. None of them are super-incredible, but they're all very enjoyable, fun to watch, and well-done. Another Macross Frontier episode just came out, so I'll watch that tomorrow. My goals are to start Kaiba and watch up to where the subs are, watch the rest of Kaiji, and watch the rest of what I have of Kare Kano. (Wow, lots of 'k' series.) I got the first two DVDs of Kare Kano really cheaply at Fanime, so I started watching it the other night. It's interesting so far--it's pretty psychological for a romance series. But, hey, it is Hideaki Anno, so I can't say I'm incredibly shocked or anything.

I also have to finish Princess Tutu with KK soon, and I really want to start Toward the Terra all the sudden. I don't know, sometimes these random urges to watch random anime just appear, I'll have to download it first, though, so it might be a little while.

So much anime to watch! I'm happy I actually have time to watch it lately.

I've been hanging out on the [livejournal.com profile] pkmncollectors AIM chat a fair amount lately. I mean, not a ton or anything, but an hour or so a day. It's fun, and I'm amazed at how good of anime tastes the fellow Pokémon collectors have. :O I mean, we're Pokémon fans--you'd expect us to have crummy taste in anime, but apparently not. We've discussed Dennou Coil, Naoki Urasawa, and a number of other awesome things.

Also, I did a new entry on Tegaki that I'm actually fairly happy with. It's a pretty boring picture, but it was so much fun to color!

A few Tegaki doodles. Only actually happy with one, but whatever. )

I need to start drawing humans more often. I've been drawing animals since I was little, so I'm a lot more comfortable with their muscle structure and the balance of their bodies, but I feel so left out not doing awesome fanart for things that aren't Pokémon or animal-related.

I'm really looking forward to going down to Japantown with Aubrey and Ellary on Sunday, assuming the plans all go smoothly. 8D I think I'm going to have to miss the Toys'R'Us Darkrai event as a result, but... I already have Japanese movie Darkrai and slightly-non-legit-in-game-Darkrai, so it's not like I'm missing out on too much. Still, it would've been fun.

Awww, this icon makes me happy and nostalgic. *__*
