May. 19th, 2008 09:32 pmPutting the turkey down was sadder than I expected. I mean, it wasn't absolutely awful or anything, but I heard it peeping from the other room when they injected it, and I felt kind of like I had to hold back tears for a while afterwards. :( This is unusual for me, as (while I get extremely upset when my pets die), I'm pretty hardened to death by now and I normally don't react all that much emotionally when rehab birds die. I know I made the right decision, though, and really I think that's all that matters. There wasn't really another option, other than watch it suffer and die slowly on its own, which would have been much worse.
Thankfully, the other three are doing great, and I'm reasonably sure they'll be releasable. :) I'm having so much fun dealing with them--I almost wish I could take them to Fanime with me, hahaha! They're just so adorable. I'm definitely getting them back and keeping them with me as long as I can house them (THEY'LL BE BIG) when I come back from Fanime. Tracey is going to be watching them and the jays while I'm gone, and I know she'll do a great job. :)
Made so very much progress on Densuke today. :D The body is entirely done, the gloves are 90% done, the head is...hmmm...50% done, at least, and then I just have to do the feet. Those will be easy. Furring the head is the main concern right now, but it won't be hard exactly--just messy.
( Densuke head in progress! )
Working on Boota tomorrow, and I should be able to finish by tomorrow on Boota--or at least get to 80% done or so. I'm very confident that I'll have both costumes satisfactorily completed by Fanime.
I'm just about to post a FANIME CONTACT POST, too, so please reply to it if you're going to Fanime! I want to meet all of you who are going. :D
Better go work on cosplay now! And clean the turkey and jay cages. >__>
May post turkey and jay pictures later, too, after the cages are clean and therefore presentable-looking.
